FabFitFun Spring 2020

FabFitFun Spring 2020 box review

Hi there. Before this season ends, I’d like to share with you what’s inside my FabFitFun Spring Box. I think the stuff I got this Spring is quite interesting and I feel like I could use all the products that FFF sent me even though I wasn’t quite sure whether I got all the customized stuff. Nevertheless, I feel like this season’s FFF box and most of the FFF boxes I got in general never cease to surprise me because of the fun stuff they contain.

This season’s box seems to contain a couple of very interesting skincare goodies, and I think the highlights of my box are the following:

Tarte Tarteist Pro Glow Highlight & Contour Palette review

Wei Two-In-One Purify and Glow Mask Collection (45 USD) – This set of brown sugar and golden root mask is very fun to use. I find the packaging of this to be very cute and this comes with a wooden brush applicator, so you can apply each individual mask on the face thoroughly. For me, the brown sugar mask is really exfoliating and it smells nice.

Tarte Tarteist Pro Glow Highlight & Contour Palette (45 USD) – This palette will have you covered for your strobing and contouring needs. I feel like you’ll have everything you’ll need to create an amazing facial contour with this big palette.

Revive Light Therapy Glo Wrinkle And Anti-Aging Light Device review

Revive Light Therapy Glo Wrinkle And Anti-Aging Light Device (68 USD) – This very interesting device emits red led light to stimulate collagen and elastin on the skin, with the goal of limiting the appearance of wrinkles on the face. While I don’t have any wrinkles yet to warrant the use of this, I can definitely see myself using this in the future.

Pลซrlisse Watermelon Energizing 2 Minute Polishing Peel

Pลซrlisse Watermelon Energizing 2 Minute Polishing Peel (35 USD) – This is another one of my faves in this season’s box, and this truly smells like fresh bursts of watermelon which is so refreshing on the skin and on the face. This product is basically a glycolic peel that really polishes off the dead skin cells from the face, which then leaves the skin a nice resurfaced smooth texture. A reminiscent of Huda Beauty’s Wishful Yo Glow Facial Enzyme Scrub and Peter Thomas Roth’s Firmx Peel. I love this product a lot.

Chic & Tonic Silicone Straws (15 USD) – I love the idea of this. After seeing the risk of what plastic straws can do to sea turtles and our wildlife in general, I believe that it’s much better to skip on using straws at all, or better yet, use some reusable ones like these silicone straws which comes with a brush cleaner and a carrying case. Isn’t this a neat idea?

This Works Deep Sleep Body Cocoon

Ag Hair Fast Food Leave-On Conditioner (24 USD) – This smells really really good and yummy. Once this is applied on the hair, every strand becomes relaxed, less-frizzy, and with a fabulous lingering scent that is overall very very dreamy, and nice. I’m really impressed by this product and this doesn’t add weight to the hair. I’m glad that this comes in a large tube, so I can use this for a very long time.

This Works Deep Sleep Body Cocoon (40 USD) – This multipurpose body cream has a very strong lavender scent that can be very relaxing and soothing. Though I’m not quite crazy about this mainly because of the strong scent, I still find this to be really moisturizing on the skin and this softens dry rough patches or dry areas of the body. This is great to use at night and you might like the lavender scent which can promote sleep.

Jabonerรญa Marianella Imperial Jade Body Oil (68 USD) – This body oil is probably my least favorite item in this season’s box. I find the scent of this to be quite weird. Although this is a pricey moisturizing oil, I am not a fan of the scent. To me, this smells like a strong lemongrass soup. Hmmm… I’m not quite sure if I’d want to smell like soup all day long (lol) so, I think, I’ll just skip on this.

That sums up the contents of my FFF box this season. I’m definitely excited for what’s coming inside my box this Summer. Did you enjoy your FabFitFun box this season too?

Kaja Beauty Cushy Vibe High-Pigment Lip Stain Review + Swatches

Kaja Beauty Cushy Vibe High-Pigment Lip Stain review

Hello all. I am momentarily back. Between packing and doing some home improvements, I am sneaking in this review. I’ve always wanted to talk about the Kaja Cushy Vibe High-Pigment Lip Stain (0.19 oz: currently on sale for 9 USD) which is one of my lipsticks of choice nowadays. It’s been a while since I’ve put on makeup, so with this reopening, though not exactly a perfect scenario for all of us, is somewhat of a breath of fresh air. It’s nice to see the world mobilizing again and it’s nice to put on a lipstick again :-).

Kaja Cushy Vibe High-Pigment Lip Stain

I like the Kaja Cushy Vibe Lip Stain because I can customize the intensity of my lip color depending on the amount that I apply. The formula is definitely very cushy, thick, almost-whipped, yet very lightweight and comfy. It has a nice light fruity scent that is very appealing, and it comes with a robust brush applicator. At first application, the formula feels very creamy, which then sets into a softly diffused matte in a matter of minutes. It never feels drying on the lips and the pigment is totally vivid and long-wearing. It kind of reminds me of the Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood Lips Liquid Lipstick (seen here) which I totally love, yet this Kaja Cushy Vibe has a very delicious scent.

Kaja Beauty Cushy Vibe High-Pigment Lip Stain review

The Kaja Cushy Vibe Lip Stain is cruelty-free, vegan, and free of parabens and sulfates. I believe this is another great product from Kaja and I’m really impressed by the quality, especially given the price tag. Some of the deep shades may be quite blotchy at first application, but it does even out when applied carefully and thoroughly on the lips. Personally, I like applying this in the middle of the lips, in order to create a gradient lip look, and then let this set for a couple of minutes before I put on my mask.

I suggest you grab one or more of this lip stain now before this gets completely sold out. I definitely recommend this for the overall wonderful quality and I hope Kaja will keep this in stock at Sephora all the time.

*Many thanks to Kaja Beauty(Memebox) for providing these lip stains. The reviews and opinions herein are solely by the editor.

Drunk Elephant Kamili Cream Body Cleanser & Sili Body Lotion Review

Drunk Elephant Kamili Cream Body Cleanser Review

Drunk Elephant recently released their bath and body collection, which also includes a couple of products for the hair. In this review, I’ll be focusing on their Body Cleanser and their Body Lotion. I did have a sample of their Sweet Pitti Deodorant, which I’m still in the process of testing and will update you all soon.

Like most Drunk Elephant products, I was very excited about this release. Who doesn’t love DE skincare? Most of their stuff is really wonderful and you could say truly skin-changing. Unfortunately, upon trying their newest Kamili Cream Body Cleanser and their Sili Body Lotion, I find myself having mixed feelings about these products.

Drunk Elephant Kamili Cream Body Cleanser Review

The Kamili Cream Body Cleanser (8.0 oz: 20 USD), though made for all skin types and has totally clean ingredients, is clearly a cleanser made for very very sensitive skin. It doesn’t foam or lather very much, so you’ll need a lot of it in every wash. I do like its very interesting ingredients which are definitely moisturizing on the skin. I like that it has different blends of healthy oils and antioxidants, like Marula Oil, Sacha Inchi Seed Oil, and Omega 3 Fatty Acids, among other things. I also like its cute packaging. However, I’m not a big fan of its scent. It smells like Play-Doh or Elmer’s Glue-All which can be hard to tolerate. Also, since it doesn’t form a lot of suds, it will not feel very good for those who tend to have oily skin, as you may feel like it’s not cleansing very well.

Drunk Elephant Sili Body Lotion Review

I thought the Sili Body Lotion (8.0 oz: 20 USD) will be quite different from the Kamili Body Cleanser, especially in terms of the scent, but unfortunately, this lotion smells just like the cleanser above. There isn’t much difference. This lotion is also made of clean and very moisturizing ingredients, which is nice, but I find the texture of this to be the type that sort of sits on top of the skin for a few minutes, which I’m not a fan of. I like my lotions to set into my skin easily so that it won’t stick to my clothes. But anyway, if you like a hydrating body lotion that is made for sensitive skin and you can tolerate its weird almond play-doh scent, then you might be ok with this.

Drunk Elephant Sili Body Lotion

Personally, I think there are better alternatives out there. I like my body lotions and body cleansers to have at least a decent pleasing scent, especially if it comes from a certain brand name with a certain price tag. These, unfortunately, aren’t my cup of teas. I believe there are better drugstore alternatives for these out there. Not sure why, I kind of expected a lot more from DE, but I think I can understand. Must be that these were released during this pandemic? Hmmm, I could think of a few correlations :-).

On a side note, please excuse my occasional posts. I will be MIA from time to time for a few weeks because I’m in the process of moving from my humble abode in the middle of this pandemic. I would like to say that it’s not scary or risky, but it is. Wish me luck! Here’s to chasing our dreams in this Covid-19 era! (virtual cheers!).

P.S. If you’re wondering where I got my pair of Carole Baskin-ish espadrilles (lol), it’s available HERE.
