“Ne Me Quitte Pas, Mon Cher, Ne Me Quitte Pas…” crazy for that song, it’s “Don’t Leave Me” by Regina Spektor.
What’s up there? what’s down? 🙂 Smashbox recently just released their Always On Matte Liquid Lipsticks and girl, I am hooked to the bones! They have lots of wearable colors to choose from and the packaging is cute. The applicators are cute and different, I like the way the brush is shaped like a diamond/trapezoid, very similar to YSL Volupte Tint in Oil, because it’s much more precise to use around the lips. However, the length of the applicator is not cute at all. It’s quite short, since the tube/packaging itself is small, but it’s not like you can’t manage, right?
I did feel like there’s not much product in the packaging, but it might just be me 🙂 I like that the vanilla scent of this liquid lipsticks are not that strong. Speaking of vanilla, why is it that almost all matte liquid lipsticks out there are usually flavored in vanilla? why not caramel, coffee, chocolate, fruits, starbucks…:-)
Anyway, the quality and formula of these matte liquid lipsticks are really good. No transfer, highly pigmented, no irritating scent, or at least very little, stays on for a very very long time, none drying, very lightweight and most of all, no smudging. These lipsticks won’t budge!
For a smilar product, checkout Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick, Stila Stay All Day Liquid Lipstick, Too Faced Melted Matte Liquified Lipstick and Anastasia Liquid Lipstick. These are the other brands that have the same caliber as Smashbox Always On Matte Liquid Lipstick.
Now, on with the swatches!
Stepping Out – Deep Nude. For my NC30-35 skin, this shade appears like a nude peachy brown on me. It kinda remind me of Too Faced’s Melted Matte in Sell Out, but a bit lighter. It didn’t made me look washed out, which is awesome. It’s a gorgeous everyday don’t care look, definitely one of my fave in this lipstick line.
Dream Huge – Mauve Pink. It’s difficult to judge this color if you’re just looking at the bottle. I didn’t expect this to be quite of a neon mauve, or slightly bright barbie pink on my pigmented lips. I know it does kinda appear like a muted mauve on the picture, but in real life, IRL, this is quite a bubblegum mauve pink on me. Definitely not one of my fave. This will be really great on anybody with a lighter skin tone.
Driver’s Seat – Warm Pink. I’ve forgotten what a breath of fresh air an Orange lipstick looks like. Wait, did I just say Orange? yes gurl, I did. No I didn’t say Orangutan, just in case you’re dyslexic. 🙂 Orange with a capital O. I don’t know why it’s described as warm pink. It didn’t look pink on me. It’s definitely an orange toned nude with probably a bit of brown. But yeah, it’s Minute Maid Orange juice in there. But I love it! I lilly lilly love it! reminds me of MAC’s Mocha. It’s a beautiful orange shade that will complement any skin tone.
Big Spender – Rose. Hey Rose, where’s Blanche Devereaux? Hey big spender! Every big spenders should have this, LOL. Don’tcha like it? a lipstick named after your extravagant lifestyle? Why not coconut? While I love the name of this matte liquid lipstick, I also love how true it sticks to its shade description. It is indeed a rosy color that is perfect and beautiful for any skin tone. Like a perfect dark pink rose with muted mauve undertone. Be careful though, as this shade is highly pigmented.
Faves: Everything, except Dream Huge. 🙂
