Gurlzzz and Boyzzz Hi! In my previous review, we’ve talked about Nyx Liquid Suede Cream Lipstick and how it is compared to its older sister Nyx Soft Matte Lip Cream, which I’m about to review right now. But before that, if you haven’t read my Nyx Liquid Suede Cream Lipstick review, please read it here. If you don’t, you will die. joke! 🙂
As I said from my Nyx Liquid Suede review, I prefer these Soft Matte ones because they’re creamier, cheaper and smells delish. The tube and its brush applicator are much more manageable than the Liquid Suede ones. The only drawback is that they can be quite drying but they do last long.
Now that you know the difference between the two Nyx matte liquid lipsticks line, let me show you some swatches from a few of my Nyx Soft Matte Lip Cream collection.
Nyx Soft Matte Lip Cream in Cannes – LOVE.LOVE.LOVE. My most favorite of all the Soft Matte Lip Creams. The shade is a perfect nude with a mauve undertone that doesn’t look overbearing but works really well on any medium skin. Slightly lighter than Kat Von D’s Lolita and similar to Nyx Liquid Suede in Soft-Spoken.
Nyx Soft Matte Lip Cream in Antwerp – Bubblegum pink, barbie pink or neon bright pink. It is a showy shade of pink that will work really well with anybody who has a light skin tone. I find this to be too flashy on me, although the tube didn’t look like it. This shade is my least favorite of the ones mentioned here, as I think it didn’t work really well on my NC30-35 skin. A lighter version of this would be Nyx Liquid Suede in Tea & Cookies.
Nyx Soft Matte Lip Cream in San Paulo – If Antwerp is bright pink, this one’s a super-electric blue-toned pink. You will never be lost with this shade. People will always notice and find you because this is so vavavoom! 🙂 I find this to be a bit too much as well, unless I wanna slay some bitchez in town. Ha! However, I don’t dislike this as much as Antwerp because this one is on the darker side. And girl…I like them dark. 🙂
Nyx Soft Matte Lip Cream in Athens – This is a cute peachy pink nude for the demures out there. This is the ideal nude shade for anybody with a light skin tone. On my medium skin, it’s a bit washed-out, since the peachy shade blended on my skin quite well. This is probably my second least favorite shade of all.
Nyx Soft Matte Lip Cream in London – Light brown nude. The lighter sister of the Abu Dhabi shade which will be mentioned below. This is a surprising “like” for me as I thought it would make me look washed-out. It did not. I guess because the brown shade is not really that light. In fact, this shade complemented my medium skin well.
Nyx Soft Matte Lip Cream in Stockholm – Peach mauve nude. Another fave of mine. I love how this looks on my skin. It’s like the lighter version of Cannes yet still very pretty and very wearable. This would work really well on light to medium skin.
Nyx Soft Matte Lip Cream in Zurich – Light pink peach nude. Love this so much as well. Compared to Stockholm, mentioned above, which has a peachy undertone, this one has a slight pinkish tone to it. However, this won’t make you look washed-out, it will just give you a right amount of pink peach shade that’s good enough to add a cute flush to your skin.
Nyx Soft Matte Lip Cream in Abu Dhabi – Ashy brown. It is the darker brother of London, mentioned above. I like this color but I’m not crazy about it, as it is too brown for me. I can see this looking really good on dark skin tones. I couldn’t think of a similar shade for this, but I’m thinking perhaps this the brown version of Nyx Liquid Suede in Sandstorm.
Faves: Cannes, London, Stockholm, Zurich
