For those of us who loves Nyx Soft Matte Lip Cream, well, this Nyx Liquid Suede Lip Cream will give us another reason to love their matte liquid lipsticks line. With an array of wearable colors, good lasting power and decent textures, I’m quite sure that most us are already hooked with these liquid lipsticks.
I too, is a fan of Nyx Soft Matte Lip Creams. They’re affordable and good quality. In fact, I couldn’t even tell the difference between Nyx Soft Matte Lip Creams versus those high-end matte liquid lipsticks out there. Even more so with these Liquid Suede Lip Creams. But what’s the difference between the Soft Matte versus the Liquid Suede? Nyx said, they’re both gonna dry “matte,” which is true. But, there’s a but. In fact, a couple of buts. I know what you’re thinking 🙂 it’s nothing dirty, I swear. 🙂
From my swatches and wear-experience with these two lines of Nyx matte liquid lipsticks, the Soft Matte has a creamier texture yet it dries quickly, can be quite drying on the lips but has a wide array of shades to choose from. It also has a vanilla-chocolate-milkshake scent which I love and which will make you hate it or love it. Me? I just wanna eat it. 🙂 Its brush applicator is easier to use, a little furry, and not flimsy. It also comes in smaller tubes and the shades are named after the capitals or major cities in the world.
On the other hand, Liquid Suede comes in a chunky big tube with plasticky and flimsy brush applicator. It has a slight vanilla scent with a slightly less wide array of shades compared to the Soft Mattes. Some formulas are creamier, while most are a bit watery and a few can be streaky. They don’t dry as fast as Soft Matte, and they’re not as drying as the Soft Mattes as well. They also cost $1 more.
If you’d ask me which ones I prefer? I like the Soft Mattes better. I love the scent, love the creaminess, love the number of shades to choose from and I definitely prefer its brush applicator. Although, any of these two matte liquid lipsticks from Nyx will be a good purchase. I definitely don’t mind a cosmetic brand that sacrificed its packaging while having a good high-end quality liquid lipstick that’s on par with the popular high-end ones with a very affordable price. I truly madly deeply recommend these.
Nyx Liquid Suede Cream Lipstick in Tea & Cookies – You’ll really gonna be drinking teas and eating cookies with this bright barbie pink shade. It’s a little on the “bright pink” side for me but still very wearable and cute. The formula is a bit streaky and kinda dries fast. It is my second favorite from the three mentioned shades here.
Nyx Liquid Suede Cream Lipstick in Soft-Spoken – My most favorite shade among the three. This the perfect wearable color for me, and as for any skin tones as well. It is light brown with a mauve undertone, pretty much like the color of your lips but emphasized color-wise. I highly recommend this shade. A high-end dupe for this would be Kat Von D’s Lolita.
Nyx Liquid Suede Cream Lipstick in Sandstorm – My least favorite, unfortunately. I thought it would be more like Soft-Spoken but it’s not. It’s pretty but it’s not my shade. It’s also the most difficult to photograph as it blended on my skin easily, and it made me look like the walker. 🙂 It is a nude-gray-ashy-brown color that might show more on lighter skin tones or would be a perfect match for smokey eye makeup in gals with skin tones darker than mine. With me, it just looks too washed-out. 🙁 Additionally, this color reminds me of MAC’s lip pencil in Oak.
