Westman Atelier Beauty Review + Swatches

westman atelier beauty review

Hello from the other side. I am back with a review of a very interesting beauty brand I have wished to try โ€” Westman Atelier.

Something about this brand caught my attention, yet I do not know precisely what it is. Maybe it is the packaging, maybe it is the reviews, or simply maybe because of how the product looks on everybody. So, I finally got my hands on some of the bestsellers from Westman Atelier, and here are my two cents.

Baby Cheeks Blush Stick

westman atelier baby cheeks blush stick review

These beautiful blush sticks are contained inside heavy tube packagings with magnetic closures. The packaging almost feels very industrial, metallic, and heavy-duty. The kind that seems to come from the RH furniture store, or if RH releases a makeup line, I bet the look will be more like some of these Westman Atelier blush sticks.

Quality-wise, I believe these blushes deliver what they are supposed to deliver. The pigment is really good and they do not irritate my skin. Each shade is beautiful and can fit well with any skintone. There is no need to go ham on these because, most likely, you will only have to use one swipe to get enough of the product on the cheeks.

Chouchetteย – Nude peach. A light to medium neutral peach. Great as an everyday blush.

Petalย – Dusty nude rose. A shade deeper than Chouchette. There is a rosy undertone and is quite pigmented with just one light swipe.

These products contain Jojoba Seed Oil and various fruit extracts. Despite the moisturizing ingredients and the fact that the products are applied directly to the skin like a stick, I am surprised to notice that my foundation was not moved at all. Therefore, there is no need to worry as the blushes do not move any concealers or foundations. Just do not put too much of it on the skin.

Lit Up Highlight Stick

This is a beautiful stick highlighter that looks so fancy and heavy. The black and gold packaging gives the highlighter a luxe look that can sometimes be mistaken as part of a room dรฉcor accent. When it comes to the product itself, I am pretty surprised that the highlighter did not live up to my standards. I find the product to be too oily that it melts quickly upon application. It also did not seem to be visible on my skin. It just seemed to blend into my skintone, which made me think that maybe I should try the highlighter in another shade. Still, the product slides off my skin easily, and the highlight effect is minimal. I almost feel like the product is a great highlighter to use on good skin days or during very sunny days when the sun hits my face. Maybe then I could see all the glow and the glassy skin effect the highlighter promises to offer.

Nectarย – glassy golden peach.

Super Loaded Tinted Cream Highlighter

If I had mixed feelings about the Lit Up Stick Highlighter, I can assure you I do not have any mixed feelings about this amazing cream highlighter. This highlighter can sink a thousand ships because it is SO GOOD that I am really in awe of how it looks on my skin. At first glance, the packaging may look unassuming, but touch, hold it, feel it, then open it, and you are in for a surprise. It is art and beauty at the palm of your hands. In other words, the highlighter is utterly gorgeous! And the formula itself is also extremely gorgeous that it will make you feel fabulous! What do I like about it? Everything. Apart from the unique packaging, the product has a creamy texture that does not melt easily, yet is spreadable enough to create a gorgeous holographic look. It gives a beautiful glassy skin finish regardless of your current skin situation. There is no need to use a brush to apply the product, just use your fingertips and dab a bit of it on the skin. It will not move your foundation. I promise :-). Try it. You will love it. I am not kidding ๐Ÿ™‚

Peau de Pecheย – Soft pearlized bronze suede. Comes out as a luminous peachy rose bronze.

Eye Pods Eyeshadows

This trio of magnetic pod-packaged eyeshadows is extremely cute and totally unique in its overall presentation. I have seen and tried some eyeshadows before with similar magnetic packagings, but these Westman Atelier ones have a luxurious look. I can tell that a lot of thought is given to the way the packaging of the eyeshadows is made. In terms of the product itself, the formula is quite intriguing because it does not feel very creamy at all, even though it may look creamy at first sight. The feel of the product is somewhat velvety, and it is not very easy to spread around the lids when using the fingertips. A somewhat stiff-bristled eyeshadow brush works betters in terms of application, but a soft-bristled eyeshadow brush will not help much. I think it is because the product is too thick in consistency that it can be challenging to pick it up using just the fingertips or a soft brush. I do find that the shades are really pigmented, and they do not irritate my lids.

The Westman Atelier Eye Pods come in three sets/trios of wearable eyeshadows. Here is my favorite trio.

Les Joursย – chocolate/rich chocolate, tabac/warm bronze, neige/iridescent ivory.

Final thoughts. I love this makeup brand, especially the cream highlighter and the eye pods eyeshadows. Westman Atelier does not shy away from creating gorgeous makeup products with luxurious packaging that is truly worth the price tag. I would not mind carrying any of their products in my purse all the time.

Charlotte Tilbury Cheek to Chic Blushes Review + Swatches

charlotte tilbury cheek to chic blush

The Charlotte Tilbury Cheek to Chic Blush (0.28 oz: 40 USD) is a very popular blush that a lot of people swear by, myself included. There is something about the quality of each compact and the shade range that seem to make the blush work very well on each and everyone’s cheekbones. On top of that, the aesthetic of the compact looks very elegant, even though its packaging design isn’t the most ergonomic. The whole look of it is just simply stunning and it’s the type of blush you would want to apply on your cheeks all the time.

The Cheek to Chic blush is very easy to use and each compact has two shades. One is a center shade that is meant to emphasize and color the cheeks, while the outer shade is meant to contour and sculpt the cheekbones. All you have to do to apply is to swish the outer shade across the cheeks and then apply the inner shade for a multidimensional look. Personally, whenever I apply this, I pretty much just swirl both the shades together especially when I’m in a hurry and I’d still get the same depth or effect more or less.

Most of the shades I’ve tried from this particular blush are really well-pigmented and at the same time very buildable and blendable. They really make your cheeks look beautiful and glowy, especially if you find the right tones that complement your skin. For quite some time, the Ecstasy and the Love Glow compacts have been my constant favorites even though a lot of the Cheek to Chic blush shades also look very nice on my skintone. Then the latest Pillow Talk Intense came and it’s also very very good.

Ecstasy – peach pink, adds a nice peachy coral glow for light to medium skintone. Reminds me a lot of the Nars Orgasm blush.

Love Glow – pink with surrounding glowy peach, for those who love a dolly pink blush with some hints of peach.

charlotte tilbury cheek to chic blush pillow talk intense review

Pillow Talk Intense – deep rosy pink with very subtle glow, as what I’ve mentioned when I reviewed the new Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk Collection (seen here), don’t be dissuaded by the deep tones of this blush. This gives a nice warm berry pink tone that seems to contour the cheeks especially when you’re lighthanded with your application. The original Pillow Talk blush is way too light for my skintone, but this intense version is a perfect blusher for Fall.

I would describe the Charlotte Tilbury Cheek to Chic blush as very similar to Hourglass’, Bobbi Brown’s and Nars’. The type that is finely-milled, super soft, and most of the shades are very beautiful and very wearable. Definitely worth trying and collecting.

Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blush Quad Ghost Palette Review + Swatch

Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blush Quad Ghost Palette review

Just when I thought my blush collection was complete, enter the holiday-released Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blush Quad Ghost Palette (58 USD) and my heart started racing to 200 bpm, lol. Yes, that’s how excited I was the very first time I saw this gorgeous palette.

Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blush Quad Ghost

Hourglass Cosmetics released their Ghost Collection last holiday (2019), which included the new Ambient Lighting Edit Ghost Face Palette (80 USD) and this new Blush Quad Ghost. Of the two palettes, I was more drawn to this beautiful quad of blushes because each of the shades looks pretty not only upon first glance but also upon swatching them on my arms. The Ghost Full-Face Palette didn’t appeal to me much because I already have and still use the previous Hourglass Ambient Lighting Edit Volume 3 (reviewed HERE) which I adore. I try not to use it as much because it’s so pretty. Also, the nice thing about Hourglass products is that they’re really well-pigmented that you don’t need to use up as much color on the face, and even if you’ve used them several times, they still look good as new. Additionally, the packaging of their palettes is so luxurious and so elegant. The Ghost palettes are in a silver mirror-like compact with a translucent plastic packaging.

The shades of this quad blush are what Hourglass calls “hybrid” because they’re a mix of a highlighter shade and a vivid shade that seem to create a customized, unique, multidimensional, and soft-focus tone on the skin, in order to naturally enhance the curves of our cheekbones.

Three of the shades in this quad are new.

hourglass ghost palette

1 – Surreal Effect (new, light pink blush)

2 – Brilliant Nude (more like a highlighter)

3 – Lucid Glow (new, medium coral blush)

4 – Infinite Flush (new, medium-pink/somewhat plum blush)

I really love the radiant finish of each shade in this Hourglass Ambient Lighting Ghost Blush Quad. They don’t look flat because they’re hybrid shades which really add depth and dimension to the cheeks. I also love that they’re all buildable and that they’re made of clean ingredients. Also, the whole product is cruelty-free. Just a few things that I seem to notice is how minimalist and sleek the compact looks, but it tends to attract fingerprints and lint. Also, the bottom of the compact is translucent yet it feels quite plasticky, which I’m not used to since most Hourglass palettes/compacts are metallic, shiny, and super luxe. However, the quality of each blush shade remains superior.

ย Do you have this in your collection? What are your favorite Hourglass products?
