Chanel Le Vernis Longwear Nail Colour Review & Swatches, Part 2

chanel le vernis longwear nail colour reviews swatches

Hey guys and gurlz, since this month has been a month of adding additional products or colors to my collection of holy grail beauty products, and Chanel has been adding more shades to their newly-reformulated Chanel Le Vernis, I have also added a few more colors to my stash. The first part of this review can be seen HERE.

The new formulation of the Chanel Le Vernis Nail Polishes have been really amazing for me because of all the nail polishes I’ve tried lately, these new Chanel Le Vernis seem to last the longest on me. Around 2 weeks and a bit more. They have minimal chipping and the colors stay rich, especially if you use the Le Gel Top Coat (reviewed HERE) that is recommended with it.

I really like red nail polishes or vampy nail colors. There’s something just something about them that makes my hands/fingers look gorge. I guess because they make suchย a huge contrast against my medium skin tone, so each dark colors really pop out.ย

I purchased the Rouge Essentiel, Rouge Puissant first because I had my eyes on them from the moment I saw them online. Then I added Pirate and Rouge Noir because I have always been a fan of these two from the previous formulation, and I wanted to still have them in this newly-reformulated Chanel Le Vernis. And also becauseย this new Le Vernis is much more long wearing than the previous one.

Take note that all the three reds in this review are so difficult to photograph because their colors are so close to each other. Theyย ranged from bright red toย a blue-toned dark red. In fact, you almost couldn’tย tell the difference.ย

Rouge Essentiel – A true bright red color that has a very creamy consistency. One coat will do the job, but two coats will give extra richness to theย shade. This is definitely an essential red for all seasons and for all skin colors.

Rouge PuissantMid-Red with a slight blue undertone. This color is so close (slightly lighter) to the Pirate shade that you almost can’t distinguish the subtle difference between the two. The only big difference is that this shade has a creamier consistency than Pirate. Actually, if you already have the Pirate shade, then you probably don’t need this. But if you find the Pirate shade to be a bit too dark, then you’ll probably be happy with this.

Rouge NoirBloody Mary Vampire-Red. It’s like Vamp but without the glitter. One of my favorite Chanel Le Vernis shades of all time. Yes, I prefer this over Vamp. This has a very rich deep dark red that is almost brown or black, but it actually looks like wine once applied. Though the first coat of this newly-reformulated shade seems a bit streaky, the second coat will make it perfect.

PirateBlue -toned deep red. Another classic deep red shade that I like the most from Chanel. This red is the ideal dark red that is not super vampy and not super bright either. It complements any skin tone and though it has always been streaky in both formulations, this shade isย buildable and long lasting.

Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer Review

nars radiant concealer custard review

Ask me what’s my favorite concealer and I will tell that it’s from Nars. It’s the Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer in Custard. There’s just something about this particular concealer. Well, it’s actually a lot of things. First, this is a medium to full-coverage concealer that is blendable and won’t make your skin look cakey. It’s creamy and won’t settle on your fine lines. Second, it really conceals the skeletons in your closet, LOLย Third, it can also work as a highlighter for contouring and strobing. Fourth, it also works to correct skin redness, evens complexion and retains moisture. And last but not the least, it’s packed with antioxidants to give your skin a radiant and glowy finish. Hmmm, this reminds me a lot of Nars Pure Radiant Tinted Moisturizer. The more you use it, the more it improves your skin and the more you’ll love it.

The Custard shade is ideal for my “slightly lightened” winterized skin. It has a yellowish tone that suits anyone with a light to medium skin tone. I use it a lot for my undereye circles, and then set it with Laura Mercier Translucent Powder. ย Well, this really works wonders for me. My face looks more awake during the days where I lack sleep.

This concealer is a bit pricey, but it’s so worth it because it really does its job very well. It’s no surprise that it’s an award-winning concealer because its quality is outstanding.

Are you a fan of this concealer too?

Laura Mercier Caviar Stick Eye Colour Part 2

Blue Hydrangea, Cashmere Cologne and White Sunshine (LDR) … oh hi there!ย Dreaming of summer already? I know, I know… just hold on, this chilly weather will be over soon. For the mean time, let’s enjoy some bright and glittery eyeshadows to brighten our day. Owkie dowkie?

I’ve added three more colorsย to my collection of Laura Mercier Caviar Stick Eye Colours. I just can’t get enough of these eyeshadow sticks. They’re sooo good and I’m hooked. If you’ve read my previous review of these eyeshadows (HERE), then you know that they’re probably one of the best (if not the best) eyeshadow sticks in the market nowadays.

As a recap, these Laura Mercier Caviar Stick Eye Colours have such an amazing array of colors to choose from, they’re a lot easier to blend compared to most eyeshadow sticks, and they’re extremely long lasting. They might be on the glittery side, but still, they’re really wearable and can be easily removed by either a makeup remover or a micellar water. So far, my skin never had any negative reaction towards these eyeshadows, and I love the fact that it’s so convenient to carry, plus all I’ll need is just a blending brush.

These three Laura Mercier Caviar Sticks are the latest addition to my collection.

  • Sugar FrostTan Beige Shimmer. This is great as a highlighter around the inner corners of the eye. If you want your eye makeup to standout, be sure to add a bit more of this in order to create some drama. Who doesn’t lurve drama?
  • SandglowSoft Bronze Shimmer. A shimmery midtone bronze-sand shade. I love this for overall lid shade. It creates slight definition on the eyes, and the shimmer is not too much.
  • AmethystSoft Mauve Pearl. A slightly shimmery mauve that is great for contouring the outer corners of the lid and for that smoky-eye look. I really like this because it’s a light mauve shade that’s blendable and it doesn’t look too purple-ish or too violet-ish, which means this won’t attract the wrong elements. Ha!

You know the other usage for these Laura Mercier Caviar Stick Eye Colours? Actually, whatever comes to your imagination. Apart from their intended purpose, these are really great for strobing or contouring, it’s just a matter of finding the right shades to do the job. ๐Ÿ™‚

Ok you guys, until next time…
