Hello All! Remember when I previously reviewed Laura Mercier’s Caviar Stick Eye Colour HERE? And I mentioned that I have yet to try Marc Jacobs Twinkle Pop Stick Eyeshadow, well, tahhhday is the day to finally review MJ’s own version of stick eyeshadows, and I really love stick eyeshadows because they’re so easy to apply and they eliminate the use of some eye makeup brushes.
Created for women on-the-go, these products are branded as two-in-one creamy eye shadow and eyeliner at the same time. They’re meant to be shimmery and buildable as well. Another interesting fact about these shadows is that they’re infused with pure Alpine snow water from the Swiss Alps (ohhws?) for lid hydration and also to give that soothing or cooling effect once applied on the lids. Furthermore, these Marc Jacobs Twinkle Pop Stick Eyeshadows have a twist action pen-style for application, which is usually meant to be used without a brush.
- Volver 402 – Peach Champagne Shimmer. Great as middle shade for lids as it has a neutral tone.
- Frannie 408 – Snow Iridescent Shimmer. Silvery white shimmer that’s great as a highlighter.
- Three Shakes 404 – Milk Chocolate Shimmer. Nice shimmery brown shade for eye contouring.
When it comes MJ Twinkle Pop Stick Eyeshadow shades, I really like that they’re very well-pigmented and very wearable, specially the ones that I bought because their colors are on the neutral side. I also love the cooling effect on my lid the moment these eyeshadows were applied. However, compared to Laura Mercier Caviar Stick, these MJ Twinkle Pop Sticks are a bit difficult to blend once applied. They’re creamy but I don’t know why they’re kinda hard to distribute around my lid the moment the product made contact with my skin. Unlike Laura Mercier Caviar Sticks that are so easy to layer.
These shadows will need some more blending action with a blending brush. For this photo, I used a MAC 217 blending brush. Eventually they’d blend, so no worries at all. When it comes to using these shadows as eyeliners, well, I prefer a real thin gel-like or matte eyeliners on my lids with no shimmery hues, thus my reason for not using these shadows as one.
Eyebrow: Anastasia Brow Wiz in Caramel with Anastasia Brow Gel
Eyelashes: Lancome Cils Booster XL Mascara Base with Clinique High Impact Mascara
I normall shy away from shimmery eyeshadows because I have a thing for mattes, but these Marc Jacobs Twinkle Pop Sticks eyeshadows are really nice to have if you’re a fan of shining shimmering splendid lids, plus the cooling effect. Another good alternative for these eyeshadows are the Laura Mercier Caviar Sticks and Chanel Stylo Eyeshadows which I have yet to try. So, stay tune…:-)
