Dae Haircare Shampoo and Conditioner Review

dae shampoo conditioner

Hello all. It feels such a long time since I have written here. I miss you all terribly. It also feels like a century ago since I have held a camera in my hands, and I am afraid of losing my love for art and beauty. However, I guess I have not lost that touch after all. I am now slowly back from outer space. I feel like I have missed out on a lot of the latest beauty releases, so I will be reviewing some beauty goodies soon and some of my favorite reads and whatever it is I am up to. But before that, there is one haircare brand I would like to review in this post. It is a brand that fascinated me because I have read some subpar reviews about it. Therefore, my curious brain naturally wanted to investigate whether the Dae haircare products are something I should skip. In this review, I am featuring the Dae shampoo + conditioner.

Shampoo

The scent is amazing and is one of the most well-scented shampoos I have ever tried. There is something nostalgic about the scent, which reminds me of the scent commonly found in most shampoos in the pacific. It is a blend of fresh floral with a tropical island vibe, which makes me think that the shampoo is ideal for summer because of its scent. When it comes to the texture and overall performance of the shampoo, I realize that I have such a different opinion compared to the others who have tried it. Most people say that the shampoo made their hair dry, yet it works the opposite for me. My hair did not feel dry after using it, and in fact, my hair felt a lot cleaner. The texture is very smooth, and it lathers very well with just a minimum amount of the product.

Conditioner

The conditioner is also a very good haircare product, in my opinion. The scent is relatively mild when compared to the shampoo, but I like it that way. The overall feel of the conditioner is not heavy, and there is no need to use a lot of it. A tiny drop can cover most hair strands, and it does not add any residue to the hair. The product is certified clean at Sephora, and it does keep the hair moisturized, especially on these cold, dry days. It can also work for all hair types.

dae haircare review

Overall, I am impressed with the shampoo and conditioner by Dae haircare. Not only is the packaging aesthetically pleasing and highly Instagrammable :-), I am amazed by how the products worked well for my hair. I am not quite certain why some folks had an opposite reaction to such haircare products, but my experience with the shampoo and conditioner has been wonderful so far.

Kรฉrastase Genesis Review

Kรฉrastase Genesis Strengthening Conditioner

Aloha, Iโ€™m blogging live from a beautiful island here in the middle of the Pacific, sipping piรฑa colada while working on my tan โ€“ I wish. I am just kidding yโ€™all. But ya know what I mean. Iโ€™m having a vacation state of mind, lol. Arenโ€™t we all? Where will you go post-COVID?

I hope todayโ€™s review will inspire you to take a vacation somewhere warm and sunny when all this pandemic nightmare is over. But before you take that dream vacay, be sure to have a fabulous strong hair โ€” the type that can withstand fluctuating temperature, humidity, and strong wind.

Enter Kรฉrastase Genesis. My favorite haircare line for hair strengthening and reducing hair fall. If your hair is the type that becomes brittle due to extreme temperature such as this Winter, or you simply experience hair fall from brushing, then take a closer look at the promising hair-strengthening products from Kรฉrastase.

Kerastase Genesis Strengthening Conditioner

The Kรฉrastase haircare line fortifies and strengthens hair with different nourishing ingredients. It has ginger root to stimulate hair growth, edelweiss native cells for anti-aging, and arginine as amino acid to strengthen the hair. Additionally, the line has caffeine which also increases hair follicles and stops hair loss.

The Kรฉrastase Genesis line comes in lovely pink packaging and opens to a lemon scent as the top note. The dry down is quite musky, which may take some getting used to for some.

Kรฉrastase Genesis Strengthening Shampoo

Genesis Strengthening Shampoo for Normal to Oily Hair โ€“ Has a gel consistency that feels very light. It lathers very well and will not dry the hair. It is indeed an ideal shampoo for those whose hair strands tend to get oily quickly.

Genesis Strengthening Conditioner โ€“ Not too thick and not too watery. It is very creamy and easy to spread. You will only need a bit, and itโ€™s enough to condition the hair.

Kรฉrastase Genesis Strengthening Conditioner

Genesis Strengthening Serum for Hair and Scalp โ€“ One of the few hair serums I really like because the product doesnโ€™t only fortify my hair, it also reduces the frizz. Therefore, making my hair even more manageable, even the next day. Tip: apply when your hair is still damp.

Genesis Strengthening Hair Mask โ€“ Best to use once or twice a week only. The consistency feels like the Genesis conditioner but even thicker and denser. So, you only need a little bit of the product on your hair.

Genesis Strengthening Blow Dry Primer โ€“ Perfect when you subject your hair to constant heating and styling. Nowadays, since our lives mostly exist in virtual reality, I donโ€™t reach for this often. The Genesis Serum is what I tend to use more.

Kรฉrastase Haircare review

So, whatโ€™s the overall result of the Kรฉrastase Genesis line on my hair? Well, prior to using the products, Iโ€™ve had some hair breakage and hair fall, which made my hair look pretty thin. Now, Iโ€™m happy to report that there is a significant 50-60% improvement. However, the result will take some time. Probably about a month or a month and a half. My hair does look a lot thicker and stronger than before. Therefore, I recommend the Kรฉrastase Genesis haircare line. Additionally, I have a few tips to reduce hair breakage and hair fall:

  • Donโ€™t comb/brush your hair while still wet or damp.
  • Use a wide-tooth comb when brushing. Yeah, I know theyโ€™re not the most attractive hair combs in the world, but trust me (your long-lost dearest aunt :D), itโ€™s going to help your hair in the long run.
  • Be gentle to your hair, do not tie it always, unless youโ€™re working out.
  • Be very careful with scrunchies. They can dent your hair strands.
  • Keep your hair nourished with hair strengthening products, such as serums, leave-ons, and hair masks.
  • Go easy on hair coloring and hair strengthening products. Keep it au-naturel.
  • If your hair is long, be careful when you sit on a chair. Donโ€™t rub it at the back of your chair t (if your chair has a backrest). This might cause friction or dent your hair strands.
  • Pull your hair up towards the headboard when youโ€™re sleeping.
  • Do not massage your scalp too much when showering.
  • Take your vitamins (be it hair vitamins), get some sleep, and hydrate, hydrate, hydrate.
  • Lastly, love your hair. Whether curly, straight, thick, thin, oily, or dry. Itโ€™s your crowning glory. Itโ€™s what makes you unique and beautiful.

Okie Dokie? Ciao ciao darlings!

T3 BodyWaver 1.75 Professional Ceramic Styling Iron for Waves and Volume review

Hello all! In this post, I’m going to be rounding up some of my favorite haircare tools of all time. A lot of these tools are sort of old, yet, they still work very well. And because they have such good quality, I haven’t been tempted to update them. Also, I’ll give you my two cents regarding what I think about the very popular Revlon Hot Air Brush that everyone seems to love nowadays. Excited much?

Read on.

T3

T3 SinglePass Compact Travel Styling Flat Iron review

SinglePass Compact Travel Styling Flat Iron – This is my favorite travel iron. I take this with me all the time because I really like its compact design and its lightweight ergonomic style. This comes with a dual voltage, and the plates heat up easily. This even has a safety plastic case for easy storage and to prevent burns or potentially melting other surfaces. For me, this is super reliable, and has used this in almost all my trips; both local and overseas.

BodyWaver 1.75โ€ Professional Ceramic Styling Iron for Waves and Volume – This is another one of my T3 faves, although this tool takes some getting used to for it to work really well, at least in my opinion. And that’s because this may feel a bit bulky although still very light on the hands. I usually use this to curl the tips of my hair in a sort of outward motion while positioning the barrel vertically. I believe this works very well for medium to long hair. The really good thing about this is once you develop a technique on how to use this efficiently, your curling process goes really fast because this heats up quickly.

GHD Eclipse Styler review

GHD Eclipse Styler (new version – Platinum+ Professional Performance 1″ Styler) – This is a prior version of nowadays’ GHD Platinum. I haven’t tried that one yet because I never felt the need to update this really solid styler. This has been working well for me for years and looks good as new. In fact, this is my main hair straightener, and the T3 one above is my go-to for traveling. This tool heats up easily and notifies you with a sound. The heat is constant all over the plate, so it distributes evenly on the hair. Also, this doesn’t get too hot, so as not to damage the hair. You can also use this as a curler.

Babyliss PRO Nano Titanium Bambino Compact Dryer – This very small hair dryer is so easy to pack, so cute, and totally packs a punch in power. This isn’t foldable though, but this is a lot smaller than most travel hair dryers I’ve seen out there. The really nice thing about this is even though this may look like a kids’ hair dryer in real life, this will still dry your hair in minutes.

Bestool Boar Bristle Hair Brush review

Bestool Boar Bristle Hair Brush – I’ve always wanted to have a boar bristle hairbrush because it helps to distribute the natural oil all over the hair and prevents frizz and split ends. This brush from amazon comes with a detangler and this really works to massage my scalp and prevent oil buildup.

Cricket Technique Barrel Hair Brush 2 inch – If you don’t have a curling wand or curling wands are not your thing, use this big round brush with your hairdryer to create big luscious waves. This brush distributes heat all over the hair because of its hollow barrel style. All you have to do is wrap the tips of your hair around this brush (away from your head) and heat it using your blow dryer. Voila! I love this a lot and this is so easy to use. Also, very inexpensive too.

Harry Josh Ultra Light Pro Dryer review

Harry Josh Ultra Light Pro Dryer – A favorite among celebrities, this very cute, mint green, compact, and lightweight hair dryer is so powerful that this really dries the hair within minutes. This may not be a dual-voltage dryer (unfortunately), but this will really hasten hair drying time for medium to long hair. This has ion technology to eliminate frizz, and in my experience, my hair looks silkier whenever I use this as opposed to using other hair dryers.ย

Revlon One-Step Hair Dryer and Volumizer Hot Air Brush review

Revlon One-Step Hair Dryer and Volumizer Hot Air Brush – Lastly, I couldn’t resist but write about this very interesting hair dryer+hot brush hybrid. This is that perfect 2-in-1 hair tool that you can use easily and can give you a polished look within seconds. This is not really a hair straightener, but your hair will look a bit straighter with this. I think this is more like a blow dryer that gives you a salon blowout in minutes at the comfort of being in your own home. This can create a nice wave but won’t be as defined as with a wand curler. Nevertheless, the waves that this will create are really beautiful, I would say a la Kate Middleton, lol. I love this a lot even though this is bulky to store. I also love the affordable price.
