Dae Haircare Shampoo and Conditioner Review

dae shampoo conditioner

Hello all. It feels such a long time since I have written here. I miss you all terribly. It also feels like a century ago since I have held a camera in my hands, and I am afraid of losing my love for art and beauty. However, I guess I have not lost that touch after all. I am now slowly back from outer space. I feel like I have missed out on a lot of the latest beauty releases, so I will be reviewing some beauty goodies soon and some of my favorite reads and whatever it is I am up to. But before that, there is one haircare brand I would like to review in this post. It is a brand that fascinated me because I have read some subpar reviews about it. Therefore, my curious brain naturally wanted to investigate whether the Dae haircare products are something I should skip. In this review, I am featuring the Dae shampoo + conditioner.

Shampoo

The scent is amazing and is one of the most well-scented shampoos I have ever tried. There is something nostalgic about the scent, which reminds me of the scent commonly found in most shampoos in the pacific. It is a blend of fresh floral with a tropical island vibe, which makes me think that the shampoo is ideal for summer because of its scent. When it comes to the texture and overall performance of the shampoo, I realize that I have such a different opinion compared to the others who have tried it. Most people say that the shampoo made their hair dry, yet it works the opposite for me. My hair did not feel dry after using it, and in fact, my hair felt a lot cleaner. The texture is very smooth, and it lathers very well with just a minimum amount of the product.

Conditioner

The conditioner is also a very good haircare product, in my opinion. The scent is relatively mild when compared to the shampoo, but I like it that way. The overall feel of the conditioner is not heavy, and there is no need to use a lot of it. A tiny drop can cover most hair strands, and it does not add any residue to the hair. The product is certified clean at Sephora, and it does keep the hair moisturized, especially on these cold, dry days. It can also work for all hair types.

dae haircare review

Overall, I am impressed with the shampoo and conditioner by Dae haircare. Not only is the packaging aesthetically pleasing and highly Instagrammable :-), I am amazed by how the products worked well for my hair. I am not quite certain why some folks had an opposite reaction to such haircare products, but my experience with the shampoo and conditioner has been wonderful so far.

Olaplex Bond Maintenance Shampoo, Conditioner, Bond Smoother & Bonding Oil Review

Olaplex No. 6 Bond Smoother Reparative Styling Creme

It has been a few years since I reviewed the original Olaplex Hair Perfector No. 3ย (reviewed HERE). It was the product that started it all. Since then, Olaplex has released a couple of exciting hair care products that are meant to be restorative on the hair. As for me, I’m a loyal fan of the Hair Perfector and I use it regularly. It does help to keep my hair strands strong and less prone to breakage. However, I did wonder if I could fortify my strands further with the other products that Olaplex now has. So here’s my experience with their shampoo, conditioner, styling creme, and hair oil.

Olaplex No. 4 Bond Maintenance Shampoo review

No. 4 Bond Maintenance Shampoo (mini/3.3 – 8.5 oz: 14 – 28 USD) – I’m so glad that Olaplex released this. I’ve been wondering how their shampoo will be like, prior to them releasing this, and I think they’ve done a really good job with this product. I totally love the nice refreshing citrus/orange scent of this and I also love that this shampoo has a good weight to it. Not too watery, not too thick, and this doesn’t leave the hair too dry that it will feel stripped, nor does this leave the hair too heavy that it won’t have any volume. This is a shampoo for any hair type and is safe for hair that is color-treated. Also, this is made of clean ingredients.

olaplex no 5 bond maintenance conditioner review

No. 5 Bond Maintenance Conditioner (mini/3.3 – 8.5 oz: 14 – 28 USD) – Just like the Bond Maintenance Shampoo, the fresh citrus/orange scent of this is totally a sensorial experience. I also love the consistency of this conditioner, which is not too thin and not too thick. Although I still only put a small amount of this on my hair, I still think that this conditioner is not the type that weighs the hair down. Most importantly, I really that this tames the frizzies and this makes the hair look shiny and healthy. On top of that, this conditioner is for all hair types and is color-safe.

No. 6 Bond Smoother Reparative Styling Creme (3.3 oz: 28 USD) – With just the size of the mini version of the shampoo and conditioner above, I wasn’t quite sure what to expect of this leave-in styling creme until I’ve actually applied it on my hair. Like the products above, this has a very strong citrus/orange scent which I love and the texture of this is so thick. You only have to apply a pea size of this on the hair, or else your hair will look heavy and oily. Right after application, I felt my hair strands feeling a bit dry, I think because this a bit of alcohol in it, but after a few hours, my hair felt soft, looks totally well-tamed, healthy, shiny, and totally frizz-free even after walking outside with high humidity.

This product is Sulfate-free, Paraben-free, and cruelty-free, among other things. This also works for any hair type and can be used prior to blow-drying.

olaplex no 7 bonding oil review

No. 7 Bonding Oil (1 oz: 28 USD) – What a cute hair care product this is, and this also smells really really good like the Olaplex products above, The orange/citrus scent of this is not too strong and not artificial. I also like that this is packaged in a sleek clear acrylic container. This may feel and look very small, but the overall design and aesthetic of this product are simply very stunning and very beautiful, which makes this a good decor in the vanity area as well.

Even though this may be small for its price, you only need a few drops of this oil to coat your hair and this doesn’t feel sticky nor does this add any weight to the hair. I actually find this to be ultra-lightweight, like the dry oil type, and per Olaplex, this protects the hair for up to 450ยฐF/ 230ยฐC. For me, this also tames the frizz, adds shine, and this provides nourishment. Additionally, this is also perfect for any hair type and is vegan, cruelty-free, and also gluten-free.

I really like Olaplex’s concept of restoring the hair’s natural vitality, which can be achieved by re-linking the broken bonds, and by adding extra nourishment on the strands. I also love that their hair care products can be used by any hair type, texture, or even if you’ve had hair treatments done. Our hair goes through a lot of stresses in life every day, which can manifest in split ends, frizzies, or even dryness and oiliness. It’s good to have some hair care products like these from Olaplex. I, personally, have noticed that my hair strands are slowly becoming thicker, stronger, and less prone to breakage.

Playa Hair Care Review

playa haircare

Hello. Here’s a hair care brand that’s been popping out of my Insta feed regularly and it’s got a really cool name – Playa. This is the hair care brand I have mentioned in one of my previous hair care posts that seems to be really interesting especially for those who need a boost of moisture for their hair and could also work for those with oily strands.

In this post, I will be talking about Playa’s Instagram-favorite Every Day Shampoo and Supernatural Conditioner. But before that, I would like to mention that this brand has Sephora’s clean seal, so, the products are pretty much made of all-natural ingredients and also cruelty-free. I love their concept of promoting effortless beauty by simplifying the hair care products we use, which I’m all for.

playa every day shampoo

Every Day Shampoo (8.45 oz: 28 USD) – This shampoo is made for all hair types and this has a pretty recognizable coconut scent. I also noticed some hints of honey plus some other natural oils. The overall scent composition gives a very tropical vibe. Not sweet, just sun, sand, and coconuts. The texture of this is like a thick gel and is slightly yellow-tinged. I find this to be foamy and this cleanses really well without the feeling of my strands drying. That’s because this shampoo is a very moisturizing one. The cleansing effect is very gentle and this keeps the hair moisturized without weighing it down. I believe this shampoo is meant for those with dry hair but will probably be a staple for me during the Winter months where my hair tends to experience some dryness. I also think that this is one of those shampoos that you can use every day.

Supernatural Conditioner (8.45 oz: 28 USD) – This conditioner has a very interesting texture. This probably has the smoothest texture I’ve ever felt in a conditioner and most conditioners have a very smooth texture already. Yet this one feels very buttery smooth, yellow-toned, and has an interesting scent of coconut and some other edible oils. This somewhat reminds me of the Kiehl’s Crรจme de Corps in terms of consistency. I do find that using only a little bit of this is enough to coat and moisturize the hair. As a very moisturizing conditioner, I still recommend this for those with dry hair especially for those with frizz issues. Because of the amazing consistency and how good this conditioner performs, I think this will definitely make you feel supernatural ๐Ÿ™‚ and is definitely one of my top picks in hair conditioners out there.

playa every day shampoo review

Overall, with the neat packaging, clean ingredients, unique scent, and really good quality of this Playa Every Day Shampoo + Supernatural Conditioner, I think there is a lot to look forward to with this brand.

Have you tried any of these?
