Hi All! Iโve been really curious about Koh Gen Do Cleansing Spa Water which is highly-rated by a lot of youtubers and beauty bloggers out there. It seems like a really good, high-end, au-natural face refresher/cleanser and makeup remover. The ingredients are superb and it has a lot of skin care benefits. Itโs basically a fortified micellar water with added ingredients like; white birch sap (anti-aging), xylitol, arginine and herb extracts. Truly spa-like. Itโs great for all skin types, and also for people with sensitive skin and eyes. When it comes to its price, the Koh Gen Do Cleansing Spa Water is priced higher than most micellar waters. The travel size costs $13, while the standard size costs $39.
This Japanese brand micellar water does a good job of getting rid of my makeup at the end of the day, and it cleanses my skin very well, even without washing my face. It definitely takes off every last bit of foundation, blush, bronzer and lipstick out of my skin, and it doesnโt sting or irritate it. Itโs so mild and itโs not drying. It even gets rid of most waterproof makeup products fairly easily, except the highly pigmented eyeliners or the waterproof ones like Marc Jacobs Fineliners and Chanel Stylo Yeux Waterproof Eyeliners. It also struggles to remove waterproof mascaras as well. No matter how hard I soak my eyelashes and lids with this Koh Gen Do Cleansing Spa Water in order to soften and remove the eyeliner and mascara, I find that this particular cleansing water is just not enough.
Iโve only used one micellar water prior to this KGD Spa Water, and itโs the Garnier SkinActive Micellar Cleansing Water in Blue Shade, which really works very well to remove stubborn waterproof makeups. Comparing the two, thereโs really not much difference that I noticed. The Garnier Micellar Water is a force to reckon with, and it is also mild and non-irritating, just like the Koh Gen Do Spa Water. The only difference are their cleansing capability. The Garnier Micellar Water truly gets rid of any kind of makeup formulations and is also mild for the eyes, while the Koh Gen Do Spa Water is much more expensive and it doesnโt really remove waterproof eye makeups that well. Though I like the container of the Koh Gen Do better because itโs easier to stick a cotton swab in it, I know I will still be reaching for my Garnier pretty soon.
Hey Bag Lovers! Iโm back with another review of my favorite bag of the moment. Iโve had this bag for a couple of years now, and it has been used quite a lot. Itโs a very functional bag due to its practical size that can hold a substantial amount of stuff, and is an ideal bag for transitioning from one season to another. Itโs also versatile because it goes with anything, whether youโre rocking a biker chic look or an office attire. It can also be casual for running errands or just a walk around town kind of look. Truly a bag of all seasons, of shifting weathers, and a go to for anyone who wants to look polished yet edgy and trendy. We all know this bag, the Balenciaga Classic Metallic Edge City. A modern and even more edgy twist to the usual Balenciaga Classic City that we know. The bag is made of a strong yet supple grained goatskin, hand stitched handles and a removable shoulder strap.
It also has its signature gold metallic edges and golden studs. The Balenciaga Classic Metallic Edge City retains the same size, interiors, openings, zips and compartments as the Classic City, and comes with the removable leather framed mirror. The handle drop is around 4 inches, while the shoulder strap drop is around 8.5 inches. The bag itself is about 15 inches in length and 9 inches in height with a depth of 5 inches. It is quite heavy, around 1 pound or more, but it can hold a ton of stuff. The leather looks luxurious, robust, strong and quite resistant to scratches. Though the bag tends to get more supple with time, its beauty and resilience remains the same, if not better. I usually carry it during winter and down to spring. I even carry it during long haul flights without any issue. This is without a doubt, a multitasking bag for me.
Wide-Tooth Comb โ Believe it or not, this comb is 15 years old. Itโs practically antique. Got this when I was still in high school. I donโt even remember anymore where I bought this from. But Iโve been keeping it because of the sentimental value. LOL. On top of that, it detangles my hair well, and prevents split ends. Still looks good as new too.
Louis Vuitton 6 Key Holder โ Vernis Leather in Indian Rose shade. Love this for keys and keychain cards organization.
Burberry Classic Cashmere Scarf โ Love the Ash Rose shade of this. Ideal for when the temperature gets chillier than usual.
Supermarket Pocket Facial Tissue โ Itโs always important to have this.
Too Cool For School Dinoplatz Dear Brachiosaurus Blotting Paper โ Iโm crazy about these blotting papers. It comes in 3 kinds; Mulberry, Green Tea and Mattifying Charcoal. Love that these donโt disturb your makeup, comes in compact case with mirror and a sticky puff.
The Woman In Cabin 10 Book โ From the author Ruth Ware. Given by my cousin in Lahdahn. Havenโt finished reading this yet. Will soon make a review on the โOther Stuffโ section of this blog.
Clinique Pouch โ A free pouch that you usually get when you buy some products from the Clinique counter.
There you have it! The contents of my Balenciaga Classic Metallic Edge City. A one fine functional bag that can carry a lot of stuff. Sometimes, it can even act as shopping bag, because the bag expands and is very robust, despite its goat leather. Iโve taken it on several cross-country flights, and not a dent or scratch happened. The only caveat is the annoying shorter-than-usual shoulder strap. I donโt really see the use of the provided shoulder strap because itโs hard to wear the bag with that too short of a strap, and sometimes wearing the bag on the forearm with a lot of stuff inside can be really heavy. So I suggest and plan to purchase the longer shoulder strap that Balenciaga now provides for this particular style of bag. I think itโll work much better and could improve the bagโs usability. Other than that, this bag is indeed a work of art and performance that gets better with time.
Hi There! Here now are the contents of my Sephora Play March 2017 issue, and I gotta say, I really like this monthโs products, even though it took a while for my box to arrive as usual. This monthโs theme is really cute, itโs called โGlow Your Own Way.โ Hmmm, sounds like a song, and obviously, this monthโs featured products are all about highlighters, illuminators and strobes. The stuff that makes the skin look glowy, dewy, healthy, radiant and luminous. Oh my, I love it already. Iโm crazy about highlighters and anything that highlights the face, and I think we all do, so this is gonna be another good season for strobing.
Here are the products:
Benefit Wattโs Up! Cream-to-Powder Highlighter: Been wanting to buy this one, but thank God for Sephora Play! now I could enjoy a mini size for a while because thereโs a lot of product in this small container. The shade is a gold-champagne tone thatโs universally flattering for all skin tone, and I love how easy it is to use due to its stick-style. Just swipe on the bony prominences of the face, like the cheekbones, nose, brow bones etc., then blend with your finger or a beauty blender. Perfect. The glow is soft, natural, long lasting and really illuminating.
Josie Maran Surreal Skin Argan Finishing Balm: Have tried several samples of this particular product before. While it never really gave me real benefits and wasnโt really crazy about this product, this finishing balm is meant to be used either before or after makeup application. Before, meaning as a primer, and after as a luminizing finisher. I never really used this a finisher, since it seems to disrupt my makeupโs setting, so Iโve always used this as a primer/moisturizer only.
Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion, Original: My all-time favorite eyeshadow primer and the one I still use even until now. Iโve tried other eyeshadow primers before, but I always come back to this one because this holds your eyeshadow very well and it never creases. It now comes in different formulations and colors, but the original formula is a cult-favorite.
Glamglow Glowstarter Mega Illuminating Moisturizer: A Glotion by definition, hmmm. Glow Lotion indeed, this is a cotton-candy/bubble gum scented luminizing moisturizer that gives a subtle glow on the face. Itโs creamy and hydrating plus with some added skin care benefits. However, this may not be ideal for anybody with an oily skin, since this product will further enhance an oil-prone skin within a few hours of use. Also, you may have to go easy on your strobing while using this.
Atelier Cologne Clรฉmentine California Cologne: With incredible notes of clementine, mandarin and juniper berries, this sweet and fruity scent is both haunting, fascinating and mysterious. It sparks curiosity, innocence and freshness. This scent will make you wanna sing Lana Del Reyโs Summertime Sadness or reminisce on La La Landโs Someone In The Crowd. It may even haunt you for that once in a lifetime chance encounter. As what Atelier Cologne describes โIt was the warmest summer on recordโฆhe had been searching for her for months. This perfect stranger with her fragile and elegant silhouetteโฆ About to give up, the moment came when it all changed, the woman he had been dreaming of. Her natural beauty and distinct voiceโฆhe now had to convince her to change the course of her lifeโฆโ Oh my, canโt say much, Iโm already in love with this cologne. Expect me to hoard this scent for life, Iโm already sold.
Verb Ghost Oil: A Moringa seed oil blended with bamboo extracts and some other added hair care benefits, this oil helps to condition, smooth or tame frizzy hair, and gives shine. Apply a few drops after showering and itโs great for preparing the hair prior to any styling. If you tend to have oily hair, you may skip on this as this can weigh your hair down at the end of the day.
