Samples of the Week: Make Up For Ever Ultra HD Invisible Cover Foundation Review + Swatches

What’s Up, Children of the Corn! How’s the weather treating you today? Are your foundations giving you enough coverage? Is it truly covering your age? Hahaha! Hmmm, here’s an interesting foundation that I’ve been wanting to try for a long long time and I bet y’all know this, the Make Up For Ever Ultra HD Invisible Cover Foundation (1.01 oz for $43). Luckily and thankfully, I managed to accumulate a few samples before I’ll completely pull the trigger. You ready to check which shade is my fave? read on.

Make Up For Ever Ultra HD Invisible Cover Foundation Review

I’m a true devotee of BB Creams, CC Creams, EE, Double D, C cup creams, lol whatever, but you know what I mean. Any double letter type of foundations? I’m in. Anyway, I still love those and I will always use them regularly, but lately, I wanted to kinda venture into some buildable or full coverage foundations and my mind immediately thought of MUFE’s Ultra HD Foundation. I’ve read an Allure review about it before, saying that it’s the ideal foundation for selfies or against any high-def lenses, be it video or camera, and that’s because this particular foundation will make you look perfectly poreless, sans any filters or exorcisms. Now, that’s a catch!

There’s a lot of shades to choose from in this particular line of foundation. In fact, it’s almost confusing to pick which one’s the right shade for my light to medium complexion. When I first tried it, I was actually surprised that it wasn’t too drying at all, knowing that it’s a medium to full coverage buildable foundation. It has kind of a slightly matte but slightly dewy effect, so it won’t make your face look flat like a chiffon cake or a hot mess. It also felt very lightweight and non-greasy as well. Almost like being naturally airbrushed, but it’s not like it’s gonna completely hide all the blemishes of your skin, I would say that it’s just enough to give you a natural finish and it blends really well with the skin, even though somehow I could still see my pores.

Although I haven’t really taken a selfie or examined my skin through the lens of the camera after trying this MUFE Ultra HD Foundation, I find that this is such an interesting foundation to have. I’ve tried working out with it, sweat with it, and walked through the rain with it and I still had some good coverage going on. Another nice thing is, the color or colors I’ve tried are versatile and they seem to match my skin tone very well.

Here are some swatches:

Of all the shades in this review, Y225 (Marble) and Y245 (Soft Sand) are too bright for me, I thought I looked like Samara from The Ring. LOL. The best shades for me are either Y315 (Sand) or Y335 (Dark Sand) because they add a bit of warmth to my complexion, and my skin, in general, has a more yellow golden undertone. Y505 (Cognac) looks really great for contouring though.

Finale, I think the MUFE Ultra HD Invisible Cover Foundation is nice to have as a first medium to full-coverage foundation. It has a natural finish and it feels like nothing. I also like that it’s long wearing and it applies well with either a brush, a beauty blender or by hand. Now, where’s the Spf version of this?

Sephora Play! April 2017 Box

Sephora Play! April 2017 Box Contents

Hi Readers! Just got my Sephora Play! subscription box for this month of April and thereโ€™s a couple of interesting stuff in there, although theyโ€™re not totally impressive in my opinion. I think last monthโ€™s box was better since there were new and interesting products to try. This monthโ€™s box is themed โ€œStep It Upโ€. Not sure what that really means, but probably to step up your beauty or skin care regimen. Speaking of skincare, thereโ€™s definitely a couple of skin care products thrown in for this monthโ€™s box and a few products that we are all too familiar with.

Letโ€™s take a look.

Sephora Play! April 2017 Box smashbox primer, sephora makeup remover, Peter Thomas Roth cloud cream, make up for ever aqua xl eyeliner, Kate somerville exfolikate intensive exfoliator review

  1. Kate Somerville ExfoliKate Intensive Exfoliating Treatment (0.5 oz: $24, 2 oz: $85, 5 oz: $175)โ€“ This pine-scented exfoliator has micro particles and it feels sort of mild on the face, even though itโ€™s a clinical-strength product. It has fruit enzymes and an overall great in-home exfoliator. I love it quite a lot, I think it works really well to keep my skin renewed and I didnโ€™t break out so far. I would love to purchase this in large size soon.
  1. Sephora Collection Waterproof Eye Makeup Remover (1.69 oz: $7.50, 4.2 oz: $11, 6.76 oz: $15)โ€“ Very very similar to Clinique Take The Day Off, but a lot oilier. It does remove the eye makeup well but it also kinda burns, unlike Cliniqueโ€™s. Itโ€™s meant to be a waterproof eye makeup remover with lash-strengthening vitamins but itโ€™s hard to love this when it stings on the eyes. However, this is great as an overall waterproof makeup remover (on the face) for anyone with dry skin, and also comes in affordable price tags.
  1. Peter Thomas Roth Water Drench Hyaluronic Cloud Cream (1.6 oz: $52) โ€“ I really like this moisturizer. It has the right amount of creaminess and it moisturizes my skin very well, even for a long time. I love that it has a combination of two great humectants; ceramides and hyaluronic acid. My face feels really smooth with this and my skin absorbs this easily. Great for use at night time as well.
  1. Marc Jacobs Daisy Eau de Toilette (Travel size 0.24 oz: $27, Standard size 1.7 oz; $80, 3.4 oz: $100) โ€“ A lot of us are familiar with this particular scent. I, for one loves this specific fragrance. Described as the scent closest to the very popular Viktor & Rolf Flowerbomb by others, but for me this MJ Daisy is much fresher and a lot younger. I was never really a fan of the Flowerbomb scent even if I tried to love it several times, I thought it was too heavy, too sweet, and just simply didnโ€™t work for my body chemistry. Daisy is one of my personal fave indeed. I even keep a large bottle in my vanity.
  1. Smashbox Photo Finish Foundation Primer (Travel size 0.50 oz: $16, Value size 1.7 oz: $49, Standard size 1.0 oz: $36) โ€“ Iโ€™m pretty sure most of us have this in our stash, right? The good olโ€™ legendary Smashbox Primer, always a go to and always a cult-favorite. It keeps our makeup in place and makes it last forever. I love this iconic primer before, and I still love it now. Nuff said.
  1. Make Up For Ever Aqua XL Eye Pencil Waterproof Eyeliner (0.04 oz for $21) โ€“ Budge-proof? Hell yeah! This eyeliner is great for waterlines, upper lids, and for cat eyes. It can even create a smudged effect but still it wonโ€™t transfer once set. I love how easy the formula glides on the skin while being mild and waterproof at the same time. Definitely a new eyeliner worth to try.
