Top Supergoop Sunscreens to Try This Summer

Hello you. Happy summer! Are you currently enjoying the heat? Wherever you are right now and whatever you are doing, I hope you are protecting yourself from the harmful UV rays. You know the deal: SPF every two hours (as often as you can, really). Wash. Rinse. Repeat. Amen.

supergoop sunscreens

Speaking of SPF, I am sure we are all familiar with Supergoop sunscreens. But, which Supergoop sunscreens are the best? Or at least worth trying for starters? I have just the recs for ya! Keep on reading…

supergoop glowscreen

Glowscreen SPF 40 Sunscreen with Hyaluronic Acid + Niacinamide – This Instagram-favorite sunscreen is one you need to have all the time. This goes smooth on the skin with a subtle shimmer that gives an overall radiant finish. The product does not peel and is non-sticky. There is no strong scent and a little goes a long way. If you choose the shade sunrise, you will find that it brightens the face, but will not give an over-the-top glow. This sunscreen can be worn alone or after your favorite moisturizer. This also goes well when mixed with your favorite foundation. Also, this protects the skin effectively from the sun.

supergoop lipshade review

supergoop lipshade

Lipshade 100% Mineral SPF 30 Hydrating Lipstick – I do not think I have tried a sunscreen lipstick as good as this one before. This is not balmy, but more of a true smooth lipstick with a fruity scent and flavor. The product glides smoothly on the lips and has good coverage. I love the beautiful summery shades that you can choose from this lipstick line, even though the shade range is only limited to four.

High Five – bright terracotta

Lucky Me – rose mauve

supergoop play antioxidant mist review

Play Antioxidant Body Sunscreen Mist SPF 50 – This is my favorite body sunscreen because this is non-sticky, non-warming, and totally weightless. The formula feels like a dry oil that gets absorbed well by the skin. This mist sunscreen does a very good job of protecting the body from the sun. The only beef I have with this product is the sprayer. It sprays a lot, which makes it hard to control the product that is being released. However, the large amount of product released per spray is needed to cover the whole arms and legs. So, I have mixed feelings about the packaging. Overall, I still highly recommend this product because not only this product is reliable, but this also is different from some of the famous over-the-counter sunscreens out there that contain high levels of alcohol. This product has no strong alcohol content that irritates the upper respiratory tract.

supergoop resetting powder review

Mineral (Re)setting Powder SPF 35 – This fun sunscreen setting powder is made of 100 minerals. This product mattifies the face and sets the foundation well with added sun protection. I recommend that you try the translucent powder first so that it will not interfere with/alter your makeup. I really like that this is very easy and practical to use because the packaging is very well-thought-out and very compact. To describe, the product comes with a setting powder at the bottom and a soft brush applicator on top. To use, just flip/shake the powder towards the brush side, unplug the yellow plastic tip (middle of the brush) to release the powder to the brush, apply it on the face, and voila! You can place the plastic tip back into the mid part of the brush to stop the powder from spilling after use.

Safeguard your skin this summer from damaging UV Rays with Supergoop sunscreens. Not only their products are useful, but they also help to enhance and complement your existing skincare and makeup. Therefore, I highly recommend their products and start trying out the ones I mentioned in this post.

Summer Sandal Favorites 2019

best sandals for the summer

Hi there! Summer will be almost over soon and I am definitely not quite over it. It’s still blazing heat, sun, and sweat from where I am. Although, I have a feeling that it’s all going to change soon. Anyway, let’s take a break from beauty talks for now. I’ve been meaning to share with you some of my favorite sandals this Summer. I’m planning to make this post a two-part (hopefully, if the weather permits) especially because I’ve got some lovely footwear to feature. For this post, I’m featuring some of the sandals I’m currently loving this season. I’m hoping that I will get the second part of this post done soon, and it’s all going to be about my favorite espadrilles.

So without further ado, let’s get this review going. Just a little FYI and overview, the following sandals that I’m going to feature are all flats, and they all have a similar minimalist functional style. I’ve collected them since last year and as you will see, they’re mostly either in neutral, black, or white colors, just because they work well in coherence with my wardrobe. For reference, I’m a true size 7 in almost all shoes/brands, my feet tend to be a tad wide on the front part but I usually fit a normal width. I’m also on the short side at 5’3, and my skintone is light-medium, although my legs tend to be lighter than my arms. So, here they are, check out my favorite sandals this season.

Dolce Vita

Found these beautiful minimalist, comfortable, and easy-to-wear sandals/slides when I was wandering inside Saks Off Fifth. They were on sale at the time I bought them and they’re still on sale now.

dolce vita chantel ring tab slides review

Chantel Ring-Tab Slides (29.99 USD) – This sandal is so comfy, so easy to wear, and they make my feet look cute. I love that I can slip this on my feet and go about my daily errands like a breeze.

dolce vita cain sandal slides review

Cain Sandals (29.99 USD) – Didn’t know I would be a big fan of crossover sandals because at first, it looks a little too dated. But, there’s a reason why this style keeps being on-trend. Simply because it does make the feet look slim.

tory burch miller flip flop

Tory Burch Miller Flip Flop (198 USD) – Ah, Tory, I have skipped your cult-favorite sandal/flip flops for a very long time. But this year, I pulled the trigger on this because even though I’m not much of a flip flop fan anymore, I do see the need for an elegant easy to wear slipper this Summer. This Tory Burch Miller is a beautiful step up to my usual comfy flip flops. I feel like I could go to a Summer business gathering with this.

givenchy logo slides

Givenchy Logo Slide (295 USD) – This fancy-schmancy slide puts a capital C in Comfort. Also, its minimalist and aesthetically pleasing design look very chic and very put together even on days when I go very casual. It simply elevates the look even when you don’t really care about what you’re wearing. You just put this on and you’d feel very relaxed and very carefree. This pair of slides may feel a bit wide at first, but this is perfect for when my feet start to swell from standing or even sitting all day and I had to slide into something really comfortable.

Madewell

This is my first time wearing Madewell sandals and I really don’t know why I haven’t tried them before. I really love their lace-up sandals this year and they work really well with just about any outfit, plus they add drama to the feet.

madewell the boardwalk laceup sandal review

The Boardwalk Lace-Up Sandal (On sale 35.70 USD) – This Grecian/Gladiator-style sandal makes me feel Iike I wish I was born in the time of Cleopatra or Jesus. (Ha! feelin’ like in the wrong time period, eh?). Yes, this beautiful pair of sandals really does make you feel like you’re traveling back in time but in a very chic way. It’s got the perfect balance of leather laces crisscrossing all over your feet and ankles. It goes well with cropped pants, jeans, mini skirts, and in this photo, with my favorite polka dot Mia skirt from Reformation in petite size.

madewell the boardwalk woven lace up sandal review

The Boardwalk Woven Lace-Up Sandal (Also on sale 35.70 USD) – A bit similar to the sandal above, but this one has a woven front that you can slip on and it has leather lace-ups all over the ankles. If you’re not much into the Grecian footwear style, then this beautiful minimalist pair of sandals might suit your fancy especially because this also goes well with any outfit and it has a bit of a slimming effect on the feet.

aldo campodoro shoes

Aldo Campodoro Sandals (49.98 – 60 USD) – I’ve been a fan of Aldo shoes for as long as I can remember. I love their affordable shoes and they even get more affordable especially when they’re on sale, and yes, they’re almost always on sale. I got their Campodoro sandals in Gold and Black as a replacement for my old sandals that I’ve worn for years. These sandals have a classic minimal-strap style and they seem to wear very well. I’ve got mine since the beginning of Summer last year and they still look great even at this time.

hermes oran sandals review

Hermes Oran Sandals (650 USD) – I have never stopped loving this sandal since the day I first had it. It goes well with almost all of my outfits and it’s very comfortable. The design is unique and minimalist, and the fit gets better with time. The leather tends to mold to the feet and it feels buttery. It also slims the feet and it goes well with cropped/ankle pants and long skirts. Reviewed further here.

best summer sandals

That sums up my favorite sandals this Summer and hopefully, I could sneak in my favorite espadrilles this season here on the blog. Cross my fingers, cross my feet, and cross my heart, lol.

Here’s to wishing more sun in this last few days of Summer. Cheers!

Denim and pants shown here are from Gap and/or J.Crew, the Midi Polka Dot skirt is from Reformation, all linked down below.

Drunk Elephant Summer Skincare Faves

drunk elephant skincare

Hey there! Summer’s almost here and I’ve got some Drunk Elephant favorites to feature in this review. When it comes to finding quality skincare products, Drunk Elephant is probably one of those brands that’s at the top of my list. I like most of their products because they work and they make such a difference in my skin. It all started when I first discovered their Lippe Balm which I will be reviewing again below. That said lip balm repaired my dry chapped lips in several instances. From then on, I’ve tried other Drunk Elephant products and they never disappoint. I don’t think I’ve tried all their products already just because they can be quite pricey.

Another thing I like about DE is the fact that they support the IEF (International Elephant Foundation) and their products are cruelty-free.

I feel like this Summer is all about the glow and clean skincare. So, for this review, there are a few Drunk Elephant products I’m currently loving and is also recommending for this coming warm season. Check them out below.

Drunk Elephant D-Bronzi Anti-Pollution Sunshine Drops

Drunk Elephant D-Bronzi Anti-Pollution Sunshine Drops review photo

D-Bronzi Anti-Pollution Sunshine Drops (1 oz: 36 USD) – True to what DE stated, this product is literally sunshine in a bottle without the damage. Out of all the fake tanners I’ve tried, this probably is the best because this goes on soft and light, and it feels nice on the skin. It contains Virgin Marula, Black Currant Seed Oils, fatty acids, raw unrefined cocoa powder, as well as antioxidants to boost the skin. The effect is a post-vacation glow that resembles a sunshiney bronzy shade sans any UV damage. To apply, just mix this (1 drop) with your favorite serum, moisturizer, or even foundation. A drop of this can look very concentrated or too pigmented, but once spread, it becomes very wearable yet buildable as well. I tried wearing this alone without mixing it with anything and I thought I would look ridiculous on it, but I think it still looks very wearable on me, and it does seem to flatter any skintone. You can also use this product on the chest, legs, or arms, etc.

drunk elephant lippe balm

Lippe Balm (0.13 oz: 18 USD) – This is definitely my favorite moisturizing lip balm. It’s plain and simple without any strong fragrance etc, and it works really well at delivering, maintaining, and restoring hydration on the lips. This is perfect for traveling and for the dry Winter season. It’s pricey and you may find that there’s not enough product in it even if its whole packaging/diameter looks larger than most lip balms, but this does a good job at conditioning the lips.

Drunk Elephant C-Firma Vitamin C Day Serum review photo

Drunk Elephant C-Firma Vitamin C Day Serum

C-Firma Vitamin C Day Serum (1 oz: 80 USD) – I’ve always wanted to incorporate a Vitamin C product in my daily skincare regimen, I was just not sure which one. Enter this Drunk Elephant C-Firma Serum, and it works really well for my skin. I love that this never caused me any irritations and my skin looks even more glowing since using this regularly. This serum has a bit of an oily feel but it’s neither sticky nor super oily at all, and it is yellow-tinged. It contains 15% L-Ascorbic Acid, 1/2% Ferulic Acid, and 1 % Vitamin E, plus powerful antioxidants. It also stays active on the skin for up to 72 hours and has a tolerable pH. I use this in the morning as a serum, and this helps with brightening my dark spots from zits, and it gives a nice healthy inner glow.

There is one Drunk Elephant product not photographed here, and it’s the C-Tango Multivitamin Eye Cream (0.5 oz: 64 USD) which I’m currently using as my eye cream and it helps in managing dark circles, tired undereyes, as well as lightening any dark spots. Further reviewed HERE.
