Nyx Matte Lipsticks Review

nyx matte lipstick review

What’s up, everybody! Getting ready for the weekend? Me? Not so much, I’ve been down with the cold. Sometimes these chilly days can get you down, but hey! let’s keep on going, right? After all, I wan to tell you something about this latest discovery of mine. The Nyx Matte Lipsticks. I bought these lipsticks a couple of months ago, but I don’t know what happened to me, perhaps I had a slight amnesia that I simply forgot to test them. I mean, I know they were there, but it’s as if I didn’t see them at all, lol.

Anyways, one of my friends was talking about Nyx Matte Lipsticks and I thought, hmmm, I may have a few, and indeed, I have. Well, guess what? let me tell you right now that I regret not having to use these lippies immediately, because the moment I swiped one on my lips, it was love at first sight. Never knew that Nyx Lipsticks could be this good, even more so for a matte lipstick. In fact, now I realize that I’ve never really tried a Nyx Product that I didn’t like. Their lip products are always reliable and affordable.ย

I have three Nyx Matte Lipsticks in my stash for today’s review, and I am so in love with all three of them. I love the smooth velvety yet buttery texture, I love the wearable shades, and the longevity is very decent as well. Not to mention the amazing pigmentation that these lipsticks have. It’s hard to imagine them being $6 each.

Natural (Mauve) – This shade has a mauve-pink tone to it. It looks great as an everyday shade,ย however, I wouldn’t say that this is the “natural” shade for my lips, but it might be for others, perhaps. That’s because this hue does not match the exact natural color of my lip’s pigment, or at least the shade appears to beย slightly pinkish on me. But I love this shade nonetheless.

Whipped Caviar (Muted Plum) – As I was talking about my lip’s natural shade, I think that this shadeย is probably the most natural toย me. I think the sort of muted plum or warm beige color suited my lip’s natural pigment and my skin tone. I like this shade a lot, and I am definitely going to be wearing this everyday.

Tea Rose (Mauve Pink) – The most pink of the three, this shade is one of the most wearable pinks I’ve ever seen. It’s not too over the top, but more like a muted mauve-pink. It’s also extremely pigmented and will be great on any skin tone.

I would love to purchase more of these Nyx Matte Lipsticks soon. They’re such a good deal for being an affordable lipstick. You may even think they could be high-end because their quality is amazing. These lipsticks could give the matte liquid lipsticks a run for their money. Just don’t ask me about their scents right now, (I don’t think they do, as far as I can remember), because as of the moment, my nose doesn’t work. In fact, nothing works for theseย clogged sinuses. I might as well go and sniff a Drano, lol.

Happy Friday All! Take Care and don’t get sick out there!

Dior Addict Lip Glow & Lip Sugar Scrub Review

dior addict lip glow berry coral lip sugar scrub review

Hello Guys! I know you’ve been waiting for this review, so let’s get this party started. For a very long long time, I have adored, loved and worshipped the Dior Addict Lip Glow, not to mention its chic packaging. I always have one in my pocket, in my purse, and always in my travel bag. It is my go-to lip balm for my day to day activities and it has never failed me. It has the right amount of creaminess that doesn’t feel heavy on the lips, while its moisturizing power is very long lasting. It has a soothing effect that calms chapped lips and is truly my holy grail for lip moisturization during long plane flights. On top of that, the Dior Addict Lip Glow gives a slight tint of color on the lips, which makes it glowy and healthy-looking. The great news is, it now comes in different shades, which I am so excited about because I have always purchased and repurchased the Pink shade for years now. It’s not that I hated that color, it’s just that it’s quite too sheer for me and I was wishing for a darker tone that could match my pigmented lips. Then I switched to the Coral shade, which is really good, but I was still wishing for a mauve-ish or berry-ish hue. Finally, prayer answered, Dior Beauty just released the Berryย shade, yey! oh and I didn’t even realize that there’s aย Lilac shade too, but still, it’s too sheer for me.ย

On the other hand, along with the new Dior Addict Lip Glow in Berry shade, Dior also released the Dior Addict Lip Sugar Scrub. Another yey! (looks like Dior is really paying attention to what their customers need). The Lip Sugar Scrub is basically an exfoliating stick, to bring out that fresh and vibrant-looking lips. Which I think is very necessary before applying a lipstick, specially a liquid lipstick. This scrub stick has tiny grains of sugar that has just the right amount and feeling of grittiness. You can swipe and either leave the tiny grains on your lips as it melts and becomes a balm, or you can use it to scrub the dead skin layer off your lips. Either of the two will do because this Dior Addict Lip Sugar Scrub will get the job done.

For this review, I have my overused Dior Addict Lip Glow in Coral shade, and I have the new Dior Lip Glow in Berry. Also, down below is the new Dior Addict Lip Sugar Scrub.

Dior Addict Lip Glow (Coral) – I switched to this when I finally got bored of the pink shade. I love this shade so much, even though it doesn’t show much on my lips. I kinda like the tiny hint of coral shade that it gives me because it makes my lips look bright and healthy, Owwws!, plus, I have a thing for coral shades. That’s really my point, LOL ????

Dior Addict Lip Glow (Berry) – Meet my new holy grail. I dig this shade so much, I wanna buy more! this is my kinda shade. It’s my lips but a whole lot better. Hehehe. The berry-mauve tone is just purrrfect for everyday wear, and it has the same moisturizing feel, but has more menthol flavoring than the previous Dior Addict Lip Glows.

Dior Addict Lip Sugar Scrub – Meet my other new holy grail. An exfoliating lip scrub but with a hint of color. Can be used as a scrub or as a balm, or both. Whichever works for ya. For me, at least in this review,ย I used it solely as an exfoliator on my lips and wiped away the dead skin with a tissue to show you how good this Dior Addict Lip Sugar Scrub at exfoliating. Indeed, it’s remarkable.

Bottomline, I’m in love with these new releases of Dior Addicts. I can only wish that Dior will continue to make, improve and add more colors to them, because J’adore Dior!

Have A Good Day Guys!

Make Up For Ever Artist Liquid Matte Lipstick Review

makeup forever artist liquid matte lipstick

Pssst! Did you know that Make Up For Ever (MUFE) finally releases their own version of matte liquid lipsticks? recently? yes! They’reย called the Make Up For Ever Artist Liquid Matte Lipsticks. So far, there’s about 6 shades that came out. One is already sold out in Sephora’s website. Hmmm, I’m feeling the whole trending lipstick vibes right now…

Hallelujah! Finally Make Up For Ever jumped into the matte liquid lipsticks bandwagon, because I had been anticipating, waiting and dreaming. MUFE is one of my favorite makeup brand and I know that their products don’t disappoint, so, I have a high expectation towards their new line of matte liquid lipsticks.ย

I ordered MUFE’s Artist Liquid Matte Lipsticks online, and I was drawn to the two shades that I think will look great on me, based upon my skin tone and lip pigmentation. They’re the shades 105 Rosewood and 109 Praline. Upon opening one of the tubes, I noticed a hint of vanilla and a sorta strong jasmine scent. Immediately my mind thought of another matte liquid lipstick, which is made by Ciate London. The Ciate Liquid Velvet Moisturing Matte Liquid Lipsticks (reviewed HERE). But the formulation is slightly quite different. While Ciate’s Matte Liquid Lipsticks are creamy, MUFE’s Artist Liquid Matte Lipsticks areย creamy-er. Think Colourpop’s Ultra Satin Lipsticks (reviewed HERE). They’reย definitely very creamy, cushiony and lightweight at the same time. It’sย not like most matte liquid lipsticks that dry within seconds, the MUFE Artist Matte Liquid Lipsticks will take about 2-3 minutes to dry.ย

105 ย Rosewood – I like the way it looks on the tube, and based upon the name, I thought that this was gonna be a true mauve shade. However, this Rosewood shade didn’t look very well on me. My lips looked like wood, without the rose, LOL ???? I mean, don’t get me wrong, it’s not the quality of the lipstick, it’s just the shade. I felt like I really should have chosen the 103 Warm Beige or 107 Neutral Beige shade. Now one of them is already soldout in Sephora ????. Hmmm… Well anyway, this 105 Rosewood shade has a grayish/ashy undertone that it made me look either anemic or ghastly. This shade will definitely work on someone with a lighter skin tone than mine (NC25-30).ย

109 Praline – ย Love this shade to bits and pieces. As you can see from the pic above, my lips look divine and luscious! Ooh la la! LOL! ???? (shame…) This shade works on my pigmented lips and my sorta tan skin tone. It has a warm, medium, brick, reddish and brown shade that is not too dark and too light. Reminds me a lot of Kat Von D’s Lolita. For me, this is the best shade in MUFE’s Artist Liquid Matte Lipstick line and probably one of the best shade for someone with a medium skin tone.

Verdict: If you’re used to Matte Liquid Lipsticks that dries easily upon a few seconds after application, then you might be really surprised with these Make Up For Ever Artist Liquid Matte Lipsticks because they take a while to dry and they might kinda feel sticky at first. They’re extremely creamy, almost like a mousse and is very very cushiony. Which I think is a nice thing because they fill the gap and lines on your lips, making it full and gorgeous. Eventually they dry down like any other good matte liquid lipsticks that is long lasting and reliable.
