Pantene Rose Water Collection Review

Hey guys! I’m back with another round of Pantene hair care review. If you have been following my previous posts, you’d know that I reviewed two of the Pantene Pro-V Blends haircare products like the Micellar Shampoo and Conditioner (seen HERE), as well as the Charcoal Purifying Root Wash and Renewing Cream Rinse (reviewed HERE). This time, we’ll be talking about the latest from the Pro-V Blends line, the Pantene Rose Water Collection (Twin Pack/17.99 oz: $19.99).

I’ve always wanted to test this particular Pantene haircare line because I had such a great experience with their Micellar and the Charcoal shampoo and conditioner. Also, with all the latest trend in skincare nowadays, the rose water is definitely having its moment. So, if it’s good for the face, it must be good for the hair as well. Why not? Right?

According to Pantene, the Rose Water Collection is meant to “help soothe and rehydrate hair so you can look your best with moisturized, petal soft hair”. It contains no sulfates, no silicones, no parabens, and definitely no dyes nor mineral oil. Packaging-wise, it’s really beautiful with its pinkish rose petal bottle that is totally Instagramable. For its price, well, it’s very affordable and it’s relatively easy to find.

However, I do have mixed feelings about this particular Pantene haircare line. First off, let’s start with the scent. This line smells pretty much like the rest of the Pantene Pro-V Blends, there is not much distinction fragrance-wise between this and the Micellar ones. The Charcoal ones smell the same too, but at least you could discern a hint of charcoal in it. This one doesn’t smell like a rose at all. I feel like Pantene could do a much better job at developing the fragrance of this.

The Rose Water Shampoo (10.1 oz: $5.99, 17.9 oz: $9.99) has a gel-like consistency and it’s meant to be a moisturizing shampoo. While it does feel moisturizing on my hands and right when I applied it on my hair, I seem to notice that this doesn’t lather very well compared to most moisturizing shampoos I’ve tried before, and even more so when compared with most core or regular Pantene haircare. I don’t know what’s in this, I know this feels really moisturizing while I lather this on my strands, but this feels like an oil slipping through my hair. It’s like my hair is not getting a thorough cleanse. As I kept lathering, I did kinda notice a very very faint scent of something earthy and rosy, but it’s almost hard to notice.

The Rose Water Conditioner (10.1 oz: $5.99, 17.9 oz: $9.99) on the other hand, feels much better than the shampoo version above, but it isn’t as creamy as I would have wanted. It does condition the hair but the scent is pretty much the same as the shampoo, and I feel like this pretty much feels like a standard conditioner. I feel like some other drugstore conditioners could do a much better job than this.

With those being said, a couple of minutes after washing my hair, my strands felt dry, especially at the roots. I have never experienced this with any moisturizing shampoo before. I had to literally use a leave-in conditioner in order to add more moisture to my strands. It’s kind of a bummer because this Pantene Rose Water Collection is meant to restore or add moisture to the hair, but I feel like the Micellar Collection and the Charcoal Collection (my most favorite) can do a much better job than this. So, if you’re looking for a good drugstore moisture shampoo/conditioner, I’ve had a good experience with L’oreal Evercreme Deep Nourish Shampoo and Conditioner. For the high-end ones, I like the Alterna Caviar Anti-Aging Replenishing Shampoo + Conditioner (reviewed HERE), as well as the Kerastase Discipline Sulfate-Free Smoothing Shampoo (seen HERE).

Klorane Dry Shampoo Review

Happy Tuesday to each and every one. I hope your week is off to a good start. A few weeks ago, I did a roundup of my favorite dry shampoos which you can check out HERE. In that post, I promised to tell you more about my favorite Klorane Dry Shampoos which I also love and use even to these days. In fact, it’s Klorane that made me like and explore dry shampoos even more. So, without further ado, here’s my take of this brand’s dry shampoos and read what I like about each of them.

Klorane Dry Shampoo with Oat Milk (mini/1 oz: $10, 3.2 oz: $20) – This is the first Klorane Dry Shampoo I’ve tried and I fell in love with this immediately right after the first spray. It contains corn and rice starch with organic oat milk which really works wonders on the hair and it’s gentle on the scalp and strands. The scent has green notes but it’s not crazy overpowering like most dry shampoos out there. What I love the most about this original Klorane Dry Shampoo is that it really makes the hair look clean, volumized, and refreshed. It’s not meant for super oily hair but it eliminates excess oil off my hair which already has a tendency to get oily pretty easily. Also, this Allure Best of Beauty winner is perfect for color-treated hair and for any hair types. It does not contain any Parabens, SLES, Sulfates, and even Formaldehydes. Additionally, I find that this product doesn’t really leave any visible whitish or chalky residue on my jet black hair which is a huge plus for me because sometimes dealing with these residues can take some time.

Klorane Dry Shampoo with Oat Milk Natural Tint (mini/1 oz: $10, 3.2 oz: $20) – This has the same ingredients and scent as the original Klorane Oat Milk Dry Shampoo above, only except this version contains beige powder (instead of white) and it’s meant to blend naturally with dark hair. To be honest, the natural beige tint of this dry shampoo is a nice bonus, but as what I’ve said before, the original Klorane Dry Shampoo above, with its whitish powder, doesn’t really leave any visible chalky residue on the hair. So, if you already have the original Klorane dry shampoo above, then you can pretty much skip this tinted one or vice versa. But if you’re like me and you wanna be safe, you can buy a mini size of this dry shampoo and keep it in your purse for emergencies.

Klorane Dry Shampoo with Nettle Oil Control (mini/1 oz: $10, 3.2 oz: $20) – I got this out of curiosity just to see if this really works as promised. Also, I wanted to test if this could actually deal with my tendency-to-get-really-greasy hair. 🙂 With ingredients like the two Klorane Dry Shampoos above plus Nettle Extract which promotes hair growth and hair health, I do believe this works like a charm in controlling excess hair oil even after two days of having an unwashed hair, and it does add volume as well. I would have loved this a lot, but this does leave some whitish residue on the hair right after spraying. However, the chalky residue goes away pretty easily, you just gotta let it settle on your hair for a few seconds and then massage lightly onto scalp, then blend and brush your hair. Lately, I noticed that there’s a newer version of this dry shampoo and it’s meant for dark hair, you can see it HERE. So, when I’m done with this, I’m definitely getting that version for sure. Just like with the two Klorane Dry Shampoos above, this Nettle Oil Control Dry Shampoo is also great for color-treated hair and it’s free of Sulfates, SLES, Parabens, Formaldehyde, etc.

Bottom line, I really like using these Klorane Dry Shampoos not only because they truly make the hair look clean and renewed, but also because they just feel light in terms of their scent and the way they feel on my hair. I just wish their bottles could get a little bit bigger so I could get more use out of them.

Dry Shampoo Favorites

Dry shampoos are for me those things I try to avoid using as much as I can, but it’s always a good idea to have them for convenience because you’ll never know when life happens and you won’t have the time to wash your hair. For me, they’re not only a time-saver, but they’re also a life-saver. They help to make me look human in times of busy days, sick days, or whatever it is that has kept me busy which therefore prevented me from cleaning my hair.

I honestly don’t like the feeling of using dry shampoos on my hair, not to mention any hairsprays or any additional hair products that could weigh down my strands because my hair is quite flat and straight. So, most of the time I prefer to wash my hair every day. But you know, things don’t always go as planned, and also, there are times when you just don’t feel like moving or doing anything and you opted not to shower. Yeah, we’ve all been there, after all, we’re just humans in this world, right?

I’m very picky with dry shampoos. I don’t like anything with a strong lingering and overpowering scent, and they may require a messy application and leaves messy powdery white residues that could stick to my clothes. I mostly wear dark solid colors and I don’t want to spend some time dusting these residues off my clothes when I’ve got somewhere else I need to be asap. Because of these reasons, there’s literally only four brands of dry shampoos that I like so far. I tried two dry shampoos from some other brands before but I got disappointed. So, I’ve been sticking with these four.

Here now are my four favorite dry shampoos as of the moment.

Dove Beauty Refresh + Care Detox & Purify Dry Shampoo (5oz: $4.89) – My first favorite dry shampoo and one of my fave drugstore finds. This dry shampoo is affordable, easy to find, and it works. It may not work as well as the high-end dry shampoos, but it gets the job done. It’s perfect for a hair that is unwashed for a day, but after two days, this may not be that good at absorbing oil anymore. Well, it depends, if you have normal hair, this might work for up to two days, but on me, this doesn’t help much if I go on two days without cleaning my hair. The scent of this is nice, kind of like perfumey fresh and it doesn’t leave any residue. FYI, I will be reviewing more types of this Dove dry shampoo soon, so stay tuned for that.

Klorane Dry Shampoo with Oat Milk (1 oz: $10, 3.2 oz: $20) – This is the dry shampoo that impressed me immediately after spraying it on my hair. I love this a lot because this has a mild scent and it works well at absorbing oil from my hair. It also doesn’t weigh my hair down, and it can make my hair look clean and normal up to the second day without washing it. It also makes my hair look a bit volumized. This also doesn’t leave any residue but I don’t like that the regular/large size of this is a bit small for its price. Also, this dry shampoo used to be so easy to locate at my local Sephora, but now I have to order this in Sephora online or at Amazon. There are also other types of Klorane Dry Shampoo available, so I will be reviewing them as well here in the blog pretty soon.

Oribe Gold Lust Dry Shampoo (1.3 oz: $22, 6 oz: $44) – This is a luxurious dry shampoo with a very luxurious scent. It doesn’t leave any residue on the hair and its packaging is large. For me, this restores the look and volume of my hair and it makes it look really clean, crisp and airy. On the second day, with my hair being oily and all, this was almost impossible to work with and that’s after putting a lot of it on my strands. I can totally understand why some people gave this dry shampoo some lukewarm reviews. I think because this is a bit mild for those with oily-prone hair like mine. I believe this would work best if you have a normal hair type. Nevertheless, this dry shampoo is one of the best out there.

IGK First Class Charcoal Detox Dry Shampoo (2 oz: $14, 6.3 oz: $27) – This is a superb dry shampoo that doesn’t have a very strong scent. Instead, it smells fresh and it leaves no residue. I love its large packaging and for its price, I feel like this is probably the best dry shampoo out there, especially in terms of its performance. This makes my hair look totally clean and fresh-looking, not just for one day without washing it, but even up to the second. This can definitely handle a greasy hair, although I think you may need to put a lot of it somehow. Overall, this gives me that normal-looking hair with some volumizing effects.
