REN Evercalm Global Protection Day Cream

Happy Labor Day guys! I hope you’re all having a great time. I have some samples to review today which are quite interesting and somewhat new. So, without further ado, let’s get this Labor Day review started.

Burberry, My Burberry Blush Eau de Parfum review

Burberry, My Burberry Blush Eau de Parfum (0.25 oz/rollerball: $29, 1 oz: $68, 1.6 oz: $90, 3 oz: $120) – I surprising LOVE THIS SCENT the moment I sprayed it on my wrist. It’s a breathtaking fruity floral scent that is irresistible, yummy, sweet, feminine, and pretty at the same time. I haven’t been a fan of floral scents lately (except YSL Mon Paris) because a lot of them tend to be sickly sweet, but this one is different. It has the right kind of sweetness that is not overbearing because there’s a bit of freshness to it. The pomegranate tone is refreshing to the senses. I’m a fan of Burberry scents like the “My Burberry Eau de Toilette“, “Brit Sheer“, and even the “Mr. Burberry Eau de Parfum” for men, and this My Burberry Blush definitely does not disappoint.

By Terry Hyaluronic Face Glow in #2 Nude Glow review

Boscia Charcoal Deep-Pore Exfoliating Peel Gel with Volcanic Sand (5 oz: $34) – This is a mild facial peel gel in which the scent reminds me a lot of Boscia Detoxifying Black Cleanser (reviewed HERE). This one has a very similar consistency with that cleanser as well, and at first, it has a gritty/exfoliating texture, but once applied on the face, you’ll realize that there’s some kind of tiny leaf residue that sorta balls up or clumps the moment you scrub this black gel on your face. The nice thing is it’s not gonna be a rough scrub, but more like a mild one, but the problem is that the whole process can be messy since the clumpy residues tend to fall off the face easily, making a mess on the floor or on the sink. It does clean and soften the face though.

Boscia Charcoal Deep-Pore Exfoliating Peel Gel with Volcanic Sand review

By Terry Hyaluronic Face Glow in #2 Nude Glow (1.43 oz: $66) – I was so surprised by the amazing powdery jasmine scent of this one. It’s a strong scent, but it’s also a nice one. The type that’s kinda hard to resist. The coverage of this is very sheer, so it’s almost better to layer or mix this with your favorite BB or CC Cream, or any foundation as well. I love the very subtle glow that it gives on the face even if it’s quite sheer.

Tarte Tarteist PRO Glow Liquid Highlighter in Stunner

Coola Mineral Face Spf 30 Matte Tint Unscented (1.7 oz: $36)– A light coverage sunscreen/BB cream that has a whipped texture and it feels cushiony like the Coola Dawn Patrol Primer (reviewed HERE). It is creamy and it slightly blurs some redness on the face. I still use some foundation after using this because the coverage of this is not enough to cover my blemishes or some post acne marks. I love that this feels really lightweight and didnโ€™t break out my skin.

Lancer Dani Glowing Skin Perfector (1 oz: $95) โ€“ This luminizing cream has a floral scent, but itโ€™s not extremely strong. Its shimmers are also very fine, thus giving a natural subtle glow on the face. I wish thereโ€™s a bit more coverage to it because this oneโ€™s really sheer, but itโ€™s great to mix with BB creams or with some other foundations. It really does make the face look luminous and less flat.

Charlotte Tilbury Charlotte’s Magic Cream Treat & Transform Moisturizer (1.7 oz: $100, 5 oz: $255) – This cream has a similar scent to Fresh Rose Face Mask or Fresh Rose Deep Hydration Cream, Serum & Eye Gel. It also reminds me of Sisley Paris Black Rose Cream Mask, both with scent and consistency, although the Sisley one has a more whipped formulation. This one from Charlotte Tilbury is quite balanced in texture and in consistency that is also very hydrating and my skin absorbs this easily. It even kept my face hydrated when I applied this on my face overnight.

Tarte Tarteist PRO Glow Liquid Highlighter in Stunner (0.56 oz: $29) – This liquid highlighter’s glow is blinding and out of this world, but a huge challenge to work around. You don’t need to apply a lot of this because a little bit goes a long way, and it’s also easy to blend, but it sets pretty fast which can make the application patchy. The effect can be blinding like you have too much glitter on because the shimmers are not finely-milled. It’s super glowy and ultra-luminous which makes the glow on the face quite unnatural.

Ciate London Liquid Velvet Moisturizing Matte Liquid Lipstick in Bitter Sweet

REN Evercalm Global Protection Day Cream (1.7 oz: $45) – This cream is really moisturizing and it’s great for sensitive skin, but I just couldn’t quite like it, no matter how hard I tried it several times. It’s that after-application scent that’s kinda acidic like a strong lemon and rose mix with some citronella (anti-mosquito). It’s a weird scent and I can’t seem to get used to it. Other than that, this cream really moisturizes any dry skin very well.

Laura Geller Color Luster Lip Gloss in Cookie Dough (0.21 oz: $21) – This is a very lightweight long lasting lip gloss that has a medium coverage. It doesn’t feel sticky at all and has no discernible scent. I’m not usually a fan of shiny pouts but this one gives a natural shine that doesn’t look over the top, and it keeps the lips hydrated all day.

Ciate London Liquid Velvet Moisturizing Matte Liquid Lipstick in Bitter Sweet (0.22 oz: $19) – A brownish gray shade that is simply pretty and quite like in the 90’s. It complements any skin tone, and it’s even more complementing for medium to dark complexions. It has a strong soapy jasmine scent with a true matte finish that’s long lasting and not so drying. It’s pretty much one of the best matte liquid lipsticks out there. More shades reviewed HERE.

These are really interesting set of samples that I’ve played lately, and a lot of them are really nice to have in full sizes, but if I have to narrow them down to my top 3, I’d say, the Burberry Blush Eau de Parfum is really at the top of my list, followed by By Terry Hyaluronic Face Glow and Lancer Dani Glowing Skin Perfector.

Dior Rouge Dior Liquid Matte Finish Review + Swatches

Hey there again lipsticks lovers! Here’s another exciting new release from Dior, the Rouge Dior Liquid (0.20 oz for $35) that comes in three different finishes; Matte, Satin, & Metallic. Each three effects carry such beautiful array of shades that are simply hard to resist.

Dior Rouge Dior Liquid Matte Finish review

The Rouge Dior Liquid Lipsticks are meant to be well-pigmented, good coverage lipsticks that promise comfort and lasting longevity. I’ve been waiting for these liquid lipsticks for some time. It’s like “finally, now there’s a liquid version of Dior’s well-performing Rouge Dior Lipstick!”. Since I’m a fan of the mattes of Rouge Dior, I thought it would be interesting to see how their Rouge Dior Liquid in Matte Finish would fare.

Dior Rouge Dior Liquid Matte Finish

These liquid lipsticks retained the same typical Dior scent/flavor of lipsticks, which is powdery-floral. In other words, it’s pretty much the same scent as the Rouge Dior Lipsticks (reviewed HERE). They come in a nice sleek black tube that kinda resembles the Nars Powermatte Lipsticks, but still has the Dior style and initials on the cap. The brush applicator is very interesting, it’s sort of hollow like a reservoir for the product that will be applied on the lips. With that being said, I usually use up to two swipes to get a full coverage on my lips. That’s because these lipsticks are creamy but not extremely so. If you’re familiar with Bareminerals Gen Nude Matte Liquid Lip Color (reviewed HERE) and Burberry Liquid Lip Velvet (also reviewed HERE), then the Rouge Dior Liquid is not that different from those them. They’re what I call a “comfortable matte” kind of lipsticks. They all start as creamy, and maybe even powdery as in the case of Burberry, then they have a matte finish once they set, but they never get too dry and they feel lightweight. They may still transfer but not so much, and they don’t bleed. Their effects are beautiful because it’ll look like you always have fresh matte lipsticks on. The Rouge Dior Liquid is probably the one that doesn’t transfer the most.

These are the kind of lipsticks that are worth having as one of your ride or die type of lipsticks. They’re non-drying but their effect is matte, they’re well-pigmented but they’re wearable, they transfer but only very slightly. I find that once these Rouge Dior Liquids settled on the lips, which didn’t take much time, you would have to really press it firmly against a glass or the back of your hands to actually see the smudge or transfer, which makes these lipsticks very reliable.

As for these lipsticks to be long wearing, it actually depends on each and every shade. For the lighter shades, I get a good 7 & 1/2 hours of wear with some stains still on my lips, despite eating and snacking. For the darker colors, these are pretty much beyond 7 hours for sure, because they stain the lips very well.

Here are some of the mattes I picked:

Dior Rouge Dior Liquid Matte Finish 625 mysterious matte, 828 dressed to matte

Dior Rouge Dior Liquid Matte Finish

424 Hypnotic MatteDark Pink. I don’t know if it’s my pigmented lips or that this lipstick’s shade was wrongly described, but I wouldn’t call this a dark pink. This is like nude to warm beige with a hint of pink. This is my fave shade for my light-medium complexion because it doesn’t make me look too washed-out, because of the pink in it.

574 Lively MatteDusty Pink. I would call this a mauvy pink. Although a little bit more pinkish for my taste, this shade really brightens the face and very spot on for the summer. Also a great pink color for fair to light skin tones.

614 Jungle MatteLight Brown. True to its description, I love that this gives enough warmth on my lips. A bit close to my lips’ natural shade, but still very wearable and great for a daytime look. Perhaps the similar shade for this would be Tarte Tarteist Quick Dry Matte Lip Paint in Bestie.

625 Mysterious MatteBrownish Pink. Beeyoutiful! Sexy and Perfect. This shade is definitely mysteriously gorgeous. Just like or similar to the Nars Audacious Lipstick in Mona (Emma Stone’s lip color when she won the Oscar’s, reviewed and swatched HERE), this shade is stunning and it really looks great if you have a light-medium to deep complexion. Love the perfect blend of terracotta and pink.

828 Dressed To MatteReddish Brown. If 625 Mysterious Matte is beautiful, this shade is taking it up to another level. A perfect red wine color that will truly elevate your look. I wasn’t sure whether I wanted to buy this or not, but thank goodness I did.

Bottom line, the Rouge Dior Liquid Matte Finish Lipsticks are definitely worth a try and to have. If you love matte finish or matte liquid lipsticks but hate the drying effect, then these are definitely for you. Also, these come in different shades and finishes that will for sure suit to your liking. So, which is which?

BareMinerals Gen Nude Matte Liquid Lipcolor Review

Hello Monday Guys! Have you checked out the latest matte liquid lipsticks from BareMinerals? They actually have two lineups, one for the nude shades called the Gen Nude Matte Liquid Lipcolors and another one with bolder colors which are called Statement Matte Lipcolors. They’re pretty the same in terms of formulation but I kinda prefer the shades in the Gen Nude line, not to mention that there’s 20 of them.

BareMinerals Gen Nude Matte Liquid Lipcolor Review

These Gen Nude Matte Liquid Lipcolors from BareMinerals (0.13 oz $18) are cream to matte liquid lipsticks that’s ideal for anyone who loves matte liquid lipsticks but couldn’t stand the drying effect of it, and also especially for those who already suffers from dry lips. The formula of these lipsticks is lightweight and pretty much comfortable. I love the light cocoa scent and I also like that they’re very well-pigmented and very wearable.

The closest liquid lipstick in comparison to these is the Burberry Liquid Lip Velvet (reviewed HERE), but I think these BareMinerals Gen Nudes are slightly creamier. Though the effect is matte, these doesn’t really dry down like most matte liquid lipsticks, instead, they just kinda settle into a velvety matte effect. They’re definitely not transfer-proof, but no worries because these are so pigmented that the colors won’t even fade from your lips.

Finding the right shade or shades of these creamy matte lipsticks can be quite a challenge because there’s a lot to choose from. Eventually, I settled on two shades that I really love, one is a muted pinkish beige and the other is a muted rosy mauve.

Bo$$Dirty Pink Beige. Such a badass name for a lipstick, don’tcha think? This shade will definitely make you feel like the boss because it’s a beautiful warm pinkish beige that looks very natural and also sort of edgy. This would be great as an ideal everyday lip color that’s similar to Burberry Liquid Lip Velvet in Fawn No. 05.

JujuDeep Rosy Mauve. I don’t know where they got this name, but whatever it is or whatever it means, I love this shade. It’s one of those perfect muted rose shades that you can wear anytime in any kind of day.

I find the packaging of these lipsticks to be somewhat simple but sturdy. Even the brush applicator is also sturdy and it applies precisely on the lips. For the price, well, it’s hard to complain since these are slightly more affordable than the other matte liquid lipsticks out there.

Overall, I’d give these lipsticks a 4 to 4.5 because I love their non-drying effect and I love the colors that are available. They’re great as everyday lip colors especially for those who loves matte-textured lipsticks.

What d’ya think of these?

The BareMinerals Gen Nude Matte Liquid Lipcolor is available at QVC, Ulta and Sephora
