Chanel Fall-Winter 2019 Beauty Favorites

Chanel Les 4 Ombres Multi-Effect Quadra Eyeshadow in 328 Blurry Mauve

Nothing gets me in the mood for Fall than getting some new Chanel Beauty goodies. I don’t know why, it must be the changing colors or the transitioning weather along with the gorgeous cool palettes and lipsticks that Chanel tends to release every Autumn, but there’s definitely something about all these factors that make me really excited about what’s supposed to be a very chilly season this year (hopefully not). But before we start with the Chanel beauties I’m loving this Fall and Winter, please have a look at my Chanel Faves last Fall 2018, click HERE.

I didn’t really pick up all the stuff that Chanel released this Fall-Winter 2019, and that’s because there were some new releases that I didn’t quite like, so I ended up adding some items that were mostly released earlier this year which I’ve been wishlisting for a while.

I skipped on the two new eyeshadows released this season (Les 4 Ombres Quadra Eyeshadows) because I wasn’t feeling the shades, or it’s more like I wasn’t sure whether if I could pull off the shades or not, since one compact seems to be too dark and the other seems to be too futuristic on me, lol. I did get a few more shades of my favorite Rouge Allure Liquid Powders, but I skipped on the new Rouge Allure Ink Fusion, which is the new and improved version of the Rouge Allure Ink. I did kind of regret doing that, so I might actually feature that particular Chanel lip product anytime soon in one of my upcoming posts, and I will definitely let you know whether it’s worth having or not, and whether it’s really better than the original Chanel Rouge Allure Ink. So, stay tuned for that. I also added one more shade in my stash of the Chanel Le Crayon Mat and one more of the Chanel Rouge Allure Velvet Extreme. Anyways, check out my Chanel Beauty haul this Autumn.

Chanel Les 4 Ombres Multi-Effect Quadra Eyeshadow in 328 Blurry Mauve

Les 4 Ombres Multi-Effect Quadra Eyeshadow in 328 Blurry Mauve (62 USD) – Released last May 2019, this is the eyeshadow that’s giving me the feels this Fall, apart from the 268 Candeur Et Expรฉrience which is also a very good spice-toned quad of shades. I picked this one up because I like its wearable color scheme, which is very versatile and can be worn not only for this Fall-Winter, but also throughout any season and on any day. Its mix of natural earthy tones and pale/neutral mauve tones are easy for a transitional weather everyday look, and it reminds me a bit of the 308 Clair-Obscur Chanel eyeshadow compact released last Fall 2018 which I still love nowadays as well. The shades of this quad compact are matte and their overall effect adds warmth and color on the face without looking too gothic or too metallic. See more Chanel eyeshadow swatches HERE.

Rouge Allure Liquid Powder (30 USD) – I picked three shades this Fall and they are all gorgeous.

Chanel Rouge Allure Liquid Powder 978 Bois de Nuit

978 Bois de Nuit – this is a new shade this Fall 2019. On my lips, this looks like a pale light rose pink. Indoor, this shade is quite hard to see on my lips and this is almost on the border of being too light for me, but in broad daylight, this shows as a perfect everyday healthy pink lip glow for a “no-makeup” makeup look.

970 Ruby Red – this is very similar to the shade 960 Avant Gardiste (seen HERE) that was released last year, but perhaps this is more on the purple raspberry pink side, but I honestly almost could not tell the difference between this and the Avant Gardiste shade.

968 Vintage Pink – released early this year, this shade is quite similar to the 978 Bois de Nuit above, but this is a bit warmer and deeper in tone, so, it looks more like a muted vintage rose pink on me, which actually suits my skin very well.

Chanel Le Rouge Crayon de Couleur Mat in 287 Rosy Wood

Rouge Allure Velvet Extreme in 128 Rose Nocturne (38 USD) – a FAll 2019 release, this shade is like a vintage rose brown. It looks great when applied lightly on the lips for that perfect Fall lip shade, and it also looks fabulous when applied fully on the lips. The texture is very matte, lightweight, and very long-wearing. See more of the Chanel Rouge Allure Velvet Extreme Lipsticks HERE.

Le Rouge Crayon de Couleur Mat in 287 Rosy Wood (38 USD) – This isn’t new this Fall, but this is a limited edition shade. I picked this one up because I really love the long-wearing pigment of this particular Chanel lip pencil. It’s not as matte as the Rouge Allure Velvet Extreme Lipstick (above) but this stains the lips for hours and hours, so it’s one of those reliable lip products for me. The Rosy Wood shade looks more woody brown with a rosy hint up close.

To sum it up, the Chanel new releases this Fall/Winter are great, especially the lip products, and the overall new releases this year are also amazing and some of them are definite must-haves. Also, the items I picked for this review are really good in terms of quality, pigment, wear, and versatility. They’re enough to get me inspired for the long chilly months.

Jouer Cosmetics Blush Bouquet Palette Review

Jouer Cosmetics Blush Bouquet Palettes

Hello you guys. My apologies if I’m MIA lately. I’m traveling a lot nowadays and life is pretty hectic here on my end. However, I’ll do my best to share with you some of the stuff I’m up to especially when it comes to makeup and beauty.

Jouer Cosmetics Blush Bouquet Palette review and swatch

One of my favorite beauty finds and is a star of my travel makeup pouch is the Jouer Blush Bouquet Dual Blush Palette (0.39 oz: 30 USD, mini: 18 USD). This blush duo palette features complementary shades that are packed with very good pigment. The shades are velvety smooth and they blend easily. I love how they last the whole day on me with just a few light strokes of a fluffy blush brush on my cheeks, using the EcoTools brush you see in the following photos of this review. Each palette is dermatologist-tested, talc-free, gluten-free, and it contains Vitamin E – per Jouer’s description. There are several duo palettes to choose from that cater to different skin tones. Also, most of these Jouer blush compacts come in the regular 0.39 oz/11 gram size, but there is also one shade (Rose Gold) that comes in mini size, which is a very good starter blush palette if you want to try one of these Jouer blushes in the future.

I got three palettes of these blushes and check them out below.

Cheeky Summer – Terracotta Sands (shimmering warm bronze) / Hot Coral (shimmering warm coral)

Jouer Cosmetics Blush Bouquet Palette Cheeky Summer

This is a limited-edition duo palette for the Summer, but it’s still available at Nordstrom and Beautylish. This is the first Jouer Blush Bouquet that I own and I totally love it, especially for the pigment. I was a bit wary at first due to the shimmers, but it didn’t really give me that extreme shine. The duos are of medium coral and bronze shades that are still wearable not just for the Summer but all throughout any season.

Rose Goldย  – Marigold (warm shimmering golden peach) / Rose Petal (cool shimmering light coral)

I got this in mini because I couldn’t resist its beautiful shades. This size is ideal for traveling and it looks like a good blend of the Adore and Cheeky Summer palettes. The shades are a bit bronzey + coral/peachy. There’s some shimmer on the Marigold shade but it’s not extremely shimmery.

Adore – Adore Me (matte warm dusty peach) / Hold Me (shimmering warm pale-nude peach)

I wasn’t quite sure whether I wanted this palette at first since the colors seem to be too light for my skin tone, however, since this is the bestselling Jouer Blush Bouquet compact, I got really curious. Upon trying this, I then realize why it’s the bestseller. It’s because this palette is probably the perfect everyday blush palette for fair to light-medium skin tone, and they are basically matte. The shades are also on the nude peach/coral side. The colors do show on my skin, and it gives that natural flush on my cheeks, but if you’re medium to deep, might as well pick a palette with deeper tones/shades than this compact.

Bottom line, I would love to have all the shades of these blush palettes. They are very well-pigmented and totally wearable. The lasting power is also amazing, and the whole packaging just a sight to behold. Therefore, I highly recommend that you try at least one of these, but most likely, you’ll end up with a few more of these, lol.

The Jouer Blush Bouquet Dual Blush Palette is currently available at Sephora, Nordstrom, Dermstore, and Beautylish

Huda Beauty Power Bullet Matte Lipstick Review + Swatches

Huda Beauty Power Bullet Matte Lipstick swatch

Hello All. Needing a new matte lipstick this Fall? Here’s a lipstick I couldn’t wait to review. The Huda Beauty Power Bullet Matte Lipstick (25 USD) is a deeply pigmented matte lipstick with a magnetic square packaging and a diamond-shaped tip. It has a slight coconut scent and it comes in different shade collections: The Icon collection, The Rose Collection, and the Throwback Collection. Most of the shades are mostly named after a woman’s or anybody’s important period/stages in life, which are very interesting and totally relatable.

Huda Beauty Power Bullet Matte Lipstick

At first glance, this lipstick slightly reminded me of the Giorgio Armani Rouge D’Armani Matte (reviewed and swatched HERE) especially texture-wise, but I will tell you later whether this really is on par with the amazing Rouge D’armani Matte. What I can tell you is that this particular lipstick glides on the lips easily and it feels light. Once applied, it almost has no shine and it’s completely matte. It is probably one of the most insanely pigmented matte lipsticks I’ve ever tried, and the range of colors available “seem” to be quite diverse. Let’s take a look.

Here are 6 shades taken from all three collections.

Huda Beauty Power Bullet Matte Lipstick

First Kiss – deep rose mauve, very similar to Wedding Day, but has a more rosy tone.

Graduation Day – very deep brown-mauve, appears dark brown in most lighting. On my skin tone, this looks too ashy and ghastly.

Interview – medium rose nude, looks like this could work in almost all skin tone. On my skin, this looks like an everyday nude.

Pay Day – very deep mauve, think purple+magenta mix.

Rendezvous – muted pink rose with a coral tone. On my skin, this looks too coral/neon-ish.

Wedding Day – also a deep rose mauve, very similar to First Kiss, but has a more mauve tone.

This lipstick is giving me mixed feelings. I had high hopes about it at first, but then there are a few things about this that I didn’t quite like. First of all, the colors are quite difficult to photograph because some of them look very similar to each other, and they do change tones depending on your natural lip color. What I noticed is that this also changes shade once it warms up on the skin. Second thing, if you twist the lipstick all the way up, you’ll notice that there’s not really much product in its matte tube. It looks like you’re only getting half a lipstick when compared to most full-sized ones. It’s just housed in a large square packaging. Third, the swatches online are quite different when compared to the shades in real life. In reality, the colors appear darker, extremely pigmented, and most of them are on the deep brown and purple spectrum. I had a hard time finding the right shades for my light-medium skin tone, and if you have a fair to light complexion, there may not be enough shades that could match you. But, if you’re medium to deep, then you will most probably love this lipstick line. I also would like to think that this lipstick and its shades are probably meant for Fall, so that might be it.

In comparison to the Rouge D’Armani Matte, I find this lipstick to be quite drying as opposed to the lightweight moisturizing feel of the D’Armani Matte. If you ask me what are some of my favorite matte lipsticks out there, I can tell you that apart from the Armani ones, you can look into the Chanel Rouge Allure Velvet (seen HERE) or the Velvet Extreme (reviewed HERE). I also love the Shiseido Modern Matte Powder Lipstickย for its very lightweight feel and outstanding pigment (HERE).

So, overall, though this lipstick doesn’t feel heavy, this does feel quite drying on the lips. However, I don’t have a problem with its lasting power or its quality at all. It lasts about 4-6 hours plus on me, and though it transfers, the color still stays on the lips. My beef with this is the color scheme, which is kind of a bummer because I had really high hopes of this lipstick. I do hope that there will be lighter/brighter color options in the future for this particular lip product, and also, I hope that this will even be comfier on the lips.
