Catch me if you can, working on my tan, Salvatore… Oh why, Ciao there! likey that song? keep reading…the title’s at the bottom, but you probably already know… 🙂
So what’s the epic review for today? seriously, nothing to write home about, ha! but stay a while and maybe then you’ll see, a different side of me. Oh wait, that’s another song, what I mean is, perhaps you’ll learn something out of my ramblings, y’all never know… So, let’s talk about eyeliners or eye liners, whatevs, they mean the same. We all have our favorite eyeliners, right? for me, if there’s an apocalypse coming and I have to pick just one makeup product, I would have to say that I’ll definitely pick an eyeliner. Not a lipstick and definitely not an eyeshadow. But if the apocalypse is delayed, I’d come back and pickup a lipstick, hahaha! And if the apocalypse is even more delayed, well…that’s another story. Anyway, why did I prefer the eyeliner over the lipstick even though I’m clearly a lipstick type of person? because gurl, I can leave the house without any lipstick on, but I can’t live without my eyeliner on. It’s my one go-to beauty product, it’s the one that makes me look human, hehehe. I can sacrifice not wearing a lipstick or any lip product (though it would be a torture) but I will die if I don’t have any eyeliner on. I swear to JC in the heavens above.
Here’s some of my personal favorite eyeliners and find out why:
Make Up For Ever Graphic Liner – I didn’t really plan to purchase this, but I was running out of my favorite Eyeko Skinny Liquid Eyeliner and needed a quick replacement as I happen to pass by at Sephora. At that time I didn’t know which eyeliners in the market were good, so I purchased this blindly. I could say that I love this eyeliner a lot. It’s everything that I wanted for in a liner. Great applicator tip, dries quickly, nice jet-black shade, glides easily, but it seems to run out of product fast enough and it’s NOT WATERPROOF. And you know the drill. If your eyeliner is not waterproof, you can’t cry, period. 🙂
Maybelline Eye Studio Master Precise Ink Pen Eyeliner – A cheap and easy to use non-waterproof eyeliner. If you’re just going for a short and casual activity that doesn’t require you to be outdoor or in constant exposure to humidity, then this eyeliner will work for you. This is such a good alternative to the eyeliner mentioned above and I love its felt tip applicator. It’s fairly easy to apply because it has a nice slim tip that’s great for creating your signature cat eye look.
Stila Stay All Day Waterproof Liquid Eye Liner – Two Words. Holy Grail. Wait, lemme add some more. The perfect eyeliner ever. It may have a smaller and thinner tip of all the liners mentioned here, but that’s exactly the point. In my opinion, the smaller and thinner the applicator tip is, the better or easier it is to apply, specially for beginners or for someone with small or asian eyes. This eyeliner is the best I’ve ever tried, and also a holy for most. It has the best waterproof, extremely pigmented, and quick to dry formula ever. Also, I like how it creates a simple thin line to a more complex, dramatic, thicker line on the eyelid. This is the one you need to take with you in every funeral. 🙂
MAC Liquidlast Liner – You also need to take this in your purse just in case you forgot your Stila Stay All Day Eye Liner. Among the eyeliners mentioned here, MAC’s Liquidlast Liner is probably the hardest to apply and also the hardest to remove. It’s extremely pigmented and extremely waterproof. Once you apply this, it’s almost like there’s no turning back. It would have been nice if they have a felt-tip applicator like the rest of the eyeliners mentioned here, but this one is very similar to Urban Decay 24/7 Waterproof Liquid Eyeliner. If you’re the shaky-hand type, which struggles to perfect that cat eye look from time to time, then this won’t be your cup of tea because the applicator does not allow for a very precise application.
Maybelline Line Stiletto Ultimate Precision Liquid Eye Liner – Quite similar to Maybelline Master Precise Eyeliner but it has a thinner and smaller tip that’s slightly larger than Stila’s Stay All Day Liquid Eyeliner. It is not waterproof, but I love it for those casual days when I don’t really need the help of a waterproof eyeliner. It could have been perfect since it has a very nice and easy to use applicator tip, in fact, better than the Maybelline Master Precise, but the formula tends to feather, like the photo below. Still, the feathering is not so bad that you can’t wear it. Actually this was the first liquid eyeliner that I’ve tried. And you know what, I still love this eyeliner even until now.
- Another great eyeliner that I also love, yet I happen to run out of it for now, is the Eyeko Skinny Liquid Eyeliner. It has an intense color, extremely long lasting, easy to apply and doesn’t smudge formulation. One stroke can create a beautiful and intense cat eye look. It’s available HERE.
That’s it for now folks. See you soon.
So, about the song, betcha thought I didn’t remember that, huh? It’s Salvatore by Lana De Rey, The queen of the gas station, LOL.
