The Briogeo Scalp Revival Experience

briogeo scalp revival haircare

Hello there! Suffering from hair and scalp issues this Winter? This is going to be an exciting review because I teamed up with Briogeo to feature their full Scalp Revival Line. During this cold and dry season, our hair and scalp can suffer a lot. They can go awry due to fluctuating temps and unpredictable weather conditions. Which means they could overreact in different ways. For example, our scalp may get very dry, flaky, and itchy, while our hair could get very oily and sticky, sending our sebaceous glands in overwork mode.

Briogeo, a brand known for its clean natural haircare and scalp care, has some products to address the hair and scalp issues I mentioned above. Let’s take a look at them below.

Briogeo Scalp Revival Charcoal + Coconut Oil Micro-exfoliating Shampoo review

Scalp Revival Charcoal + Coconut Oil Micro-exfoliating Shampoo (8 oz: 42 USD) – This charcoal and coconut exfoliating shampoo is one-of-a-kind. First of all, I love the amazing peppermint scent of this that awakens my senses every time I use this on my hair. Second, this is a charcoal shampoo that detoxifies and removes excess oil from the hair without making the strands dry because this has coconut oil in it. Third, this is micro-exfoliating, which means this isn’t very gritty on the strands and on the scalp, and that helps to prevent extra dryness. This shampoo is not just a shampoo, this is also a treatment to restore the health of hair by removing product buildup, delivering hydration, and soothing the scalp. I find that this works really well in combination with the Briogeo Scalp Revival Stimulating Therapy Massager below in order to remove scalp flakiness and restore normal hair and scalp health. This product is made of clean ingredients and is an Allure Best of Beauty winner.

Briogeo Scalp Revival Stimulating Therapy Massager review

Scalp Revival Stimulating Therapy Massager (16 USD) – This massager is great for any hair type and this works really well for my straight hair without pulling any strands. This can be used on dry scalp or wet scalp and this helps to increase circulation on the roots, thus, making the entire scalp and hair more healthy in the long run. On top of that, the soft spiky rubber tips feel really relaxing on the head. I find that this scalp massager can be used with just about any haircare products, but this works really well in partner with Briogeo’s Scalp Revival Charcoal + Coconut Oil Micro-Exfoliating Shampoo for that complete relaxing hair and scalp treatment experience. Tip: When using this, try not to make large circular massage motions as you could tangle your hair. Just massage with medium pressure using semi-circular strokes especially if you have long hair.

how to use briogeo Scalp Revival Charcoal + Tea Tree Scalp Treatment

Scalp Revival Charcoal + Tea Tree Scalp Treatment (1 oz: 32 USD) – This vegan, cruelty-free, silicon-free scalp oil treatment is another awarded product from Briogeo which aims to sooth dry itchy flaky and irritated scalp by delivering hydration and restoring normal scalp health. The ingredients herein are tea tree oil, peppermint/spearmint oil, witch hazel, aloe, and biotin among other things. This aims to soothe irritated dry scalp, normalize its oil production, and promote healthy hair follicles. This scalp treatment is great for all hair types and the scent is not overwhelming. I use this by parting my damp hair in sections and adding a few drops of this treatment to my scalp and roots. I noticed a slight tingling sensation at first, followed by a slight cooling effect on my scalp. Then I massage (using my fingers or the Briogeo scalp massager above) my scalp with this treatment (do not rinse) and so far, I haven’t noticed any flakiness or dryness on my roots at all. Also, this didn’t weigh my hair down, and even though this is an oil treatment, this doesn’t feel very oily at all, and my hair didn’t look greasy as well, not even the following day.

briogeo Scalp Revival Charcoal + Biotin Dry Shampoo review

Scalp Revival Charcoal + Biotin Dry Shampoo (1.7 oz: 24 USD) – This non-aerosolized dry shampoo is very interesting to use and has a very pleasing scent. I love that this has charcoal, clay, tapioca, and rice starch that absorb excess oil and draw out impurities from the roots, thus, making the hair look more refreshed and clean. This also has witch hazel to soothe the scalp and biotin to promote healthy hair follicles. To use this, just shake the bottle first, then twist the cap to open. Aim it at least 5 inches away from your roots, and gently squeeze it to release the powder. Try not to squeeze too fast and too soon or else this product will release too much powder and smoke. I usually let this dry shampoo sit on my roots for about a minute or two before slightly massaging and brushing my hair until the powdery residue is gone. At first, this dry shampoo may look like this will leave a whitish residue on the hair, but once you let this settle and massage this on the roots, then the residue will go away easily. I love the slight lifting effect that this gives on my roots and the way this makes my hair look clean. This product is also made of clean ingredients and is great for all hair types.

Dry Shampoo Favorites

top dry shampoo

Dry shampoos are for me those things I try to avoid using as much as I can, but it’s always a good idea to have them for convenience because you’ll never know when life happens and you won’t have the time to wash your hair. For me, they’re not only a time-saver, but they’re also a life-saver. They help to make me look human in times of busy days, sick days, or whatever it is that has kept me busy which therefore prevented me from cleaning my hair.

I honestly don’t like the feeling of using dry shampoos on my hair, not to mention any hairsprays or any additional hair products that could weigh down my strands because my hair is quite flat and straight. So, most of the time I prefer to wash my hair every day. But you know, things don’t always go as planned, and also, there are times when you just don’t feel like moving or doing anything and you opted not to shower. Yeah, we’ve all been there, after all, we’re just humans in this world, right?

I’m very picky with dry shampoos. I don’t like anything with a strong lingering and overpowering scent, and they may require a messy application and leaves messy powdery white residues that could stick to my clothes. I mostly wear dark solid colors and I don’t want to spend some time dusting these residues off my clothes when I’ve got somewhere else I need to be asap. Because of these reasons, there’s literally only four brands of dry shampoos that I like so far. I tried two dry shampoos from some other brands before but I got disappointed. So, I’ve been sticking with these four.

Here now are my four favorite dry shampoos as of the moment.

Dove Beauty Refresh + Care Detox & Purify Dry Shampoo

Dove Beauty Refresh + Care Detox & Purify Dry Shampoo (5oz: $4.89) – My first favorite dry shampoo and one of my fave drugstore finds. This dry shampoo is affordable, easy to find, and it works. It may not work as well as the high-end dry shampoos, but it gets the job done. It’s perfect for a hair that is unwashed for a day, but after two days, this may not be that good at absorbing oil anymore. Well, it depends, if you have normal hair, this might work for up to two days, but on me, this doesn’t help much if I go on two days without cleaning my hair. The scent of this is nice, kind of like perfumey fresh and it doesn’t leave any residue. FYI, I will be reviewing more types of this Dove dry shampoo soon, so stay tuned for that.

Klorane Dry Shampoo with Oat Milk (1 oz: $10, 3.2 oz: $20) – This is the dry shampoo that impressed me immediately after spraying it on my hair. I love this a lot because this has a mild scent and it works well at absorbing oil from my hair. It also doesn’t weigh my hair down, and it can make my hair look clean and normal up to the second day without washing it. It also makes my hair look a bit volumized. This also doesn’t leave any residue but I don’t like that the regular/large size of this is a bit small for its price. Also, this dry shampoo used to be so easy to locate at my local Sephora, but now I have to order this in Sephora online or at Amazon. There are also other types of Klorane Dry Shampoo available, so I will be reviewing them as well here in the blog pretty soon.

IGK First Class Charcoal Detox Dry Shampoo review

Oribe Gold Lust Dry Shampoo (1.3 oz: $22, 6 oz: $44) – This is a luxurious dry shampoo with a very luxurious scent. It doesn’t leave any residue on the hair and its packaging is large. For me, this restores the look and volume of my hair and it makes it look really clean, crisp and airy. On the second day, with my hair being oily and all, this was almost impossible to work with and that’s after putting a lot of it on my strands. I can totally understand why some people gave this dry shampoo some lukewarm reviews. I think because this is a bit mild for those with oily-prone hair like mine. I believe this would work best if you have a normal hair type. Nevertheless, this dry shampoo is one of the best out there.

IGK First Class Charcoal Detox Dry Shampoo (2 oz: $14, 6.3 oz: $27) – This is a superb dry shampoo that doesn’t have a very strong scent. Instead, it smells fresh and it leaves no residue. I love its large packaging and for its price, I feel like this is probably the best dry shampoo out there, especially in terms of its performance. This makes my hair look totally clean and fresh-looking, not just for one day without washing it, but even up to the second. This can definitely handle a greasy hair, although I think you may need to put a lot of it somehow. Overall, this gives me that normal-looking hair with some volumizing effects.

Do you have any personal favorites when it comes to dry shampoos? Do you use any dry shampoo at all?

Pantene Micellar Shampoo & Conditioner Review

Pantene Micellar Conditioner Gentle Moisturizing Milk, Pantene Micellar Shampoo Gentle Cleansing Water

I’ve been a fan of Pantene hair care products since my childhood years and even nowadays it’s still one of my go-to brands for hair care products that actually work and with such affordable price tags. I was so excited when they released their Micellar Collection and was determined to try them as soon as possible. I’ve been testing their Micellar Shampoo and Conditioner and I am so impressed! For such low price points, these breakthrough hair care collection from Pantene is totally worth the try. If you love using Micellar Water to remove your makeup because it’s mild and it can remove impurities from the skin without drying it, then you’re gonna love this particular collection of Micellar haircare.

Pantene Micellar Shampoo Gentle Cleansing Water

Micellar Shampoo Gentle Cleansing Water (10.1 oz: $5.99, 17.9 oz: $9.99)

This Micellar Shampoo lathers well and it has a nice light floral scent. The consistency is very much like a clear lightweight gel, and it is nutrient-infused with antioxidants. It has no parabens, dyes or silicones, and most importantly, this shampoo is gentle for daily use and it doesn’t dry the hair nor strip it of its natural moisture. This is great for any hair types, but also especially great for oily hair. For me, personally, I use this as a clarifying/cleansing shampoo in conjunction with my moisturizing shampoo. Though I also use this daily from time to time and noticed that this is actually gentle on my hair without any dryness noticed. I love this shampoo a lot since this thoroughly cleanses every strand of my mane and since it’s gel-like, it’s doesn’t leave any weight to my hair.

Pantene Micellar Collection Review

Micellar Conditioner Gentle Moisturizing Milk (10.1 oz: $5.99, 17.9 oz: $9.99)

This Micellar Conditioner also has a light clean floral scent like the Micellar Shampoo, but this has a creamy formulation. Even though it’s creamy, it still feels a lot lighter than most conditioners I’ve tried, and it’s also nutrient and antioxidant-infused. There are no harsh ingredients like parabens or dyes and that means this conditioner conditions hair gently while removing extra oils and impurities from the hair. I love how this leaves my hair looking well-cleaned, tamed and conditioned without making it heavy or oily, and for that, my hair still looks clean, bouncy and non-greasy even for the next day.

Pantene Micellar Conditioner Gentle Moisturizing Milk

If you love mild hair care products that cleanse the hair thoroughly from root to tips without the dryness, then I definitely recommend this Pantene Micellar Shampoo and Conditioner. These get a thumbs up for me. Not only are these gentle for everyday use, but these also make the hair look bouncy volumized and also, these smell great. On top of that, each bottle comes in an easy-to-dispense pump and with an affordable price tag. For those reasons, I recommend this Pantene Micellar Collection.

I will be investigating their Charcoal Collection as well and will update you guys pretty soon.

The Pantene Micellar Collection is currently available at Target, Amazon, and in most groceries/drugstores everywhere.
