Aloha boyz and girlalooz! what’s up? what’s down? Anybody loves liquid lipsticks here? I’m pretty sure we all do. They’re everywhere, they’re sold out, there’s more coming, more brands making liquid lipsticks, more liquid lipstick in different hues, tones, colors, more liquid lipstick in different textures, names, bottles, scents. Frankly, I wish they’d stop! like “Stop right now, thank you very much.” Why? because I can’t stop buying them and trying them. They’re really addicting you know. Some of them are good, while some of them are bad. Most are wonderful actually.
Stila Stay All Day Liquid Lipsticks are one of those wonderful ones that really does the job of an above average liquid lipstick in my own humble opinion. Most of their liquid lipsticks deliver well in terms of texture, color and scent. These liquid lipsticks are meant to be weightless, long-lasting, creamy, hydrating, color-rich, with Vitamin E and Avocado oil. It is also meant to “not bleed, nor transfer.” They also come in matte or shimmery shades. A few miss though, and the price of each can be quite heavy on your pocket if you buy a lot. Make sure to always pick the shade that will suit your skin tone best. I hope this review will guide you in choosing the ones that you’ll like. It’s not a lot, but it might help. 🙂 Ready. Get. Set. Go!
Stila Stay All Day Liquid Lipstick in Caramello – This is a a pale yellow-toned nude color that dries matte. This looks a bit too nude on my lips, but it doesn’t look bad. Just too close to my NC30-35 skin color. It is probably one of the lightest color in Stila’s Stay All Day Liquid Lipstick line. It also almost looks fleshy, so I think this would be the ideal “nude” for the ones with lighter complexion.
Stila Stay All Day Liquid Lipstick in Baci – This is like the lighter sister of Patina, mentioned below. It is a very light mauve shade that would be very ideal for any skin tones lighter than NC30. For me, it still looks quite nude and a little washed-out on my NC30-35 skin. It is definitely slightly darker than Caramello, (mentioned above), but still a nude tone that is more on the mauve side, instead of the yellowish side.
Stila Stay All Day Liquid Lipstick in Patina – Dusty Rose. Matte Texture. My most favorite of all the shades here. I love the creamy formula that dries within seconds. However, this color is very deceiving. It looks quite “pale” in the bottle, but when swatched, it looks very mauvish, and definitely way darker than by just judging how the bottle appears. Actually, it looks like a very mauve rose, the kind that will suite every skin tone out there. Very comparable to Sephora’s Cream Lip Stain in number 13 Marvelous Mauve, and a rosier version Kat Von D’s Lolita. Actually, when I was trying this Stila Liquid Lipstick in the store, I didn’t pick this color up at first, because I was looking for a more “natural” shade, and this color looks “too nude.” I ended up picking the shades in Ricco and Amore, but boy oh boy, they turned out to be too dark. Lesson learned, the shades in these Stila Stay All Liquid Lipsticks are indeed lighter in the bottle.
Stila Stay All Day Liquid Lipstick in Dolce – Nude Cinnamon Sheen. My least favorite of them all. Not because of the color, in fact, the shade would have been perfect, except that I didn’t like texture. It didn’t dry down as fast as Patina. It didn’t have the same texture as Patina, and definitely not as creamy as Patina. It felt watery and blotchy with some shimmer that didn’t suit well on my lips. I understand that Stila Liquid Lipstick has different textures but this one just didn’t work well on me. Love the shade though.
Stila Stay All Day Liquid Lipstick in Amore – Deep Plum Sheen. Looks like a violet-brown shade in the bottle but dries down to a very vampy, deep, dark, plum, violet shade. Also with a bit of shimmer. This is the kind that the Adams Family like to wear. Very Halloween-like and goth. So if you feel like becoming an Emo one day and will want to move to Hotel Transylvanina, well, girl… don’t forget this. 🙂
Stila Stay All Day Liquid Lipstick in Ricco – Bloody Hell. That’s the first thing that came to my mind. Very Lizzy Borden, LOL! joking… It’s a vampy, deep red that dries down to the color of Stila’s Liquiid Lipstick in Amore (mentioned above). Also very halloween-like, but this has a deep, dark, red tone with a bit of brown. A favorite of Corpse Bride, I guess. But I like this one a lot. It’s a very pretty red for my tanned skin. Makes your teeth look white, you won’t need Colgate after all, Ha! 🙂
Verdict: Pretty colors for sure. No taste. Awesome textures, if they’re matte. They’re indeed long-lasting and very creamy. There’s some good nude to nude-brown colors and their scent is not overpowering. They have the same scent as Too Faced’s Melted Liquid Lipsticks or Sephora’s Cream Lip Stain but a lot more subtle. They don’t transfer, dries down fast, but not as weightless as I expected. Colors can be deceiving in the bottle as I have mentioned in this post many times and the price can be steep. However, they’re very good liquid lipstick. I would say, their closest rival would be Kat Von D’s Everlasting Liquid Lipstick.
