Central Park, NYC

central park review manhattan new york

Hey Travelers! As I wrap up my NYC 2016 trip, I thought I’d like to share with you these few photos that I took of Central Park. I actually spent a lot of time in Central Park because it’s close to Madison Avenue and 5th Avenue, and also my hotel is just nearby. If you want to know where I stayed on this particular trip, click HERE.

If you’ve never been to NYC, nor to Central Park, I suggest that you shouldn’t skip this particular park because it’s simply beautiful. I love the beauty and serenity of this place. It’s a huge park and I just love coming here every time I’m in NYC. There’s different areas to check out and stroll around, people walking, people jogging, horse-drawn carriages and distant music in the background.

Hills, trees and more trees, beautiful lakes, gorgeous walkways, statues, fields and a zoo, all in the middle of a bustling borough of Manhattan. My visit here was some kind of a good timing because it’s right at the beginning of fall, so you’ll see the trees and the plants changing its colors. I cannot imagineย how beautiful this place is going to be when it hits full-on autumn.

The lakes here are so pretty, especially when paired with cozy seats to watch people rowing their tiny boats and to absorb the sounds of birds and other animals around. The only thing that bothers me sometimes whenever I come here is the number of people bustling around. This is a touristic place indeed, but sometimes I find myself looking for some silent areas to just sit around and chill. The best time to come here is probably early morning and perhaps late in the afternoon.

It’s a different experience when you see this park in a lot of movies, rather than seeing it for yourself in real life. It’s definitely prettier and much more enchanting. Just don’t stay around at night, to be safe. Bring a friend with you, take a selfie and stroll all you want.

Chanel Stylo Yeux Waterproof Long-Lasting Eyeliner

Hello Folks! Just want to share with you this beautiful eyeliner from Chanel that I’ve been currently obsessing because I just love its lasting power and its overall performance and formulation. It’s the Chanel Stylo Yeux Waterproof Long-Lasting Eyeliner. They come in different shades, but I fell in love with the Pomme De Pin shade, which is a muted black shade with a hint of brown.

The eyeliner’s formula is waterproof and could last for hours! The packaging is in the usual Chanel Stylo design, which is an easy twist and apply maneuver. It also comes with a built-in sharpener at the base. This eyeliner glides on smoothly and is buildable. You can definitely customize the intensity of your eye makeup with this one.ย

This is definitely going to be in my Holy Grail list because this eyeliner is reliable and it works like a charm. It also doesn’t budge. Probably it’s one of the best eyeliners ever made by Chanel.

Laura Geller Baked Gelato Swirl Illuminator Review

Aloha boyz and gurlz! I’ve been looking for some good powder-type highlighters lately and have looked at some potential products that sparked my interest. There was a lot to choose from but eventually I settled into Laura Geller Baked Gelato Swirl Illuminators.

I’m a huge fan of highlighters or illuminators that I like to hoard them a lot. A review of my personal collection of liquid illuminators can be read HERE. I’ve been curious about how the powder kind of highlighters fare against the liquid type, specially about their lasting powers. I picked the Laura Geller Baked Gelato Swirls because I like that there’s a couple of shades to choose from and that the shades are somewhat wearable and not extremely packed with glitters. These also seem easy and soft on the skin to apply.

Ballerina: candlelit rose gold shade. At a glance, this is theย darkest shade of all the Laura Geller Baked Gelato Swirl Illuminators, yet also the most neutralย because it has bothย a rosy and golden hue that’s ideal for anyone with a warm or cool skin tone.ย It gives a subtle shimmer on my NC30-35 skin.

Gilded Honey: effervescent caramel honey shade. The most golden of them all and is ideal for those with warm skin tones. This shade is truly a Mida’s Touch and will definitely make you look gilded.

Charming Pink: soft pink pearl. This illuminator caters to the cool-toned as it is filled with pearl-like subtle shimmers with very very light shade of pink. It’s so cute and refreshing. Reminds me a lot of Benefit High Beam. On my skin, this looks quite bright and leaning towards being whitish than pinkish.

Peach Glow: peach champagne shimmer. A highlighter that leans slightly to those with warmer tones, but still can be wearable for anyone with lighter skin tones who wants a bit of sun-kissed shimmer. It’s a gorgeous color that reminded me a bit of Benefit Girl Meets Pearl.

Swatches:

Favorites: Since my skin is on the Neutral side, which could look warmer or cooler depending on the current season, I still consider it to be slightly warmer and prefers the Ballerina and Gilded Honey as my favorite shades. If ever I wanted to “level up” my highlighter game that day, I’d definitely pick up the Peach Glow shade.

Verdict: I am so in love with these Laura Geller Baked Gelato Swirl Illuminators. Their lasting power is as goodย as most liquid highlighters or even better and they don’t look heavy on shimmers. They give a smooth and soft highlighted effect on the face without looking too intergalactic ๐Ÿ™‚ or like a Tin Man. LOL.ย

These highlighters are extremely versatile even though their shades are somewhat designated for each specific skin tones. I can’t say any drawbacks about these illuminators except that I wish they’d come in much bigger containers.ย

This is my first time trying Laura Geller’s cosmetics an I could say that I’m in love. I am definitely gonna be trying some other products from this brand soon.ย To purchase these illuminators and some other Laura Geller Makeup Products, click HERE.

Alrighty guys, have fun illuminating!
