Becca x Chrissy Teigen Endless Summer Glow Collection Review & Swatches

becca x chrissy teigen endless summer glow collection

Hey guys! Happy Weekend! There’s lots of new beauty stuff to look forward to this weekend starting with the fresh and newly-released Becca x Chrissy Teigen Endless Summer Glow Collection. I am so excited about this collab just as I was so excited when the first Becca x Chrissy Glow Face Palette (swatched HERE) was released last year. This year, there are three limited-edition featured products and they’re inspired by the idea of having that sun-kissed skin all throughout the year. So, expect to see some shimmers and sun-inspired warmth in this collection.

First off, let’s start with the Glow Body Oil (3.5 oz: $42). I love the look of the packaging, it looks sleek and luxurious with its golden shimmers floating inside the bottle. The oil smells great, it has this perfumey floral scent, though for some it may be too strong, but for me, I like it, it gives me that nostalgic tropical scent. Formula-wise, I think this body oil could be improved. No matter how much product I applied on my skin, I still couldn’t see the shimmer. I’ve shaken the bottle I don’t know how many times and I still couldn’t see much glow. In fact, photographing it is a challenge. Also, this body oil doesn’t seem to set immediately on the skin, it just sorts of sit on top and it has a bit of a slightly sticky feel which made me wary about oil transfer to my clothes and anything I touch. But nevertheless, this Glow Body Oil still feels light and moisturizing. Another thing I wanna point out is how impractical its packaging can be. It does look pretty yeah but it’s not well-thought-out because it doesn’t have a sprayer nor a pump. So you kinda have to tap the opening of its glass bottle several times in order to release some products, which is kinda tedious.

Next up is the Endless Bronze & Glow (0.25 oz: $38) compact that contains two shades of Becca’s top Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed Highlighter in Moonstone and Beach Nectar (one of the shades in the Glow Face Palette) and it also contains the new Sunlit Bronzer in Aloha Bronze. Moonstone is a pale golden pearl shade, while Beach Nectar is a golden peach. The Aloha Bronze is a medium brown with a slight terracotta tone a bit similar to the Glow Face Palette’s Malibu Soleil, just without the slight clayish red blend. At first glance, the design and the colors inside this compact are so pretty. It has this sun and waves etching and it’s simply tempting to try. All three shades retain the same excellent quality, pigmentation and overall good formulation that we usually expect and see with most of Becca’s highlighting and bronzing products. The nice thing about this compact is that it’s so versatile and it can be that one face compact you’ll ever need especially when you’re out and about or traveling. There’s basically a shade for highlighting, a shade for bronzing, and a nice shimmery blush. When swirled and combined, the overall shade becomes a bronzy shimmery coral. On my skin, it pulls off as a highlighting blush and yes, it really gives that sun-kissed glow.

Lastly, there’s the Glow Lip Gloss (0.18 oz: $22) which gives shine and feels ultra-hydrating, cushiony like a balm and pigmented like a liquid lipstick. It has a softening comforting feel that doesn’t weigh the lips and it has that peppermint scent and flavor which gives that plumpy feel after application. It takes a couple of swipes here and there to get a full coverage on the lips (especially if you have fuller lips) since the formula is a bit thick and the tube’s opening is quite narrow, not to mention the slim brush applicator. The way Chrissy applies it as seen in the video is the best way to apply this gloss. It’s great to be worn alone or as a lipstick topper and the shades are really great. There will be some color transfer of course especially when you eat or drink, but most of it remains on the lips and it will stay there for about 4 to 5 hours.

Beach Bum – supposed to be a warm sandy pink, but it looks more like a light tan beige on me.

Malibu Soleil – mauvy rose without any shimmer and it’s not sheer. It’s just like my lips’ natural shade but better

Beach Nectar – described as a “neutral berry infused with a hint of light catching pearl”, on me, it slightly sheer, shimmery, and it’s kinda reddish brown.

In conclusion, this year’s Becca x Chrissy Teigen collab is an exciting one that is definitely worth trying. The products are great especially with the Lip Glosses and the Endless Bronze & Glow Compact. The Glow Body Oil would have been really great if it wasn’t for its lack of shimmer and its impractical packaging.

Chanel Haul

chanel poudre universelle libre

Why Hello There! I’ve got some Chanel goodies to review today including one of the new shades of the Le Vernis, and of course, a really beautiful bronzer. I actually had to restock some of my favorite Chanel products like their eyeliners, but I couldn’t resist checking out what’s new in their beauty department.

First off, I repurchased the Chanel Stylo Yeux Waterproof Eyeliner ($33). I’ve been using the Pomme de Pin shade which is a very dark black blue tone but it seems like that shade has been long out of stock, so I decided to try and swatch some other colors in-store. I settled on the Espresso color which is the darkest matte brown shade available, and I would have also settled on the Ebene shade had I not known that there’s a more intense pure matte black color available, the Noir Intense. The reason behind why I picked the Espresso color is that I wanted something that is more for an everyday wear or daywear eyeliner that doesn’t look too sharp, is quite natural and doesn’t have any shimmery effect. And the Noir Intense color is the perfect classic black eyeliner.

Chanel Poudre Universelle Libre

Chanel Poudre Universelle Libre 30 naturel

Next up is the Chanel Poudre Universelle Libre ($52) in 30 Naturel. This is basically Chanel’s Universal Natural Finish Loose Powder that is very versatile for any makeup or skincare situation. I purchased this as a replacement for my previous Chanel Loose Powder in 40 Dorรฉ which I gave to my sister because it had gone too dark for me. The 30 Naturel shade is the perfect shade for me right now and I am in love with this loose powder so much so because it comes in this hefty tub with a huge puff that’s so easy and practical to use. I just tap it on the powder and dab some on my face in order to control shine or set my foundation for the day, and it doesn’t leave a white cast. The powder is very soft and smooth and it’s pretty much time-saving to use.

Chanel Le Vernis Longwear Nail Colour Chicness review

A Chanel haul won’t be complete without checking out what’s new in Chanel Beauty. With the Chanel Cruise Collection 2018 being released, there’s a lot to see, starting with the new shades of the Le Vernis Longwear Nail Colour. There was one shade that really drew me, it’s called Chicness ($28) and it’s sort of a nude purple pastel shade. It’s so pretty and it’s really chic. Wear time is great because I have the color on my nails for more than a week now and it’s still looking great, no chipping so far. Also, this shade really complements my skintone.

Les Beiges Healthy Glow Luminous Multi-Colour Powder medium

Les Beiges Healthy Glow Luminous Multi-Colour Powder swatch

This year’s Les Beiges Collection comes with the limited edition multicolor bronzers which are a sight to behold – the Les Beiges Healthy Glow Luminous Multi-Colour Powder ($58). Each glow bronzer has a stripe of six shades and if I’m not mistaken, there are one or two shades that look very similar to each other. Nevertheless, it’s so beautiful and so summer-ready. I purchased the Medium which really suits my skin tone very well and its effect is quite subtle but it gives my face a nice natural warm glow and definition. It pulls off as lightly peachy on me which reminds me of the Guerlain Terracotta Light Bronzers (reviewed and swatched HERE). It’s definitely slightly more pigmented than the La Mer Bronzing Powder (HERE), but it’s not as super pigmented as the Becca Sunlit Gradients (seen HERE). Texture-wise, this Chanel Les Beiges Healthy Glow Bronzer feels very soft smooth and velvety, and it applies nicely to the face. It has a light floral scent and it comes with a round brush applicator.

Chanel Stylo Yeux Waterproof

Bottom line, I love this haul! the Stylo Waterproof Eyeliners are the best and are very reliable as they perform in any weather and in any activity, and they also don’t budge. They don’t irritate the eyes and they come in several beautiful colors. The loose powder is fast, practical and easy to use. It’s one of my most favorite loose powders of all time simply because it’s very versatile. And who doesn’t love the Chanel Le Vernis? They last a long time and the Chicness color is just pretty. Plus of course, the limited-edition Les Beiges Healthy Glow Multi-Colour Powder will have your heart skipping a beat.

Have you tried these beauties already?

Guerlain Terracotta Light Healthy Glow Vitamin-Radiance Powder Review + Swatches

Guerlain Terracotta Light Healthy Glow Vitamin-Radiance Powder 01, 02, 03

Summer is almost just around the corner. I bet you guys are getting your bronzers and tanners ready. Speaking of Summer and bronzers, I have another bronzer to talk about. But before that, please do take a read of the amazing face bronzers I’ve tried and reviewed a couple of weeks ago, starting with the La Mer The Bronzing Powder (HERE) and the Becca Gradient Sunlit Bronzers (also HERE). Now, we have to talk about the very interesting Guerlain Terracotta Light Healthy Glow Vitamin-Radiance Powder (0.3 oz: $53). For the longest time, I’ve been trying to get my hands on these. Fortunately,ย I got lucky and found three shades that I’m about to review in this post.

guerlain terracotta light bronzers

The Guerlain Terracotta Light Radiance Powder is a vitamin-infused bronzer that is meant to be skin-loving and is composed of different colors that are sort of like a gradient and are almost complementary to each other. It has an absolutely beautiful presentation for a bronzing compact and it’s simply pretty to look at. Its overall packaging feels light and has a fantastic feel on the hands. It’s one of those most beautiful bronzers you could find nowadays. Looking at the compact, it resembles a color wheel with three shades alternating. In the middle, there’s a round shade that varies its tones from brownish beige to something of a dark brown. The bronzer has a nice floral-powder scent that spreads around you. It can be quite strong, but it smells really good. As for the texture, it feels really fine and has a luxurious feel on the face. I noticed at first glance that the shades seemed a lot lighter in real life than in the photos seen at Guerlain’s website or at Sephora. Upon application, the shades tend to be so light as well and that the varying colors on the compact tend to not make that much of a difference because all of them seemed quite too similar to each other, except for the pinks or peachy orange-golds you’d see on the compact. It’s a bit of a mixed feeling for me because I expected these to be more pigmented and the colors being much more distinctive to each other. But then again, the name of the compact says it all. It’s meant to be “light”, so don’t expect heavy contouring on these, unless you go for the darkest shades of this bronzer’s range. I find these compacts to be ideal for an everyday wear, just like the La Mer Bronzing Powder, although the La Mer one can double as a blush as well, while these Terracotta Lights seem to pull a single-tone with a spectrum that falls on the light peachy-orange side.

Guerlain Terracotta Light Healthy Glow Vitamin-Radiance Powder 01 clair dorรฉ

Guerlain Terracotta Light Healthy Glow Vitamin-Radiance Powder 01 light warm

01 Light Warm (Clair Dorรฉ) –ย This shade looks really light in reality. It’s has a light peachy color besides a shade that looks like a beige-brown and another beside it that looks like a matte light-medium brown. Then there’s another light matte beige-brown in the middle. There is very minimal glitter noticed on this compact and I could barely see this shade on my NC25/30 skin. I feel like this shade is perfect for those with very very fair or very light complexions.

Guerlain Terracotta Light Healthy Glow Vitamin-Radiance Powder 02 natural cool

Guerlain Terracotta Light Healthy Glow Vitamin-Radiance Powder 02 natural cool, naturel rosรฉ

02 Natural Cool (Naturel Rosรฉ) – A pretty blend of light pink shade with something that looks like a medium brown, a dark glittery brown beside it, another light brown as well, and another medium brown in the middle. When swirled, the shades still looked very subtle on me but at least I could see it on my face.

Guerlain Terracotta Light Healthy Glow Vitamin-Radiance Powder 03 natural warm

Guerlain Terracotta Light Healthy Glow Vitamin-Radiance Powder no 03

03 Natural Warm (Naturel Dorรฉ) – This shade has a golden-peach tone, with a matte light brown, a glittery dark brown, and another matte medium brown. It looks much more pigmented among the three compacts at a glance, but upon application, it still is very subtle on the face. It pulls off as a slightly pigmented version of the 01 Clair Dorรฉ shade above but with more glitter, even though the glitters don’t really show much on the face once applied.

Guerlain Terracotta Light Healthy Glow Vitamin-Radiance Powder 01, 02, 03

These Terracotta Light Bronzers can be blendable, but given the subtleness of their shades and their shimmers, you can only blend so much and still get the same color and intensity on the face. As I mentioned before, they tend to be on the light peachy side, which gives enough warmth and definition on the face. I cannot speak for the shades 04 and 05. Lasting power for these bronzers are good, they stay put as long as you avoid too much humidity and sweat. They tend to stay on my face even though I tend to have an oily skin type. Overall, it’s good to have a few of these depending on how you like to wear your bronzers. If you like them subtle and you wear them everyday, then you’re going to love the Guerlain Terracotta Light Bronzers.

Stay tuned for I’ll be reviewing a roundup of the best bronzers I’ve tried this Summer. Follow my Instagram for more details.

Happy Friyay!
