Hello You Guys! Happy Post-Thanksgiving and Happy Cyber Monday. Y’all had a nice weekend? Did some crazy impulse shopping? I know I did, and darn… I was stuffed. I feel like I’m transforming into a Turkey. Anyhow, let’s get down to business. I have a new Loving Right now episode. A lot of it is mostly lip products and a really nice currently-released mini eye palette. I know I promised in my previous post that I’ll be reviewing some holiday palettes, so this post is a start, but please bear with me again because I’m gonna be traveling soon and I’ll be MIA from time to time. Please check out my Insta for more updates. Ok, here are the products I’ve been loving lately, and please stay tuned because I’ll be posting another “Loving Right Now Part 3” in a couple of days.
Lazy Perfection: The Art of Looking Great Without Really Trying (Jenny Patinkin) Hardcover ($20) – I saw this book when I was browsing through Neiman. I was really drawn by its cover because it looks so chic. The book itself is like a life coach. Don’t let the title fool you from not buying, I swear, you’ll need this kind of book at one point in your life. Before reading this, I really thought this was all about how to dress effortlessly, well yeah, there are some pointers regarding that topic, but a lot of the book’s contents are all about the practical guides of having and using makeup without necessarily overdoing or hoarding it, plus some fashion tips thrown in. Well, this book may make you feel guilty for being so materialistic (I know, I feel ya), but I also think that the contents and ideas are in no way making you lazy but they’re actually helpful guidelines to keep you organized. So yeah, I definitely recommend that you read this, or keep this at your coffee table. FYI: This book is also available on Amazon, click HERE.
Sunday Riley U.F.O. Ultra-Clarifying Face Oil (0.5 oz: $40, 1.18 oz: $80) – What can I say? I really love this oil and had purchased a larger bottle since then. It helps to control and prevent breakouts, plus, it’s not even that drying being the fact that it has salicylic acid. On top of that, it also helped with my oiliness, but that smell, my god, it’s too strong. I wish the scent is not that intense, but anyways, I’d like to keep this on my vanity just in case I’d get some major breakouts in the future.
Laneige Water Bank Moisture Cream (1.6 oz: $35) – So excited to try this K-beauty favorite and Allure Best of Beauty Winner 2016 cream. I tried this at Sephora and loved it. This feels like a thick creamy gel that you could use during winter season without drying your skin, and if you’re the oily type, oh well, this is even better. I like the neat clean scent and you really don’t need to apply a lot. Also, for its size, you can’t beat the price. This is kinda like a thick winter cream version of Belif’s Aqua Bomb.
Sephora Catchall Tray (Free for 250 points) – This cute polka dot ceramic tray has a size of 6×3 inches and it’s ideal for holding a few lipsticks, mascaras or eyeliners. Even though it’s small, it’s really handy and practical, not to mention that it makes for a perfect gift or as a cute decor.
L’oreal Colour Riche Balm Pop in 518 Tender Mauve ($7.99) – This was an impulse buy as I was passing through CVS. My lips were really dry and I needed something like a tinted balm at that time. I spotted this and fell in love with the description and packaging, LOL. This is definitely one of those well-done tinted balms, and I like that this is well-pigmented and it truly hydrates the lips.
Maybelline SuperStay Matte Ink in 15 Lover ($9.49) – The formula of this matte liquid lipstick is really thick, in fact, a lot thicker than most liquid lipsticks I’ve tried before, be it drugstore and high-end. While I like the color, I noticed that this gets a bit sticky when it dries, and you kinda feel your lips sticking together, which is annoying. Honestly, this formulation is very similar to Urban Decay Vice Liquid Lipstick (reviewed HERE) which has a pretty range of shades but has sticky formulation.
Pat McGrath Labs MatteTrance Lipstick in Omi 107 (0.14 oz: $38) – Released recently, I admit I’ve never heard about Pat McGrath before, so I tried one of her much-anticipated matte lipstick, which is “word around the vine” supposed to be the best lipstick ever? so I’m like, gurl I gotta try this lipstick for real. My reaction? the Omi shade is gorgeous, the matte formulation is on point, I love that there’s no annoying flavor or scent, I adore the unique packaging, and its lasting power is ok, but! I’m not a fan of the price, and is the shade dupable? yes. Would I buy another one? probably not. One is enough for me unless something comes out.
Milani Amore Matte Lip Creme in 12 Loved ($9) – Been curious about this brand making their own version of matte liquid lipstick ever since I fell in love with their Color Statement Matte Lipsticks (reviewed and swatched HERE). First and foremost, the shade Loved is very pretty and very pigmented. Second, the lipstick sets immediately but it’s very drying and very difficult to remove. You’re gonna need a waterproof makeup remover to do the job. Lastly, even if it’s drying, it really makes the lips look pouty and pretty, and for its price, well, it’s really cheap.
Last, but not the least…
Tarte Tartelette Flirt Eyeshadow Palette ($23) – Whenever Tarte releases an eyeshadow palette, I usually buy it. Yeah, ever since owning the Tartelette in Bloom Clay Eyeshadow Palette (reviewed HERE), I knew I’m gonna love whatever eye palette Tarte is gonna release. So, you can only imagine my excitement when I first saw this. Actually, this kinda reminds me of the mini version of the recently-released Tarte Toasted, which I’ll be reviewing soon as well. Now, getting back to this particular palette, I swear this is very pigmented, creamy and all shades are really beautiful, not to mention that they’re all Fall-ready shades. Such tones of warm matte browns, shimmery rusts and terra-cottas, I love it. Even the packaging is easy to throw into your purse or for traveling. There are almost no fallouts, and overall, my entire eye makeup is TDF.
That’s it for now folks, stay tuned for the part 3 of this review and check out my Insta below for some previews.
