Becca x Chrissy Teigen Endless Summer Glow Collection Review & Swatches

becca x chrissy teigen endless summer glow collection

Hey guys! Happy Weekend! There’s lots of new beauty stuff to look forward to this weekend starting with the fresh and newly-released Becca x Chrissy Teigen Endless Summer Glow Collection. I am so excited about this collab just as I was so excited when the first Becca x Chrissy Glow Face Palette (swatched HERE) was released last year. This year, there are three limited-edition featured products and they’re inspired by the idea of having that sun-kissed skin all throughout the year. So, expect to see some shimmers and sun-inspired warmth in this collection.

First off, let’s start with the Glow Body Oil (3.5 oz: $42). I love the look of the packaging, it looks sleek and luxurious with its golden shimmers floating inside the bottle. The oil smells great, it has this perfumey floral scent, though for some it may be too strong, but for me, I like it, it gives me that nostalgic tropical scent. Formula-wise, I think this body oil could be improved. No matter how much product I applied on my skin, I still couldn’t see the shimmer. I’ve shaken the bottle I don’t know how many times and I still couldn’t see much glow. In fact, photographing it is a challenge. Also, this body oil doesn’t seem to set immediately on the skin, it just sorts of sit on top and it has a bit of a slightly sticky feel which made me wary about oil transfer to my clothes and anything I touch. But nevertheless, this Glow Body Oil still feels light and moisturizing. Another thing I wanna point out is how impractical its packaging can be. It does look pretty yeah but it’s not well-thought-out because it doesn’t have a sprayer nor a pump. So you kinda have to tap the opening of its glass bottle several times in order to release some products, which is kinda tedious.

Next up is the Endless Bronze & Glow (0.25 oz: $38) compact that contains two shades of Becca’s top Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed Highlighter in Moonstone and Beach Nectar (one of the shades in the Glow Face Palette) and it also contains the new Sunlit Bronzer in Aloha Bronze. Moonstone is a pale golden pearl shade, while Beach Nectar is a golden peach. The Aloha Bronze is a medium brown with a slight terracotta tone a bit similar to the Glow Face Palette’s Malibu Soleil, just without the slight clayish red blend. At first glance, the design and the colors inside this compact are so pretty. It has this sun and waves etching and it’s simply tempting to try. All three shades retain the same excellent quality, pigmentation and overall good formulation that we usually expect and see with most of Becca’s highlighting and bronzing products. The nice thing about this compact is that it’s so versatile and it can be that one face compact you’ll ever need especially when you’re out and about or traveling. There’s basically a shade for highlighting, a shade for bronzing, and a nice shimmery blush. When swirled and combined, the overall shade becomes a bronzy shimmery coral. On my skin, it pulls off as a highlighting blush and yes, it really gives that sun-kissed glow.

Lastly, there’s the Glow Lip Gloss (0.18 oz: $22) which gives shine and feels ultra-hydrating, cushiony like a balm and pigmented like a liquid lipstick. It has a softening comforting feel that doesn’t weigh the lips and it has that peppermint scent and flavor which gives that plumpy feel after application. It takes a couple of swipes here and there to get a full coverage on the lips (especially if you have fuller lips) since the formula is a bit thick and the tube’s opening is quite narrow, not to mention the slim brush applicator. The way Chrissy applies it as seen in the video is the best way to apply this gloss. It’s great to be worn alone or as a lipstick topper and the shades are really great. There will be some color transfer of course especially when you eat or drink, but most of it remains on the lips and it will stay there for about 4 to 5 hours.

Beach Bum – supposed to be a warm sandy pink, but it looks more like a light tan beige on me.

Malibu Soleil – mauvy rose without any shimmer and it’s not sheer. It’s just like my lips’ natural shade but better

Beach Nectar – described as a “neutral berry infused with a hint of light catching pearl”, on me, it slightly sheer, shimmery, and it’s kinda reddish brown.

In conclusion, this year’s Becca x Chrissy Teigen collab is an exciting one that is definitely worth trying. The products are great especially with the Lip Glosses and the Endless Bronze & Glow Compact. The Glow Body Oil would have been really great if it wasn’t for its lack of shimmer and its impractical packaging.

Morning Glamour Satin Pillowcase Review

Happy Fourth of July Everybody! I hope you’re having a great time wherever you are. I have a quick review to share before I’ll be heading out to see some fireworks. So let’s get this thing going, shall we?

Have you heard of silk or satin pillowcases? I’ve heard about them for some time now yet it’s still quite news to me. I’ve heard and tried some satin or silk sheets before but I’ve never really thought of using a satin pillowcase. I’ve had my reservations especially when I saw some ads and reviews saying that it has a lot of benefits, and I thought it seemed like a fad. But then again, for my curiosity’s sake, I knew I had to try it. But then, I didn’t quite know for sure which brand I should try though, so when I happen to wander in Bed Bath & Beyond, I saw this Morning Glamour Satin Pillowcases ($8.99-$24.99) with their cute packaging and I was immediately sold. I picked the gray, pink, and white color. These satin pillowcases come in either single or two packs, and there are two sizes: the standard size and the king size. The prices vary a lot by sizes, by type of pack, and by store. The standard size is about 20″x26″, and the king size is 20″x36″. They also come in several different colors, either plain, floral or polka dots.

When I first tried one of the pillowcases, I noticed that it’s actually pretty cooling to the touch and also to my face. The satin feels smooth, soft, and very luxurious. Just putting my face on it made me feel relaxed and it actually made me feel sleepy. In fact, I had a really good peaceful sleep the night when I first tried it, and it even made me feel like I wanna sleep some more. In other words and I must warn ya, this pillowcase is very sleep-conducive. In addition to that, there are several things I noticed ever since using this pillowcase. For once, it really made my hair smooth and silky. When other people mentioned that satin pillowcases gave such improvement to their hair, I thought they were just bluffing. But nope, my hair is even smoother ever since using this satin pillowcase. That’s because my hair doesn’t tangle and it slides off the pillowcase easily whenever I toss and turn in my sleep, which I normally do. Also, the satin texture doesn’t cause friction against my hair unlike my usual cotton pillowcases, so there’s no static, no knotting, no dry tangled strands, and my hair looks moisturized and soft, that’s because most cotton pillowcases tend to absorb the hair’s moisture overtime as you sleep, whereas the satin ones keep and lock moisture in.

Cleaning the Morning Glamour Satin Pillowcase is very easy. Just machine wash it in cold water and put it in low to medium heat. It dries pretty fast and it can withstand several washes. Mine has been washed I don’t know how many times and it’s still looking great. You can also iron it using the lowest setting if you wanna straighten some slight wrinkles on the sheets.

Overall, these satin pillowcases are great alternatives to the expensive silk ones and they’re cat-approved. Just look at my cat’s photo below. He loves to chill on the pink satin pillowcase. I guess he also wants his fur to be shiny and silky too, LOL.

I’ve been slowly replacing some of my cotton pillowcases with these satin ones simply because I just feel relaxed and rejuvenated whenever I use them. They also seem to minimize allergies, and I’m talking about my cats’ hairs sticking all over the sofa and all over the house. For some reason, these satin pillowcases don’t seem to attract pet furs that much, and if it does, it just slides off easily. The problem now is that my kitties love to chill with these pillowcases. Hmmmp!

Revlon Colorburst Matte Balm & Balm Stain Review + Swatches

Hey There! I recently discovered some really great lip products while I was having fun Pinteresting, and guess what? it’s a drugstore lip pencil! Every time I see a really good quality drugstore lip product, I get so excited and mind you, the ones that I’m about to review today are really so good that you’d think they out to be high-end or that they should belong to the high-end category.

Take a really good look at the Revlon Colorburst Matte Balm ($8.49) and the Revlon Colorburst Balm Stain ($9.49). On the outside, they look like an average lip crayon but on the inside, they pack on intense pigments while having the texture of a lip balm. Also, they come in several different shades at a really affordable price. Since they’re much like a chubby lip crayon, they’re pretty easy to use and they’re quite precise to apply. You don’t need to sharpen them because the packaging is a twist-release type at the bottom. Additionally, they are so moisturizing to use and so lightweight on the lips, even the matte ones don’t dry my lips after hours of wear. I also love the fact that they have this really nice mint flavor or taste, and it kinda makes my lips feel plumpy.

Matte Balm – These are probably one of the best if not the best matte lip crayons I’ve ever tried. Such gorgeous selection of colors with a true matte texture, yet it doesn’t compromise on comfort and weight. The effect looks really matte on the lips but it’s non-drying even after several hours of wear and it doesn’t feel like you’re wearing it all, it just feels like you’re wearing a lip balm, or that you’re wearing a really comfortable creamy lipstick with the effect of being matte. I love it! They still do transfer but not extremely so, and most of the color stays anyway. The darker shades are a lot more long lasting and more staining.

Enchanting (255) – light nude beige

Sultry (225) – mauve rose

Fierce (265) – terracotta brown

Balm Stain – I didn’t quite know what to expect from this at the beginning, I just thought that it might be just another lip stain packaged in a lip crayon type. While it’s true that it’s really a lip stain with a lip crayon look, the thing is it doesn’t feel like any other average lip stain. Though the coverage might be slightly sheer, actually, this particular lip stain is impressive. It feels like a really lightweight super moisturizing lip balm upon application and it leaves a really long lasting stain on the lips. By long lasting, I’m talking about a whole day of stain, and it can be so hard to remove especially the dark shades. What I really like about this lip stain/lip balm hybrid is not just its staining power, but also its beautiful effect on my lips. It looks like I’ve got bubblegum lips, especially whenever I use the pinkish-toned colors. It just gives me that nice youthful color that I love these days.

Smitten (030) – bright fuchsia pink

Crush (005) – plum berry

Overall, I’m so glad I found these gorgeous Revlon staining lip crayons. They’re so economical to use with its affordable price and the fact that it doesn’t seem to run out fast. I love its lightweight super staining gel texture and there’s no mess during application, in fact, these crayons are quite precise and easy to use, plus the formula doesn’t feather and the colors are rich and vivid. Now, these are really awesome lipsticks!
