Dior Addict Lacquer Stick Review + Swatches

Oh, Hi There! Ever since I reviewed the Dior Addict Lacquer Plump (HERE), I began to wonder what its solid lipstick counterpart was like – the Dior Addict Lacquer Stick (0.11 oz: $37). Upon the description, it’s meant to be a hybrid lip lacquer shine and a lip balm all rolled into one, while the Dior Addict Lacquer Plump, on the other hand, is supposed to be a lip plumping lacquer complete with all its hydrating effect and shine. While I do like the Dior Addict Lacquer Plump due to its comforting effect on the lips, as well as its beautiful shades, I didn’t think it was plumping at all, or at least I didn’t really notice it. But with the Dior Addict Lacquer Stick, it’s a completely different experience.

I remember skipping on these lipsticks before when they were released, (which I shouldn’t have) thinking that it would just be like any other Dior lipsticks. But since purchasing the three shades which I’m about to review below, I felt like I really I should have bought some before since there weren’t a lot of colors left anymore at my local Dior counters or even at my local Department Stores or Sephora. Upon initial test, in my opinion, I think this Lacquer Stick is a lot better than the Dior Addict Lacquer Plump. With this, the application is smooth and you’ll really get a good coverage with just one swipe. By smooth, I mean buttery smooth, kinda like those YSL Rouge Volupte Shine in texture and comfort. The Lacquer stick is also very hydrating and super lightweight on the lips, so you won’t feel like wearing anything at all. There are two finishes available as of the moment: the limited-edition Glitter finish and the Satin finish.

627 Rising Star – Glittery Nude. I fell in love with this holographic shimmery nude immediately. I love that it’s a medium taupe shade that complements my lips’ undertone and that nice multi-faceted soft shimmer is so pretty yet not too uncomfortably blinding. It’s a great every nude lip color with wearable shimmers.

Satin Finish:

420 Underground – Pink Nude. This color is one of those perfect everyday lipstick no matter what complexion you’re in. It’s a “hard to come by” shade even though there’s a ton of nude lipsticks nowadays. Yet this shade seems to adapt to any inherent color that’s already on the lips. It isn’t a show-off shade, instead, it’s more of wearable warm nude with a tiny bit of pink.

570 L.A. Pink – Rosewood. A very beautiful, (like bee-you-tiful!) mauve rose that looks a bit like the Underground shade above but has a bit more pink in it. For me, this is such a very wearable warm pinky rosewood because its undertones are muted so it’s not flashy even though its finish is quite shiny.

There is a slight floral scent to these lipsticks, but it’s not as strong compared to the scent of most Dior Addict Lipsticks. I actually find the scent to be pleasing. The packaging, on the other hand, is sleek but it’s a bit annoying because the names of the lipsticks are on the tube cover and not on the product’s tube itself. So there’s a huge possibility of mislabeling the lipsticks. Other than that, this Dior Addict Lacquer Stick is almost perfect. It feels light on the lips, it’s indeed comforting and hydrating like a lip balm, its pigments are superb and gives good coverage, while it has a nice shiny finish but not over the top like a vinyl effect. It lasts a good three hours on me after eating, but a solid 4 to 5 hours with minimal snacking or just sipping coffee, juice or tea.

Dior Lip Tattoo Review

Hello! This is going to be an exciting review because we’re gonna be talking about Dior’s latest lip sensation, the Dior Lip Tattoo or the Dior Addict Lip Tint ($30). It’s just been released recently and was sold out in Sephora for a few weeks. They might have restocked on a few colors now, but I’m pretty sure those won’t last. This is definitely a lipstick worth hoarding for. It’s meant to be a no-transfer weightless lip tint that stains the lips like a tattoo for at least 10 hours, according to Dior Beauty. It can be worn alone or can be used as a lip primer. That seems really promising, right?

Dior Lip Tattoo Review

First of all, I love the look of this Dior Lip Tattoo. The packaging is so cute and pretty. So Dior. It feels matte with the Dior brand embossed on one side of it. The brush applicator is small, precise and robust. When you first twist the cap, you could sense a menthol-vanilla-ish scent. Upon application, you’ll notice a slight cooling effect on the lips and the formula is very fluid. It’s definitely not like your most matte liquid lipsticks. This one feels more like a liquid lip stain, to the tune of Giorgio Armani’s Lip Magnet, only slightly cheaper.

It may take a few more swipes before there’s enough coverage on your lips due to this product’s liquid and slightly streaky nature. It kinda settles on the fine lines of your inner lips, but it’s not sticky nor very drying like most matte liquid lipsticks. Though it may eventually slightly dry your lips after hours and hours of wearing it, but you can always top it with your favorite lip gloss or lip balm.

Once the product settles, perhaps around 3-5 minutes, it’ll definitely become transfer-proof, kiss-proof and bullet-proof, LOL. But yeah, it’s true, the Dior Addict Lip Tattoo won’t budge. The effect is more like a lip stain or a very soft matte. It’s very long-lasting as well. I get a good 6-8 hours and beyond of wear on this. Taking it off can be a challenge because it’s super staining that a waterproof makeup remover might struggle to get rid of it. But seriously, who wants to get rid of this lipstick’s beautiful shade?

  • Dior Lip Tattoo in 491 Natural Rosewood – Love the versatility of this shade. The muted dusty rose hue will definitely fit on everyone’s natural lip color and it’s so great for everyday wear. This should definitely be the “my lips but better” kind of shade.

Dior Lip Tattoo natural berry

  • Dior Lip Tattoo in 771 Natural Berry – Gorgeous berry-plum shade. Also a very versatile yet very commanding shade. Don’t be surprised if people will tell you that you look so Maj. ????

Dior Lip Tattoo Review

Final words. These lip products are really well-made. You’ll miss ¼ of your life if you won’t try it. Just kidding. But seriously, I do think that this is Dior’s answer to the coveted Armani Lip Magnets. The nice thing is, with Dior, probably almost all the shades are crazily pigmented. But with the Armani ones, some of the lighter shades are not that pigmented. But I love the Armani a lot because those never dried my lips and they’re slightly thicker in consistency than Dior. Anyhow, whichever you prefer between the two, they won’t disappoint you.

Rouge Dior Matte Lipsticks Review

Since my last “Samples of The Week” Review, I’ve been testing a few Rouge Dior Matte Finish Lipsticks. But, in order to do that, I needed to try and swatch them in real life and see the colors exactly with my own eyes. I’ve seen these lippies before and I’ve even swatched them several times before, but I just couldn’t bring myself to purchase one because I find the shades to be mostly in the reddish side. I wasn’t bothered by the texture nor the scent, but I wanted more warm neutrals, muted plums, rosewoods and brick tones in it, so I guess I waited a bit more to see if there were more shades being released.

Fortunately, it seems like Dior’s been listening and they’ve released a couple of limited edition shades every season. These shades are somewhat more inclined to my fancy and with my recent Samples of The Week Post (found HERE), I fell in love with the Rouge Dior 772 Classic Matte Shade. This whole lineup of Rouge Dior Matte Finish Lipsticks have more variety of shades now than when it was reformulated and released I think about a year ago. In fact, the whole range of Rouge Dior Lipsticks have been reformulated and enhanced with more shades to choose from. Apart from the popular matte finish, these lipsticks also come in satin finishes and shimmers as well.

Packaging is really sleek. These lipsticks come in black/silver tube with a black cap on the outside and red lining inside. I don’t dislike the scent, but some may find it to be too much. At first, I thought they smell a bit like baby powder and cotton candy, but the more I use them, I sensed the hint of musky jasmine in it. The texture can be a bit drying as I’ve said before, but it’s lightweight and pretty much long-lasting. They’re well pigmented too. Mine lasts 4-6 hours of wear with some traces of colors still visible on my lips. The price is perhaps one of the main caveat of these lipsticks. Each costs $35 so you really need to choose wisely. Other than that, I really enjoyed these lippies and I recommend them to each and every one of you.

Rouge Dior Matte Lipsticks Review

  • 772 Classic Matte – A neutral muted pinkish shade that I first fell in love with upon trying it from a sample. It’s the perfect everyday lip color and it doesn’t look over the top. Definitely a classic shade that works for any skin tone.
  • 745 Terrific Matte – A muted rosewood shade that is probably my most favorite color of all the Rouge Dior Matte Finish lipstick line. This shade might be kinda hard to find because I think this is a limited edition for Spring 2017, so I’d better stock up on this color asap.
  • 951 Absolute Matte – I love red lipsticks, but bright reds don’t love me, lol. Red bricks do. So I went and took this shade with me home. I love muted reds and this shade is the best red I could pull off.

Overall, I love these Rouge Dior Matte Lipsticks much. If you can stomach the price, I think they’re reliable and so worth it, just don’t sell your kidney for it, lol! Anyhow, I recommend you try at least one or two perhaps and see it for yourself. Alrighty?
