Sephora Play! December 2017

Hello! Happy 2018! what are your wishes and New Year’s Resolution for this Year of The Dog? I know I have a lot, but I’m pretty sure that they’re still gonna be my next year’s resolution, and the next. Oh my, such is life. I can’t believe it’s already 2018, I pretty much slept my way through the New Year because I have a massive lingering jet lag. So much so that I forgot to post last month’s Sephora Play! Oh well, anyway, better late than never as always, so let’s take a look back at the contents of my Sephora Play box last month.

Make Up For Ever Artist Rouge Lipstick in Fuchsia Pink

It’s December, so the theme is all about getting a glammed up ready to party look. I wouldn’t say that the December box is the best I’ve ever had of the whole 2017, but I think it’s good and interesting enough. While I’m not also sure that the contents are that party-ready, at least I was sent some products that are very promising. So let’s examine them closely.

Drybar Triple Sec 3-in-1

Stella McCartney Stella Eau de Parfum (Mini: $25, 1 oz: $52, 1.6 oz: $72, 3.3 oz: $96) – This light floral and feminine scent is delectable in a wintry weather. With notes of rose, peony, and amber, this scent starts off strong and tones down immediately to a soft non-heady fresh feminine fragrance that you may wanna try if you’re into light scented perfumes. I love the slightly sweet and fresh floral vibe of this, and I could see this as being my signature scent.

Drybar Triple Sec 3-in-1 (Mini: $13, 4.2 oz: $26) – This dry shampoo is a time saver and really practical. It does add volume and reduce the look of oiliness in your hair, but the smell! it’s like an extremely strong scent of toasted sweet almond vanilla and cookie plus some other diabetes-inducing scents! way too sweet and way too strong, it’s almost unbearable. I prefer the Klorane dry shampoos now because of their light scent.

Caudalie Vine(Active) Energizing and Smoothing Eye Cream (0.5 oz: $39) – A promising eye cream that is supposed to smooth out wrinkles, brighten dark circles, and reduce puffiness. I love its soft, fresh, light scent and it’s really moisturizing around the eyes, which is a huge plus for me because I have a somewhat dry skin around my eye area. It’s very creamy but not too thick, so it gets absorbed by my skin easily and not just sit on top of it. I haven’t seen an obvious result yet but will continue to use this and see it for myself.

Clinique Pretty Easy Liquid Eyelining Pen in Black

Make Up For Ever Artist Rouge Lipstick in Fuchsia Pink ($22) – An ultra-pigmented long-wearing lipstick for those who like super-saturated lip colors. This lipstick comes in two textures: matte and satin. I was sent the satin one and I love the smooth creamy texture of it. However, the Fuchsia Pink is a little too much for my taste, so I would really like to try this lipstick in some other wearable colors, which I plan to do in the next few days.

Laura Mercier Caviar Stick Eye Colour in Au Naturel swatch

Laura Mercier Caviar Stick Eye Colour in Au Naturel (0.05 oz: $29) – I’m a huge fan of the Caviar Sticks because they’re just so easy and practical to use. You can create a natural to smokey eye makeup without having to deal with messy brushes and fingers, and you can do it quickly, which saves a lot of time. I also love that they’re creamy, so they glide on the eyelids pretty easily. Now with the matte shades being released, I’m more than happy to try some and collect even more shades. Some swatches of the shimmery shades can be found HERE and HERE.

Clinique Pretty Easy Liquid Eyelining Pen in Black ($21) – What can I say? this gives my favorite Stila Stay All Day Waterproof Liquid Eye Liner and Kat Von D Tattoo Liner a run for their money. The tip of this liner is so precise and the formula doesn’t budge for anything. Be it Typhoon or Cold Front, nothing beats a waterproof reliable liquid eyeliner like this.

Those are the contents of my December Sephora Play! aren’t they useful and interesting? I can only wish that this January’s box will be even better.

Happy New Year! Bones Festes! I wish you all the best in this year and for the next years to come. Muah!

Burberry Effortless Eyebrow Definer & Eye Colour Contour Review

Hiya, I donโ€™t own a lot of Burberry beauty products but my experience with the few that I own have been really great. The thing I seem to love about Burberry beauty products are their robust packaging wearable formulations that embody that whole effortless and casual chic vibe. So Brit-ish. They also seem to put some innovation in their products and add attention to details.

Anyway, hereโ€™s two Burberry products that I love and Iโ€™m definitely looking forward to adding some more of these soon.

Burberry Effortless Eyebrow Definer Sepia Swatch Review

Burberry Effortless Eyebrow Definer 02 Sepia

Burberry Effortless Eyebrow Definer in 02 Sepia ($33): Iโ€™ve been using this right from the beginning that it was released. The first of its kind, way before Anastasia’s Brow Definer came out or Benefitโ€™s Goof Proof Brow Pencil was introduced. The texture is waxy on this brow product and I like that itโ€™s not super pigmented upon first stroke so that thereโ€™s room for blending and for easy correction if ever you made a mistake. Also, this has a very natural effect on the brows and the Sepia shade is very versatile. Itโ€™s like a light grayish brown that could work on any light to medium skin tone. I love the thick and robust metallic double-ended packaging as well as the durable and useful spooley. Itโ€™s also long lasting and it fills the brows really well. The only caveat is the price, but thereโ€™s enough product in the tube to last a long time.

Burberry Eye Colour Contour Almond

Burberry Eye Colour Contour 104 Almond ($29.50): Itโ€™s hard to find a matte cream eye shadow in a sea of pen-style eye colors. Fortunately, I found this gorgeous midtone shade of matte brown from Burberry and I really love it. It goes on smoothly like a butter and itโ€™s waterproof plus it wonโ€™t budge. I love the versatility of this shade and itโ€™s ideal for layering with other colors, specially for a daytime look. I love how it contours my lids and creates a naturally soft smoky eye makeup. This is definitely a great eye color pen to have and in the same caliber as the Laura Mercier Caviar Stick or the Marc Jacobs Twinkle Pop Stickย Eyeshadow.

Burberry Effortless Eyebrow Definer Sepia & Eye Colour Contour Almond Review

These two products from Burberry are really worth trying given that they help enhance your eye makeup game like a breeze. I do have my eye on the Effortless Eyebrow Definer in 04 Malt Brown and the Eye Colour Contour in 108 Midnight Brown and 112 Rosewood.

The Burberry Effortless Eyebrow Definer is available in: Sephora, Net-A-Porter, Saks & Burberry.com

The Burberry Eye Colour Contour are also available in: Sephora, Burberry.com, Saks, Net-A-Porter & Nordstrom.

Whatcha think of these?

Laura Mercier Caviar Stick Eye Colour Part 2

laura mercier caviar stick eye colour photos reviews

Blue Hydrangea, Cashmere Cologne and White Sunshine (LDR) … oh hi there!ย Dreaming of summer already? I know, I know… just hold on, this chilly weather will be over soon. For the mean time, let’s enjoy some bright and glittery eyeshadows to brighten our day. Owkie dowkie?

I’ve added three more colorsย to my collection of Laura Mercier Caviar Stick Eye Colours. I just can’t get enough of these eyeshadow sticks. They’re sooo good and I’m hooked. If you’ve read my previous review of these eyeshadows (HERE), then you know that they’re probably one of the best (if not the best) eyeshadow sticks in the market nowadays.

As a recap, these Laura Mercier Caviar Stick Eye Colours have such an amazing array of colors to choose from, they’re a lot easier to blend compared to most eyeshadow sticks, and they’re extremely long lasting. They might be on the glittery side, but still, they’re really wearable and can be easily removed by either a makeup remover or a micellar water. So far, my skin never had any negative reaction towards these eyeshadows, and I love the fact that it’s so convenient to carry, plus all I’ll need is just a blending brush.

These three Laura Mercier Caviar Sticks are the latest addition to my collection.

  • Sugar FrostTan Beige Shimmer. This is great as a highlighter around the inner corners of the eye. If you want your eye makeup to standout, be sure to add a bit more of this in order to create some drama. Who doesn’t lurve drama?
  • SandglowSoft Bronze Shimmer. A shimmery midtone bronze-sand shade. I love this for overall lid shade. It creates slight definition on the eyes, and the shimmer is not too much.
  • AmethystSoft Mauve Pearl. A slightly shimmery mauve that is great for contouring the outer corners of the lid and for that smoky-eye look. I really like this because it’s a light mauve shade that’s blendable and it doesn’t look too purple-ish or too violet-ish, which means this won’t attract the wrong elements. Ha!

You know the other usage for these Laura Mercier Caviar Stick Eye Colours? Actually, whatever comes to your imagination. Apart from their intended purpose, these are really great for strobing or contouring, it’s just a matter of finding the right shades to do the job. ๐Ÿ™‚

Ok you guys, until next time…
