Big Little Lies Book Review

Things are seemingly perfect in Pirriwee. Everyone’s so nice and welcoming. What could go wrong? Until one Trivia Night….

Hey Everyone! I just finished reading this Big Little Lies book by Liane Moriarty and I know that HBO is about to release the series adaptation of this book at this month! Yes this February, like February 19! Yeah, OMG! Well, let me tell you that this book is quite an amazing fun read. The title is catchy and it’s pretty thick, but no worries, as each chapters are very short. So it’s gonna be quick and painless.

What I like about this book is how the characters are well-written. They’re well-characterized and their personalities and conflicts are well-described. They grow on you and they’re such interesting personas living in a so-called idyllic Pirriwee Peninsula.

The story revolves around (mostly of) three women; Madeline, Celeste and Jane. Jane is new in town, ( like in the HBO trailer, portrayed by Shailene Woodley) and her kid Ziggy (as in Ziggy Stardust) will be joining the Pirriwee Public. Madeline is a savvy, vigilant, multitasking, fierce and fashionable mom, while Celeste is ethereal, gorgeous, perfect and super rich.

Their kids will eventually attend Pirriwee Public and they will all meet some familiar faces from their past. There will be groups of snobby and nosy parents together with the seemingly clueless teachers. There will be kid fights, bullying, jealousy, attraction, gossip, scandal, hate, pain, suffering, and secrets. Like the book’s title, Big Little Lies. One small lie could snowball into something big.

All the characters’ lives will intertwine on their long awaited Trivia Night of the Pirriwee Public. Soon, their lives will change forever.

This book will grow on you. It is entertaining, shocking, relatable and riveting. It’ll make you think twice about the people around you. Hmmm…

MAC Liptensity Lipstick Review

Mama Mia MAC! Hi to all the Mac fanatics out there! I’m pretty sure you all know what I’m gonna talk about today. It’s the MAC Liptensity Lipsticks and mind you, they’re great. I’m not really sure what caught my attention when I purchased these lipsticks. Perhaps it’s the different-looking packaging. There’s something interesting, odd and futuristic about it. They just don’t look like your ordinary lipstick. At the beginning, I wasn’t really sure what they were, I thought they’re some kind of a lip stain/lip balm hybrid. But nope, they’re lipsticks, and they’re not like most lipsticks.

These MAC Lipstensities are probably one of the most pigmented lipsticks I’ve ever tried. Such intensity that the color/stain remains on your lips even after taking the lipstick off. The darker shades being the ones that tend to stain more. The colors are very flattering, and I think there are more dark tones than lighter ones (in my opinion), which is quite the opposite of what I usually see in most range of lipstick colors.

Even though I like the range of colors of this MAC liptensities, somehow I found myself having trouble of choosing a few for myself. I mean, don’t get me wrong, these are one of the best lipsticks out there, and the best in pigment so far, but I noticed that since these lippies were so oozing with pigments, their shades from their tubes don’t translate well once applied and swatched, and they tend to look slightly neon-ish. For example, the shade Dionysus above or below looks more like a deep brown shade, but it’s actually a deep reddish plum. Even the shade Smoked Almond didn’t look quite like a bright rose brown. It’s more of a warm medium nude on me. On top of that, the pinks and corals tend to be quite bright.

I suggest you try these MAC liptensities in person, take time to swatch them carefully, then think and look again whether it’s the right shade for you. Personally, I really like the shades that I reviewed here. I think the Smoke Almond shade is extremely wearable for everyday look, and the Dionysus shade is great for a night out or for some exquisite dinner. Agree?

Apart from the amazing pigment that these liptensities have, I also like the way they feel on my lips. They’re exremely lightweight and has a satiny finish. Though they still transfer but the color remains, and they don’t feel very sticky. Lurve it.

This eyeshadow palette in sooo pretty, from its gilded packaging down to the rich colors of each eyeshadow, you can never take your eyes off this gorgeous Tartelette in Bloom. It’s got all you need for that perfect all-in-one eyeshadow palette. There are nine mattes and three shimmers that’ll surely flatter every skin tone. You can mix and match, create natural daytime looks or go bold without a care in the world. If you’re indecisive, you can always go by column or by row to follow the shades to use.

This is my first Tarte Eyeshadow and I am not disappointed at all. I’m amazed by its pigment, its softness and how good they look on my eyes. They’re blendable, buildable and long lasting. In fact, they kinda remind me of Lorac Pro, (reviewed HERE) which I also love. I adore the matte shades in this palette because they’re very versatile, and the shimmery shades are not over-the-top.

I can’t really say which shades I like the most. I enjoyed most of them, and I can’t wait to wear them often and wear them even more for spring.

This Tartelette In Bloom is truly a great eyeshadow palette and should be a must have. I swear it, cross my heart and cross my feet. ????
