Hey eyeshadow fans! I’ve been really curious about this “pen style” or “stick style” eyeshadows lately, as sometimes I find it to be quite time-consuming to apply powder eyeshadows when I’m in a hurry. Like, I need to get out of the house in 5 minutes and I don’t have time to grab my brushes and blend. I’m sure you all feel me. 🙂
So off I went to Sephora and decided to try this Laura Mercier Caviar Stick Eye Colour in Moonlight, Khaki and Rose Gold. There wasn’t much left in my local Sephora, and I thought ” hmmm, people seem to love this thing.” So I have to make do with what was available and picked up the shades that I thought would fit great on my skin tone. A lot of the colors were very pigmented and creamy. Most of them were glittery too, so I wasn’t really sure about them during the swatches. Anyway, I went home with three shades and here they are.
The shades have very good color payoff and are very complementing. I love how pigmented they are that they stained a bit on my skin even after removing them. The “stick style” saves a lot of time and eliminates the need for lots of brushes. You’re still gonna need a brush though, but I find myself just using a blending brush for these, I recommend Ulta It Brush #105. Also, these creamy eyeshadows are indeed long wearing, transfer-proof and crease-proof. It’s also very easy to blend and can definitely create a perfect smoky eye. A bit of a downside is the price, but I think it’s worth it because there’s a lot of product in its container, so I’m pretty sure these will last long.
I really recommend these for traveling or even just in your purse because these are very practical to use. It’s no surprise that they are Allure’s Best of Beauty Award winner.
I have yet to try Marc Jacobs Twinkle Pop and Chanel Stylo Eyeshadow.
That’s it for now friends, until next time…
