Hello All! I finally got my hands on these Ciate Liquid Velvet Moisturizing Matte Liquid Lipsticks! I’ve always been curious as to how Ciate’s own version of matte liquid lipsticks will fare against all other matte liquid lipsticks in the market nowadays. There seems to be a lot of positive reviews about these particular liquid lipsticks, specially because they’re formulated with Hyaluronic Acid, for that better moisturization effect.
As soon as I tried these, immediately I noticed the Gardenia/Jasmine-like scent. It’s quite strong but then it disappeared after a few minutes, or perhaps, I just got used to it. 🙂 Also, the formula is very velvety, lightweight, and is very easy to apply. In fact, it did create a matte effect on my lips and I didn’t feel like my lips were drying at all. It also lasts a long time, and on top of that, the color selection and pigmentation are really great. Minimal smudging or color-transfer were noticed but for the most part, the colors were still there.
Swoon: Nude. This is such a pretty nude shade that appears slightly coral-toned on me. I love its velvety texture and its wearable everyday-nude color. This is the kind of nude that could work in almost every skin tone as it also has a muted and light shade of brown. If you’re about to try Ciate’s Liquid Velvet Lipstick, this shade should be at the top of your list. 🙂
Wonderland: Dusty Nude Rose. This shade looks nothing like the color of its tube packaging. On my lips, this appears non-muted, but more like a nude, peachy, and slightly neon-pink. At least it’s still wearable since it’s not extremely bright, but this shade is not quite my cup of tea given my medium skin tone. Actually, this reminds me a lot of Too Faced Melted Matte Lipstick in Feelin Myself.
Pin Up: Universally Flattering Berry. Love love this to bits and pieces This shade is dark and vampy, yet very very sexy. It’s one of those muted red-berry and a bit of brown shade that complements any skin tone without looking over-the-top or just plain boring. It’s muted enough to not look too much, yet it’s bright enough to give a pop of color on the face.
Verdict: Ciate London has definitely done a great job with these matte liquid lipsticks. They’re on par with the best brands that created some of the best matte liquid lipsticks on the market nowadays. Talking about Kat Von D’s Everlasting Liquid Lipstick, Stila’s Stay All Day Liquid Lipstick, Too Faced’s Melted Mattes, and Smashbox’s Always On Matte Liquid Lipsticks. I definitely think these Liquid Velvet Lipsticks from Ciate will be joining my list of holy grail lipstick products.
