Lady Dior Bag Review

Lady Dior Rose Poudre

It’s been a while since I’ve done a bag review here in the blog. Well, Summer’s almost over, but Fall is coming and it’s about time to change to a different bag that’s more suitable for this upcoming season. But before I do that, I’d like to talk about my most favorite bag this Summer – the Lady Dior. This iconic bag is named after one of the most famous woman in our history, Lady D, or Lady Diana. She used to carry this purse in several of her appearances, and years later, this bag though had been reimagined or reinterpreted several times, has remained to be as beautiful and as elegant as ever, just like the woman for whom it was named after.

Lady Dior Bag Review

I got this Lady Dior bag when I was in Spain. I’ve been eyeing this bag for a long time, but I didn’t really expect to seriously get it. I’ve looked and tried this bag at different Dior stores but was kind of undecided as to what color to get since most of the shades available were just so beautiful, and that had left me undecided. I sorta had my mind on the smaller Mini Lady Dior with Chain in Lotus Pearly Cannage Lambskin, but that was too small for me and though I love the color, I decided to skip it. Since then, I’ve been thinking about the Lady Dior bag for more than a year, and for some reason, I had the feeling that I may never get this bag after all. However, a year later, I popped into a Dior store in Barcelona and I saw this beautiful Lady Dior in Rose Eclair and I immediately fell in love with it. The size was perfect for me, and I love the light pink color. I chose the patent leather since the color is bright and light, and I didn’t want it to get stained so easily. I’m a fan of patent leathers, and I’ve had good experiences with patent leather bags before, especially the Vernis leather of Louis Vuitton, and I thought the same is true with this Patent Lady Dior Bag.

Lady Dior Review

This bag’s dimension is 9.5 x 4.5 x 8 inches. This size is considered a standard medium like the original Lady Dior. This comes with a narrow removable and adjustable should strap and with a drop of approximately 23 inches. A signature D.I.O.R metallic letters serve as charms attached to the bag, and the bag itself is sporting its signature Cannage topstitching. There is a zipper closure that secures your things, however, the bag’s opening can be quite narrow, which makes it hard to see what’s inside it. It’s also kinda hard to put your hand inside it since the leather is kinda stiff, but it does get better as soon as the leather softens a little bit. Still, you kinda have to rely on your hands and try to feel the items in this bag if you need something. The bag’s handles are rounded, slim, and flat, which is nice because my arm fits through them so easily. The overall size of this bag is perfect for carrying basic necessities and there’s still room for more. Also, its weight is not too heavy and it’s not too light.

The whole look of the Lady Dior bag is just absolutely stunning and a definite head-turner. The design is gorgeous, sleek, and minimal but beautiful. A kind of bag that is very versatile and can withstand the test of time. The stitching is well done and the bag overall looks well-made. You can wear it as a shoulder bag, a handbag or as a crossbody.

Price-wise, this bag is expensive, but you’re paying for the name and the timeless yet classic elegant style. For the color, I’ve always wanted my own Lady Dior bag to be something bright since I envisioned myself to be carrying this bag for most of the Summer, and the Rose Eclair shade is just perfect for that. However, in the future, I would also like to have this bag in black which is so perfect for Fall and Winter. Oh, how I wish. Anyway, there are different colors and sizes for this bag. There’s one called “Les Larges” which obviously is a larger version of the bag in this review, another one called “Mini Lady Dior” which has a chain for a shoulder strap, and the other one is “My Lady Dior” which you can customize with badges. For me, the best size is this medium standard Lady Dior, which is not too big and not too small, and it can fit several things without looking overstuffed or feeling too heavy.

Here are the things I could fit inside this bag, also, these are the items I’ve been carrying throughout this Summer.

Lady Dior Bag review and contents

  1. Louis Vuitton Key Pouch in Damier Azur Canvas – this where I put my coins and some other little stuff I hoard (LOL), so they won’t scatter inside my bag.
  2. Marc Jacobs Enamored Hydrating Lip Gloss Stick in Candy Bling (swatched HERE)
  3. Tom Ford Ultra Shine Lip Color in Nubile (seen HERE)
  4. Clinique Chubby Stick Sculpting Highlight – my go-to stick highlighter of the moment, love this for the soft fine shimmers
  5. Nest Citrine Rollerball – one of my favorite scents this Summer (reviewed HERE)
  6. Tom Ford Liquid Matte Lip Lacquer in Pussycat (swatched HERE)
  7. Parker Pen – you’ll never know when you need to sign or write something or when somebody needs a pen, oh, and this pen writes smoothly (once a girl scout, always a girl scout, LOL)
  8. Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer in Macadamia
  9. Aesop Rind Concentrate Body Balm – favorite hand and body moisturizer, mostly use this for my hands, and can’t get enough of the scent (Aesop products reviewed HERE)
  10. Drunk Elephant Lippe Balm (reviewed HERE)
  11. Atelier Cologne Iris Rebelle Perfume Travel Spray – love the lightness of this scent
  12. Supergoop! Super Power Sunscreen Mousse Broad Spectrum SPF 50 – an easy to apply Spf that is super lightweight and non-greasy (more details HERE)
  13. Purell Hand Sanitizer
  14. Louis Vuitton 6 Key Holder
  15. Shiseido Oil-Control Blotting Paper – one of the best blotting papers I’ve ever tried (more on favorite blotting sheets HERE)
  16. Omorovicza Queen of Hungary Mist – to refresh my skin during the day

what's inside my Lady Dior bag

  1. Saint Laurent Monogram Card Case in Grain de Poudre Embossed Leather in Shocking Pink – love this card case so much, it’s very sturdy and it looks so pretty with the interlacing golden YSL initials on it. The leather is a bit stiff at first but it’s scratch-resistant because it’s grained.
  2. Tom Ford Illuminating Powder in 01 Translucent– my current on the go blotting powder to illuminate my dark undereyes and reduce shine off my face. Been testing this for a few weeks now and will review this thoroughly soon.
  3. Gucci GG Marmont card case in Dusty Pink Matelassรฉ leather – a very cute card case with a soft cushy leather. Love this color, very matchy-matchy with my Lady Dior bag, LOL.
  4. Pop up Folding Pocket Hair Brush with Mirror – I cannot emphasize how convenient and important this is and it’s very easy to toss inside your purse, also, this doesn’t occupy much space.ย
  5. Compeed – used to hoard packs of this when it was only available in Europe, thank goodness this is now available here in the USA. This is literally the best blister cushion/plaster in the market. Love this because this is a lot thicker than most blister plasters I’ve ever tried, and guess what, I still hoard several packs of this even to this day because this is so useful.

Lady Dior

I really love this Lady Dior bag and it’s one of the most beautiful bags I’ve ever owned, however, this beauty requires extreme care; First, I find the patent leather to be too delicate, compared to LV’s Vernis leather. This seems prone to color transfer especially when it gets wet or when it comes in contact with darker colors. Since this bag is in light patent leather, I have to be careful not to put this close to any dark clothing, especially dark jackets, sweaters, jeans, or coats. But it can be easy to clean with a damp cloth if the color transfer hasn’t saturated that much on the leather. Second, the patent leather can get easily scratched, so you have to be really careful when carrying this bag. For those reasons, I almost decided to sell the bag since I was doubting myself whether I could really take care of such delicate purse. I contemplated for a while, but the bag is just too beautiful to get away, so I talked to some S.A.s at Dior and followed their advice to buy a Dior Mitzah with my initials and wrap it around one of the bag’s handles in order to protect it from wear and tear, as well as from the color or moisture transfer from either my clothing or from my hand. Also, I just really have to be extra careful when handling this bag. Speaking of Mitzahs, the first Dior Mitzah I bought with my initial “L” on it has an animal print of white and green with purple and blue trees. I love it and it reminds me of Hermes Twilly only with a letter written on the end. Later on, I decided to buy another Dior Mitzah with the same ABCDior style. I was told that they now have some new designs of the Dior Mitzahs ABCDior which are inspired by the work of the French Poet and Surrealist Artist Jean Cocteau. I bought one, and though I’m not a fan of the scarf’s shade which is a little too neutral for me and too close to my bag’s color, I fell in love with its message and its very symbolic and very touching illustration, which is a woman crying inside a cage (literally the scarf has a word “Cage” on it) but then was freed and had found freedom and happiness. As of the moment, Dior also carries different colors of Mitzahs without initials, and they only carry the updated ABCDior Mitzah designs online, which are inspired by Jean Cocteau’s work. You might still be able to find the older Mitzah designs/colors in select Dior Stores.

Overall, this beautiful iconic bag is one of the easiest purses for me to carry. It’s versatile and comfortable, and it’s not too heavy and not too light. You can carry this purse in several different ways, and it matches with any outfit. This is definitely the perfect bag for a petite frame and will also look good in just about any body type, size, or height. This bag not only elevates one’s look but can also make one appear elegant and polished. A true classic that won’t go out of style.

The Lady Dior Bag, as well as the Dior Mitzahs, are currently available at Dior Boutiques or in-store at select department stores.

Loving Right Now

Diorskin Forever Undercover Concealer

Hey There! Happy Summer Everybody. Let me just update you on the latest products I’m loving right now. It’s been a while since I posted some of my recent favorite beauty and skincare finds, and I have a bunch of really interesting stuff that a lot of you may find great as well. Some of the products that I’ll be talking about are very holy grail-worthy and might put you in that vacation-ready vibe, after all, Summer is already here, right? So without further ado, check out these roundup of my latest product faves.

Herbivore Rose Quartz Illuminating Body Oil review

Herbivore Rose Quartz Illuminating Body Oil

Up first is the Herbivore Rose Quartz Illuminating Body Oil (4 oz: ($48). This millennial pink-looking body oil will not only induce you for that long overdue summer vacay, it will really put you in the mood for it. The beauty of this and the overall packaging of this oil is very Instagram-worthy, complete with its silvery smooth shimmer that is so at this moment. Its heavy glass packaging and robust sprayer are perfect for any weekend or week-long getaways. On my skin, the pinkish tinge of the oil disappears and it leaves a nice subtle shimmer that leaves my skin glistening when it gets exposed to the sun. Its glow can be blinding if you put too much but it’s a beautiful blinding and commanding glow. It may kinda feel sticky though since it’s practically a shimmery oil, but that doesn’t bother me much. There’s just one thing though, it’s the smell. It’s has a weird rosy smell, but not like a rose flower type of scent, but more like a rose branch cutting which is way too strong and might be too much for some.

Clinique Take The Day Off Cleansing Balm

For this summer, I am fan-loving the Kiehl’s Turmeric & Cranberry Seed Energizing Radiance Mask (3.4 oz: $39) which truly smells invigorating and soothing. I love the look of this mask a lot, it looks yummy and it feels really calming and hydrating on the face. It has this rich consistency along with some cranberry seeds which leaves the skin feeling supple and smooth after rinsing. The cranberry seeds might be quite a challenge to wash off but it never really bothered me since this mask is full of antioxidants and has anti-inflammatory effects due to the turmeric extract present in it.

Kiehl's Turmeric & Cranberry Seed Energizing Radiance Mask review

I scored this Clinique Take The Day Off Cleansing Balm (3.8 oz: $29.50) from the last Sephora VIB Event as a restock because this makeup remover has always been my go-to for removing any kinds of makeup, and it doesn’t have any discerning scent. It’s an original favorite of mine and it always works. I just need to put a little bit of the balm on my face and my makeup melts off easily including some stubborn eye makeup. This is great for sensitive skin and it saves you a ton of cotton pads. Also, it comes in a big tub packaging which lasts a long time.

Nest Citrine Eau de Parfum Rollerball

Two of my favorite scents this Summer are made by Nest and Chloe. I’ve been eyeing the Nest Citrine Eau de Parfum Rollerball (0.27 oz: $27) for some time, but I was also drawn to the Nest Wisteria Blue, which is still on my wishlist. Eventually, I decided to get the Citrine scent because it has this Summer-fresh sweet citrus fragrance, and I’m a sucker for anything citrusy or orangey. This scent is very irresistible, very beach-ready, and very long lasting. I just love Nest fragrances! On the other hand, the Chloe Nomade Eau de Parfum Travel Spray (0.33 oz: $28) is my signature travel scent of the moment. It is definitely one of the most unique Chloe scents I’ve tried so far and it’s just mind-blowing. It’s a blend of something woodsy, fresh, and warm floral. There is a mix of oakmoss and freesia which makes this scent nostalgia-inducing and quite complicated as well. Sometimes, it reminds me a bit of a fresh version of the YSL Black Opium – a scent invoking a dreamy escape.

Diorskin Forever Undercover Concealer in 031 Sand

There are two Dior products I’m loving lately, and the first one is the Dior Capture Totale Dreamskin Perfect Skin Cushion Broad Spectrum SPF 50 in 020 Light/Neutral (0.5 oz: $82). It’s a pricey sheer-coverage cushion foundation that’s perfect for oily skin. It’s similar to the Iope Air Cushion which is a K-beauty favorite, but this Dior one seems to last longer on me, especially when compared to some other cushions I’ve tried. This has a really lovely light floral scent and it sets immediately on my skin, leaving a poreless, matte, luminous, and glassy Kpop Idol skin effect. I tend to use this cushion for almost all of my travels as it leaves my skin looking young and fresh all the time. It also seems like there’s a lot of product in its packaging as opposed to most cushion foundations looking like they’d dry up so easily. Another Dior fave lately is the Diorskin Forever Undercover Concealer in 031 Sand: Light to Medium with Warm Yellow Undertone ($34). This concealer works very well to conceal blemishes and other imperfections, but it’s also quite similar to the Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer in terms of its texture and pigment. So if you already have the Nars concealer, you might as well skip this, unless of course, you’re loyal to Dior, LOL. I like this concealer a lot for everyday use and it doesn’t cake on me. It may not adhere very well on my face compared to the Nars Concealer, but the difference between the two is very subtle. Also, if you compare this Dior Concealer to the Tarte Shape Tape, I think the Tarte one is more pigmented. And, as with most concealers, this Dior Forever Undercover still needs to be set with a setting powder.

Gucci Audacious Color-Intense Lipstick in Ardent

For this Summer’s glow, I love the Marc Jacobs Glow Stick Glistening Illuminator in Spotlight (0.49 oz: $42). It has the most flattering universal glow that can be buildable, and it’s super easy to use. It looks like a deodorant, LOL, and it feels a bit oily texture-wise yet it’s so easy to blend out for a more natural soft-focus luminosity. Be aware though that its silvery shimmer can also be blinding depending on how much you apply on your skin. Overall, no matter how you want your glow to be, this highlighter will always make you look stunning and radiant-looking.

My favorite red lipstick of the moment is the Gucci Audacious Color-Intense Lipstick in Ardent ($39). It has the right kind of red that’s perfect for my skintone this Summer – not too intense and not too bright. It’s usually hard for me to pull off a really bright red lipstick especially during this season, but this kind of red works. It’s the ideal everyday red with medium amounts of shimmer so that it doesn’t look too metallic, and it’s great for that Ombre lip effect as well.

Yves Saint Laurent Touche Eclat All-In-One Glow in B30 Cool Almond

When it comes to foundations, there are two that I’ve been testing lately, first is the Sunday Riley The Influencer Clean Long Wear Foundation in 170 light-medium with warm beige undertone (1.08 oz: 42). This foundation is meant to have a matte finish and has some skincare benefits. I was torn between the 180 and the 170 shade, but in the end, the 170 seemed to fit me really well because it’s not as golden and not as warm as the 180. I love the texture of this foundation even though it has more of a natural finish on me, instead of being matte. The only thing that I’m kind of disappointed about this is the fact that it seems to emphasize and settle on my pores after a few hours. However, the issue is not that severe though. Another foundation that seems to be better than the Sunday Riley Influencer is the Yves Saint Laurent Touche Eclat All-In-One Glow in B30 Cool Almond (1.01 oz: $48). Though it shares the same type and shape of packaging as the Sunday Riley Influencer, this particular YSL tinted moisturizer is quite the opposite with its subtle dewy finish. It makes for a perfect everyday foundation, and it gives a nice sheer to medium flawless coverage that makes the skin look youthful and soft-looking. I like that it has the added Spf, and though it could melt off during the Summer, it’s the perfect foundation when you’re the type that likes to stay indoors with the AC blasting.

Kiehl's Lip Balm #1

Last but not the least are the two lip balms that I’ve been loving. The Kiehl’s Lip Balm #1 (0.5 oz: $9.50) is probably one of the most popular lip balms ever and it has a lot of fan-based because it simply works. By that, I mean it really repairs dry chapped lips overnight and it keeps lips hydrated for several hours. It is so moisturizing that it feels heavy and really oily on the lips to the point that it may be uncomfortable for some. I suggest using only a little bit of this so that it won’t attract your own hair or any kind of lints. My other favorite lip balm and is one that I just recently discovered and I think it’s slightly better than Kiehl’s – the Drunk Elephant Lippe Balm (0.13 oz: $18). This is probably one of the most lightweight lip balms I’ve ever tried as it feels like nothing on the lips. The packaging is cute with its large tube reminiscent of those Elmer’s Giant Glue Sticks, however, there seems to be not enough product in its packaging considering its price. But the formula of this is superb and it has no annoying scent. You can pretty much wear this all day without looking like you dipped your lips in olive oil. It is very reparative and soothing without the extra weight that most lip balms have.

Yves Saint Laurent Touche Eclat All-In-One Glow in B30 Cool Almond swatch

Bottom line, there’s a lot of holy grail-potential in these roundup of products. I for one is crazy about the Kiehl’s Turmeric and Cranberry Mask, the Nest Citrine and Chloe Nomade Scents, the YSL Touche Eclat All-One-Glow, as well as the Gucci Audacious Lipstick in Ardent. Of course, the Dior Capture Totale Perfect Cushion is wonderful too, and you gotta try the Drunk Elephant Lippe Balm.

I have compiled some products that I’ve always wanted to purchase but never really made up my mind about them or was sort of holding back just because I was waiting for this sale to happen. A lot of these products are the luxe ones that are too costly especially if you wanna buy them in several shades. Ready to check what’s on my Wishlist? Here they are…

  1. Tom Ford Lip Lacquer ($54) – I’ve got my eyes set on these new-released lip indulgence from TF. I’ve tried these at Nordies before and I already have the Pussycat shade as well. I had to stop myself from trying more because of the upcoming Sephora Beauty Inside Event. So far, my first impression of these Lip Lacquers is really positive. They come in 3 finishes; Matte, Metallic, and High Shine.

  1. Anastasia Beverly Hills Soft Glam Eyeshadow Palette ($42) – There’s no other Spring-released eyeshadow palette that interests me other than this Anastasia Soft Glam. From its suede packaging to the wearable colors of each pan, this palette is just perfect for everyday eye makeup wear.

  1. Tom Ford Soleil Blanc Shimmering Body Oil ($100) – I’ve been looking into this for quite a while now since I’m starting to get into body oils. This smelled really nice at the store and it has a pretty good amount of shimmer. Just that price though.

  1. Tatcha Luminous Dewy Skin Mask (1 for $12, 4 for $45) – This is Tatcha’s newly-released face mask and as a Tatcha lover, I’m pretty excited what this is all about and I want to see whether my skin is going like it or not. I bet this smells divine too.

  1. Tom Ford Boys & Girls Lip Color (0.07 oz: $36) – I’m looking forward to purchasing some of the Girls shade as I skipped on them before. It looks to me that the Girls have a much better color pay off compared to the Boys. They seem to be more long-wearing as well.

  1. Peter Thomas Roth FIRMx Peeling Gel (3.4 oz: $48) – Got a sample of this from my Sephora Play a few months ago and I love it. It takes away dead skin cells and it makes the face really smooth. So I need to get this in a larger size.

  1. Drunk Elephant C-Tango Multivitamin Eye Cream (0.5 oz: $64) – This eye cream seems really promising. It combines Vitamin C and Peptides which are really great for the skin. I’m curious how it works compared to the popular Olehenriksen Banana Bright Eye Cream.

  1. Tatcha The Silk Canvas Protective Primer (0.7 oz: $52) – This is currently sold out and a lot of people are raving about this primer. I’m curious if this really holds the makeup longer, and how velvety the finish would be given my oily-prone skin type. I also really like the way it smells when I tried it in-store. It’s like finally, a primer that smells good, so I need to get my hands on this soon.

  1. Farmacy The Mighties Kit ($45) – I’ve been really liking the Farmacy products lately, especially when I got a sample of the Honey Drop Lightweight Moisturizer and the Honey Potion Mask. They feel so smooth and so moisturizing on the skin. Applying them is such a soothing experience, and this set is gonna be a real treat if you love this brand.

  1. Hourglass Vanish Flash Highlighting Stick (0.21 oz: $42) – I love Hourglass Cosmetics because their products are not only beautiful, they also make you look beautiful in them. This Highlighting Stick feels so creamy and so beautifully shimmery when I tried it in-store. I have my eyes on the Champagne and Gold Flash shades.

  1. Herbivore Rose Hibiscus Coconut Water Hydrating Face Mist (4 oz: $32) – I’ve never tried any Herbivore products before, and I’ve heard a lot of good things about this Rose Hibiscus Coconut Face Mist. I seem to like its combination of ingredients and as a face mist fanatic, I would really like to have this.

  1. Anastasia Beverly Hills Amrezy Highlighter (0.31 oz: $28) – Didn’t really care much about this before as I was more focused on the ABH Soft Glam Eyeshadow Palette, but when I swatched this in-store I was immediately blown away. The golden shimmer is beautifully wearable, it’s glitzy and blinding but in a soft and natural way. Now I need this.

  1. Marc Jacobs Beauty Glow Stick Glistening Illuminator (0.49 oz: $42) – This has been out for a long time and I’ve always wanted it. Every time I see this in the store, my heart breaks because its glow is so beautiful and so bold, and I feel like this time I’ve got to have this, you’ll never know when the situation calls for a dramatic glow highlighter.

  1. Drunk Elephant Lippe Balm (0.13 oz: $18) – Been having some chapped lips issue lately due to the dry cold weather, and a lot of people are recommending me this. They said it’s effective and it works especially during dry lip seasons. So off this goes to my cart.

  1. Chloรฉ Nomade Eau de Parfum (mini/travel: $28, 1 oz: $75, 1.7 oz: $105, 2.5 oz: $132) – Ever since sniffing this in a magazine, I knew this scent is going to be perfect for me and it’s going to be a hit for everyone. I got a sample of this in-store as well and it’s really good. It’s not the typical Chloe scent, it’s more of a soft slightly sweet floral with something green and fresh. It’s different and unique.

  1. Tom Ford Ultra Shine Lip Color ($54) – Heard very good news about this “another latest” from Tom Ford. They said all the shades in this range are so good, you can’t miss it. The pigments and longevity seem to be the big plus on this one. So I have my eyes set on the Nubile, Exuberant, and Luscious shade.

  1. Dior Diorskin Forever Undercover Concealer ($34) – I’m really curious about this particular concealer. I have a feeling that it’s gonna be a really good one. But why do I feel like it might be similar to the Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer? or at least that’s how I felt when I tried this in-store a few days ago. Oh well, let’s see when it finally reaches my home soon.

  1. Hermรจs Eau de Pamplemousse Rose (3.3 oz Eau de Cologne Spray: $130, 3.3 oz Concentrate Eau de Toilette Spray: $138) – In-store, this was love at first spritz. Love the light citrusy floral smell. It’s an airy scent that is simple yet very dreamy. A perfect scent for this Spring and Summer. Definitely a must-have.

So, there you go guys, that’s what’s on my wishlist, but I bet that it’s only gonna be the first part. LOL. If you’re gonna be shopping online for the Sephora Beauty Inside Event this week or next week, use the code YAYROUGE for Rouge Members, YAYVIB for VIB Members and YAYINSIDER for BI Members. For in-store shopping, present the card they sent you by mail at checkout.
