Hi All! I’ve got a confession to make. I’m obsessed with YSL lipsticks! so just a warning, this week and probably for the next coming weeks, you’ll probably see a bit more of YSL lipsticks being reviewed here. For today’s blabbering, I’m gonna share with you two of the YSL Rouge Pur Couture The Mats lipstick that I I’ve eyeing for some time now. I’ve always wanted to try YSL’s own version of matte lipsticks ever since I fell in love with their Rouge Volupte Shine, reviewed HERE. And guess what? These are really heavenly.
What I like about these are first, the packaging is chic and luxurious. Second, these lipsticks have the same YSL signature scent that comes with most of their lip products and it’s like a mango-guava mix that’s fresh and fruity. However, if you’re the type that doesn’t like flavors in their lipsticks, well, take heed, but it’s not so bad you know… Third, they’re quite hydrating than most matte lipsticks. In fact, they don’t apply and look “matte” at all. They’re actually quite satiny in texture. Lastly, these lipsticks are highly pigmented and very long lasting, which is definitely what we’re all looking for in a lipstick, right?
Prior to this review, I was contemplating whether I should get the 206 Grenat Satisfaction shade, which is more of a vampy reddish-brown color, or the 213 Orange Seventies, which is a deep red-orange sort of neon-ish shade. In the end, I decided to pick one of the newest shades added to this lipstick line, the 213 Orange Seventies. Here’s the photos.
207 Rose Perfecto – A deep rose-mauve shade that has an amazing pigment and incredible texture. It’s extremely hydrating while looking quite matte (satin) at the same time. It doesn’t crease nor bleed even without any primer used. Might have a few color transfer here and there, but it’ll still hold onto your lips without a problem.
213 Orange Seventies – One of the latest shade added to this lipstick line. This shade is quite hard to photograph. I can’t seem to capture the complexity of this color. It’s like red and orange with a bit of neon. Very very similar to YSL Rouge Volupte Shine in No.12 Corail Incandescent, but way more muted and much much more pigmented. This is definitely a flashy shade, but it’s so in tune with the weather nowadays that I couldn’t help but brought this home instead of the 206 shade.
Have you tried these already? what’s your favorite shade of all of YSL The Mats line? If you haven’t tried these, you can check it out HERE.
