Happy New Year friends! What a terrible previous year we had. Iโm hoping and wishing for better days ahead as we start this promising new year. Speaking of new year, here are my new Glossier skincare haul.
Balm Dotcom โ This might be my most favorite product from Glossier ever, and that is because Iโm able to use the balm for different purposes. Be it as a lip balm, a sheer lip color, or as a skin salve. Each of the balm has different scents/flavors and each are so fun to use. Youโll never get bored using them.
Berry โ Sheer berry tint. The strong berry scent of this is yummy and irresistible.
Wild Fig โ Deep coral tint. This is the latest addition in Glossierโs Balm Dotcoms and itโs really good. Much like the Berry one, this is also irresistibly sweet in scent.
Mango – Sheer rose tint. A repeat purchase for me. The fresh sweet mango scent of this awakens you right after twisting the cap and itโs so good. Words cannot describe how amazing this is.
Exfoliating Skin Perfector โ Exfoliating toners are trending in the skincare world nowadays and thereโs a reason why โ they really help to reduce blackheads and they give you a nice glow. I have my favorites in exfoliating toners for sure and will be talking about them here in the blog soon. One of my faves is actually this Glossier Skin Perfector, which is not only convenient to use, it also works well at purifying the pores and getting rid of dead skin cells. This product has powerful Alpha Hydroxy Acid (AHA), Beta Hydroxy Acid (BHA), and Polyhydroxy Acid (PHA), as well as Salicylic Acid. I really love this a lot and I can use this everyday (once a day) without any issues.
Zit Stick โ At first glance, this blemish eraser stick spells convenience to me. However, it may not be as practical to use as you may think. Yes, itโs a twist-to-release type of product, pretty much like using a pen applicator, yet itโs not really as easy as it looks. For a while, I thought I got a broken product or the packaging just simply doesnโt work. But as it turns out, itโs going to take some serious twisting and churning at the other end of the packaging, in order to see some products coming out. For me, it works as it is expected because it has 5% Benzoyl Peroxide and Salicylic Acid to combat any raging pimples.
Bottom line, I love Glossier skincare products and I love that they try to be on trend and innovative with their stuff. I definitely recommend that you try the products above if you havenโt already. I will be removing more Glossier products soon.
It’s been a while since I reviewed some Glossier products. The last time I talked about them was when I was just getting to know their stuff. You can check out that review HERE. Since then, I’ve fallen in love with Glossier. I always reach out for their products whenever I feel like I wanted something light, easy, and natural to use. Even during this Summer, I always have a glossier product in my purse, and lately, I’ve been loving their Cloud Paints (0.33 oz: $18) for that sheer and breezy pop of color on the cheeks, as well as their Balm Dotcoms (0.5 oz: $12) for that multipurpose lip and skin moisturization.
Over time, I’ve collected a few more shades of the Glossier Balm Dotcoms as well as the Cloud Paints. What I love about the Balm Dotcoms are their versatility. I could either use them as a lip balm or as a skin cream and boy, do they smell so good. Each tube is pretty much a sensory experience. You can definitely smell the true scents of cherry, birthday cake, mint, etc. among other things. Try using these balms at night, and you will feel like you’re being transported somewhere dreamy, delicious, and nice. LOL. For me, these Balm Dotcoms are probably one of the best lip balms I’ve ever tried since they not only have that nice flavoring, they’re also very soothing and hydrating on the lips. The formula is perfect for restoring dry chapped lips to a hydrated one overnight. They also aide in softly removing dead skin cells as well as retaining the skin’s moisture. The consistency is very creamy, dense yet feels lightweight, and non-sticky. There are several flavors/shades to choose from, ranging from untinted to a sheer tint. The packaging is also cute and pretty much easy to carry everywhere.
Rose – smells like a true rose with a subtle pink tint
Cherry – strong bubblegum cherry with a sheer reddish tint
Birthday – delicious birthday cake with very subtle shimmer and slightly exfoliating (sugar bits). No tint.
Mint – true peppermint scent that feels cooling. No tint.
As for the Cloud Paints, they’re pretty much foolproof to use, and you can never apply too much since they’re easy to correct. They’re not the type of liquid blushes that are super staining. Instead, their pigments are sheer but buildable, kinda like being lit from within, or having that natural flush. There are several shades to suit everyone’s skin tone, plus there are two new shades that have been added recently to this Glossier liquid blush lineup – the Dawn and Storm shades, which I haven’t tried yet, but I will pretty soon. The formula is not very liquid, but more of a very lightweight creamy gel. It’s very easy to spread and blend around the cheeks and you can pretty much build its intensity. I didn’t notice any scent and it’s perfect to wear if you have oily skin. The overall effect of these liquid blushes is very natural.
Overall, I am deeply in love with these Glossier Cloud Paints and Balm Dotcoms. As someone with an oily skin type and with a tendency to have dry lips, these products are heaven-sent. I love that they’re affordable, that they come in several colors and the fact that their packaging is SO cute. Also, if you buy Glossier’s products, you’ll get a free pink bubble pouch which is perfect for traveling or for just storing and organizing your favorite makeup and skincare.
Are you into the gloss?

There’s something about Glossier products that makes me so curious and excited. I don’t really know what it is, but seeing their products just brightens up my day. Perhaps it’s their minimalist sleek packaging. Perhaps it’s that functional and cute pink pouch that you can reuse anywhere and everywhere. Or perhaps, just because their products are so girly and pinky that I just love their overall vibe.
I’ve never tried any Glossier products before so it’s definitely new to me. I’ve always wanted to try their products and see for myself what they’re like as many people have raved about them, not to mention that pink pouch that I so wanna touch and I’ve always wanted a few to reuse especially for when I’m traveling.
So, I finally visited Glossier’s website and ordered a few stuff to try.
Check out what I got:
Cloud Paint in Haze (0.33 oz: $18) – This cutely-packaged cheek color or cheek tint in Haze is so well-pigmented that you need to be really careful as to how much you’re putting on your cheeks, or else you’ll look like Pikachu. LOL. I didn’t notice any scent with this and I like that this is pretty much easy to use and it gives a nice healthy flush on the face. It’s also easy to blend with just your fingers and it’s quite long lasting. One of the best cheek tint I’ve ever tried.
Generation G Lip Color in Leo (0.07 oz: $18) – I’ve been curious about this particular lip product and have been eyeing the Leo shade for quite some time. My initial reaction with this is that it seems like a matte lip sheer or lip tint with a slight clayish scent. It’s not quite pigmented, especially the Leo shade, which is a very sheer medium brown. I could still see my lipsโ natural pigment even after several swipes of this. It can be a bit drying with time but it sort of lasted for 2-3 hours on me after eating with the color being almost gone. I wish this was more pigmented and more moisturizing. Actually, with its packaging and the Leo shade, it kinda reminds me of Clinique Almost Lipstick in Black Honey. But the Clinique one is much more moisturizing and well-pigmented than this.
Balm Dotcom in Cherry (0.5 oz: $12) – There were other shades in this cute-looking balm or salve, but I picked the shade Cherry because I thought the rest of the shades may not show up on my skin, not knowing that the formula itself will also smell like Cherry as well. This balm is very versatile that you can use it as a lip tint and a lip balm at the same time (tinted versions). You can also use it as a moisturizer or as a hand/foot cream if you get the untinted ones. It’s really hydrating and I love the strong yet delightful Cherry scent. The packaging is also cute and ideal for traveling. In fact, I like this a lot that I plan to purchase another shade/scent, which is called Rose.
Milk Jelly Cleanser (6 oz: $18) – A milky gel cleanser that can work as a daily facial wash or as makeup remover when used on dry skin. Although waterproof eyeliners and mascaras may require a few more rubbing, yet this cleaner is quite versatile and time-saving. It also feels really mild and gentle on the skin even though it has a sort of silicone scent which I don’t really like. I wish they’d given this a much cleaner or fresher scent but for its texture and formulation, this cleanser is definitely soft and ideal for sensitive skin. It didn’t give me any breakouts and my skin feels baby soft after using this. Although, I didn’t really feel like it thoroughly cleaned my pores and wash out excess oil. So, I think I’d use this on colder and drier months.
Priming Moisturizer (1.7 oz: $22) – This feels like a basic lightweight moisturizer that truly hydrates the skin with a bit of a sunscreen scent, even though it doesn’t really have any Spf. It’s great for sensitive skin and it feels really mild. My skin absorbs this easily and it does seem to keep my makeup set to last for the day. The consistency is quite similar to First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Cream, but with slightly stronger scent.
Pink Bubble Pouch – Comes free with every order. I wish I purchased the three-pcs bundle way back when Glossier used to sell them that way. From afar, these look like pretty ordinary pink bubblewrap pouches that kinda looks weak. I didn’t really understand the appeal of this at the beginning, as it just looks pink and cute. But when I finally held one in my hands, that’s when I realized how useful and pretty this pouch is. It feels actually robust with its thick double plastic case that secures the pink bubble wrap in the middle, protecting your things and belongings especially when you’re traveling. It’s a much better alternative to the usual ziplock. The only caveat is the zip itself, which might break with time. I wonder how did Glossier make it or where it was made because I so wanted MORE. In fact, I don’t mind buying Glossier products just so I could get their cute pouches, lol.
If you’re into the Gloss (the makers of Glossier), but you’re not sure which products to buy, they have 2 sets that they recommend for you to start with. The Phase 1 set has; the Milk Jelly Cleanser, the Priming Moisturizer, and a Balm Dotcom (your choice of flavor/shade). While the Phase 2 set has; the Boy Brow, Stretch Concealer, and Generation G Lip Color (your choice of shade).
